Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Brenda, Thanks for adding me to the October list. I have not read back and do not know what health issues you were facing but glad all is well. I hope you enjoyed your wine dinner.

D&R, wanted to send my condolences on the loss of Fractions. Animals have such an amazing way of becoming family so I know this has been a rough week for you.

Geezz, Bendy lets anyone in here.;) Welcome to my best buddy!:goodvibes

I knew it would be ok to pop in since I saw you already here!!! :rotfl:

HI BRENDA ,:wave2: I guess you can add me to the list ! I will be there with my SIL Lauren( FormrCastMbr)from WFD thread looking forward to meeting everybody and having a few cocktails :drinking1 Thanks Charlene
SSR FROM OCT.16-19

Don't forget I have to give talks while on board and if they don't get excellent reviews I don't get hired back - so lots of pressure. :scared: :scared:
I was quite glad to leave Germany after 9 years for lots of reasons but I still love going back to visit. When I lead my groups through Bavaria, I wish I had a dollar for every time a guest says "This is all SO CUTE"! Have you visited there yet?

I play in the Vancouver Symphony and after our last tour the rest of Canada had to take notice. The West tends to get ignored in Canada as the view is that nothing important happens here, but we showed them we are as good as anything they offer in the East.

Yes, I LOVE Bavaria.
You'll do swimmingly with your talks, no worries.

I love love love British Columbia. Dh and I drove it to and from Alaska and were enamored. WHAT do you play in the symphony? The musician in me is dying to know!

These were the last 2 pictures I took of my horse Fractions. After 26 years it was his time. Yesterday was a horrible day and I just wanted to share this with my friendies.

I am so so sorry.

Hi All!

I was given a link to this thread by Kathy...I am a friend of hers from the Whats for Dinner thread. I will be going to WDW in October with my SIL, BigMama, and Kat thought it would be fun if I joined your group. Hope you do not mind. We will be at SSR the 16 - 19th.

Brenda, It looks like a great thread. Thank you!

Wishing everyone the best!
Lauren

Welcome!!:woohoo:

OK all, here's what. We still have no idea where we'll be living. It's stressing me out. Remember how I asked everyone's opinion on driving through France with the kiddos? Well, this is a rough itinerary of what we'll be doing.....

June 2 (yes, that is soon, thank you for noticing): spend the night in Castle in Bacharach Germany

3,4,5~ Garmisch, Germany

6&7~ Salzburg, Austria

8~ A cliff in Switzerland

9~~~en route?????

10-22/23 France

I am having difficulty getting rooms in the French Riviera, but I'll get there. It's so much harder to get a room when you have to Email each place and wait for a reply!!

In the spirit of being petrified at this whole thing, I am having a Belgian beer.:rolleyes1 Oh, and we'll try to stop in Luxembourg for a bit on the way to Germany and also we'll be sweeping through Liechtenstein and Monaco to check those off.

Thoughts? Someone tell me I'm nuts?

Sounds absolutely amazing! :cool1: I just don't know how you're going to get your Tokyo trip report done while you're driving all over Europe ;) :lmao:

In all seriousness, it sounds wonderful and I hope you don't have to move back to the States until you're ready

Briarmom ... when will you find out for sure about your hubby's next posting? Maybe things will turn out better than you expect (I know ... I'm being uncharacteristically optimistic - it must be all the wine from last night) and just think how easy it could be for you to visit WDW during F&W. :goodvibes

As for last night's dinner ... It started out good with the appetizer and went rapidly downhill from there. They were very generous with the wine, though, so we can't complain about that. But the only food course that was prepared really well was the appetizer ... bruschetta.

You know it's bad when the kitchen serves chocolate mousse that has the consistency of cake batter. One of the waiters asked me how I liked it and I shocked him, myself, and Jay by responding, "This is really bad."

He went back to the kitchen (so he said), tried some, and then came back over to me and apologzied and then said, "that stuff tastes like crap." :lmao:

It was a funny night for all that the food was a disappointment and I hope to have something good for you to read about it in a few days. It was a doozy. :rolleyes1

Hiya! Welcome to the party ... hope to see more of you here. Just jump in whenever you feel the urge. :goodvibes

I will keep plugging away at the Tokyo report.

