Lars.....we stayed at the Portofino last November.....it's a head and shoulders above any WDW hotel I've ever been in. Just drop dead gorgeous.

FOTL is gorgeous also....especially if you're a coaster lover.

Had no time to check in here last night, went to a Creative Memories Demonstration. I think I'm hooked!

Tonight I really need to pack. Leaving Thursday with a stop in Harrisburgh, and onto Ocean City, NJ. Friday, Gina and I will be lounging on the beach. Sorry, there won't be any pictures.

Switching to the Swan or Dolphin would be a wonderful thing in my eyes. The rates there that can be found are great. Then again no matter where you stay, WDW is great

Thanks for the input on the S/D.....I'm always hesitant to try somethin new....but have failed to be disappointed with any disney property.....if memory serves me right, O/S at Vistana years ago was good too!!!!!

HOpe you are having fun in spite of the rain, LK! Just chase it out of there before we arrive on Friday! It DOES look like quite a long wet stretch for the area. Maybe we will get lucky and bring our incredibly dry weather along with us!

All the more reason for DVC! We figure we had recouped the price after just 4 trips! Of course, that would mean you stay on site in at least a moderate or deluxe each time, but if you are comparing apples to apples, that is what you have to do. I think OKW has the best accomodations on-site. Many wish it was closer to a park, but we don't mind the 10-15 minute bus rides. It is worth it for the size and embiance of the accomodations!

BTW, Steph, I heard they were not doing AP discounts anymore. Their new "package plans" are supposed to make them a "better" deal. I am just sorry we can't get the Disney Club discount on APs after December. We did not renew our APs this time, and are using 5 day hoppers for this trip. We plan to buy 4 AP vouchers in November so we will have 2 years of discounted APs to use yet. I asked at the DS if that was possible to hold them for 2 years, and they said, "of course"!

Sandi, I've been scrapbooking for probably 6 years. It's a fun hobby. You'll love it. In my "expert" opinion Creative Memories is the way to go. Maybe we'll get together someday at a scrapbook convention. We usually have a DIS meet at the one in Arlington, TX every summer.

Gail, I hope your eye is better soon. Sore eyes are the worst. Did it have something to do with your contacts?

Lars, can you get your credit card to talk to my credit card? Mine always agrees with Allen that I need to behave. If mine told me that I could go to Florida, I'd be out of here.

I'm working in the master bed and bath today. Still going through stuff and pitching what we don't need. We sure have accumulated a lot of stuff. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get through all of it. And right now the closet (except the clothes) is in the bathroom floor. Allen is going to love that.

How AWESOME!!!! Hey, cross yer fingers that I DO get to go to WDW after all!! (even if only for 1 day !) My DH and I are involved with the local "Pop-Warner-type" of peewee football program in town. Our senior cheerleading squad won overall 1st place for their division in a competition in Williamsburg, Va., and they are now NATIONAL CHAMPS!! Anyhoo, all 1st place teams for their age group become eligible and get invited to perform at half-time at this New Year's Day Capital One Bowl (formerly Citrus Bowl) in Orlando, and anyone from our organization can attend!! There was a parent's meeting last night, which my DH attended. Much to my surprise, he brought home the brochure, and said that he would treat the whole family!! Let there be something said for "GUILT"!!

...there's one main thing that's absolutely holding me back. That is - - - THE WEATHER!!! We were at WDW for XMas week in 1999, and it was FREEZING!!!! I thought that it was just a fluke for that week, but after checking the website to check out the hotel accomodations (BTW ~ it's at the Rosen Center Hotel, located on International Dr...anyboy heeerd o' it??!?!?!) when I clicked onto past gatherings - specifically, pix of the WDW day trips. Guess what? Everyone was wearing sweaters, sweatshirts, and long pants, and the pix were from 2 different years. Now, I'm not saying that THAT is so terrible. Problem is: we could spend the XMas holidays in Puerto Rico at my mom's new home . . . guaranteed 80+ degrees of SUNNY WEATHER!!! And, to me staying for a week in Orlando, but only getting ONE Disney park is ALMOST not worth it....

Lars and Kinmar, DD was invited to that because of going to Drum Major academy. If I had known it was going to be a DIS meet, I wouldn't have thrown it away.

Our squad would be spending time at Universal too. New Year's Eve at US/IOA at least, and a few days at WDW too. They need school board permission to travel out side of Michigan though.
