Hello! Does anyone have advice or tips for where to sit/stand for Sea of Dreams? We plan to go our first day when we just have the evening ticket. I have learned we will be there during Spring Break in Japan so I’m expecting crazy crowds. I don’t mind purchasing DPA if it will still be available at 5pm which doesn’t seem likely? Any tips? Appreciate it!

I’d like to know too. I can purchase DPA is it makes a difference. Are any of the three sections more central to the show, or doesn’t it matter?

IF it's critically important to you, then you'd be best trying to grab a spot as soon as you enter the park at 5pm. By then, I expect there will already be a crowd 3-4 people "deep" who are waiting for the show. Even on a "slow" day, people grab spots immediately upon the park opening.

Otherwise, I would just try walking around 5-10 minutes before the show starts to see if you can find a good spot. Sometimes there's a decent view up near Soaring / Journey. All around the harbour and over the bridge is normally pretty crowded.

If it makes you feel any better, we paid for DPA and the view really wasn't that great (in part due to the actions of other people in the DPA area).

I don't think DPA will be available at 5PM during Spring Break.

For DPA, I used to like Lido Isle on the left side because it's closer to the large ships and this area usually sells out first. These days, I prefer the spots to the right near next to the vacation package spots because the main ships for the "story" favors that side. My least favorite DPA spot is actually dead center because you sit on the floor behind vacation package guests and actually can't really see a lot of the boats that are further away.

Be aware that buying DPA doesn't mean you don't have to arrive early. It just means you get closer to the front so people will still line up 2 hours before the show to get let in to the DPA area.

For last minute standing spots, I usually check the area in front of Zambini Brothers on the way to Soaring first. Fortress Explorations area can also have last minute spots.

Well it looks like the DPA for Sea of Dreams will start having assigned seats, so I am now thinking I will take the time to watch on my vacation package day since I will be able to book DPA in the AM.

We found a spot to stand and watch Believe by the shops on the side of the park near soaring about 10 minutes before the show started. I am so glad we saw it on our first night we were at TDS because our second night the show was cancelled due to high winds and a storm rolling in. We were there in the early part of July 2024 the week before the Japanese children were out for summer break for reference.

Following up on this thread because I'm looking for information on the Vacation Package seating. There isn't info on the Disney site, and I don't see it in my vacation package elements. (I have one night with Unlimited and one night with Attractions, neither seem to call out vacation package seating.) Is VP special seating just not done anymore? Thank you!

Only VPs sold on the Japanese site are eligible for parade/show seating.

Fascinating! Thank you for letting me know. I guess there's not enough room for all vacation package people. I guess I'll have to see where I can squeeze in as a solo traveler.

You can purchase a DPA for a special viewing section, but you'll still have to sit on the ground in the designated area.

Was this a change along with the DPA changes last month?

As of December, only the front center DPA section was sitting. DPA for Lido Isle on the left and the DPA area to the right were standing.

I can't keep up with all the monthly changes! I always thought only the Japan VP people were blesses with actual chairs.

There's only one vacation package section that has bench-like seating (not chairs). Most vacation package spots are actually sitting on the ground although there is a vacation package standing section in Lido Isle.

DPA for the front piazza is sitting on the ground behind the vacation package section while DPA for Lido Isle and the harbor-side area to the right are standing areas.