We were supposed to ABSOLUTELY KNOW in February.:lmao:
We will have to move by August 1, I am sure.

I really really really want to move to Italy. After that, I can handle a final assignment in the south. I just do not do well there. :guilty:

Woohoo! Party with Bendy for her birthday!

I thought the chocolate mousse story was hilarious. It's great when the waiter will admit that the item in question is crap.

Not sure if I'm doing PFTS or not this time around. If I am, I'll just have a boozy head start on everyone else. :rolleyes1

Anyone have a insider tip on when the F&W events will come out?

Brenda, Are you sure you want to order your own cake? With definite plans, we could handle that & surprise you, or maybe that wouldn't be a good idea! I know you have specific ideas about cake! Let us know if you decide on PFTS or not, I'm still undecided. It's either that or FF with Kat!

Any way we can pull off a mega-million $$$ bank heist so that none of us have to return to work ever again? ;):rotfl2:

**I'm joking ... please don't report me to the FBI ... I do not plan to knock over a bank**

Wait until you see the picture I took of the chocolate mousse with the spoon sticking straight up in the middle of it.

We're not sure about PFTS either ... probably not ... we're hoping to see a more current V&A menu or else we may head to Bistro. I'm all over the place with dining stuff right now - can't seem to make any decisions or even come up with a tentative dining plan.

At least you won't have far to go once PFTS is over. :thumbsup2

Sheryl, we've seen something that indicated program info would be released late in July and reservations will be taken on the second Monday in August (the 10th or 11th). Not long to wait now!

As for the cake, it's very sweet of you to suggest that someone else do it but I don't feel like that would be right. Since it's going to be my birthday and I've had the gall to suggest meeting on that evening I really think Jay and I should provide something and cake seemed like a nice way to end the day (and it goes well with wine and such). If we had managed to win the $222 million lottery Wednesday night we were going to plan a mega DIS-meet ... obviously that didn't happen and now we're back to cake and paper plates. :lmao:

I'd just be happy to have as many friendies stop by for a hug and a slice as can make it - and that date actually seemed like the one with the most overlap. :thumbsup2

And who knows ... maybe we'll end up at FF that night for dinner, too! :woohoo:

Hi Friendies :)
HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Even though this was a shortened week..it still seemed to drag..so happy its Friday..or in my book DRINK WINE DAY!..but i will wait for after 5:00 pm for that ;)

ANYHOO..i need some good bendy-friendy advice regarding Dining in October!!
We are just starting to think about ADRs and the question came up...to Tutto or not to Tutto!???? We def. want to do an Italian restaurant and our experience with mama melrose was abysmal..so that is out...our question is..is Tutto worth it OR should we just do uncle Tony's to get our italian fix the night we are going to the halloween party?? I have never been to either of them so I am not sure....:rolleyes1 such decisions..i know

I have a question about baggage fees. Since Delta has now so graciously tacked on a $15 first bag fee, does that mean for the total trip? Or does it mean $15 for going AND coming home? Let's make it even more confusing--since we have to transfer twice to get to Burbank no matter what airline, if we go Delta, Delta, USAir, do we get charged by both airlines for the baggage??? Reason I'm asking is that it is $50 cheaper each ticket to do the above combo, than to go Delta, Delta, Delta. Also, anyone have lost luggage problems when using two different airlines?

You'd think it had been an eon since we'd travelled with all these questions!:rotfl: Thanks guys!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gina, on Tutto--we really loved it! The food was good, dh (who has been to Italy) thought it was authentic and the service was outstanding. We were on DDP that trip, or the price would have been a little painful, but we probably wouldn't have ordered three desserts, either. ;) It's just a very relaxed, lovely place and seems removed from the hustle and bustle since the restaurant is set back in the pavillion. We haven't tried Tony's, so maybe someone else can comment on that?
