We will arrive in Orlando New Year’s Eve Day. We won’t be doing a park that day but would like to eat somewhere nice/cool/fun, and something to fill our time without being in the hotel room! Our kids are 4, 8, 8, and 14. Any ideas? We’re considering a meal at City Walk. We really liked the Mexican restaurant we ate at there, but it has been 5 years since we have been.

Did you try the NBC Sports Grill & Brew? Perhaps if you have any sports fans in your party you may want to hang out there on New Year’s Eve. Plenty of options including burgers, chicken and other dishes. Open late as well…

What resort are you staying at ?
NBC Sports Grill is huge but with children Maybe you should try Toothsomes Chocolate Emporium . I love walking in there just for the fun chocolate display counter to pick out one piece of chocolate but they have a large selection on menu and an upper level seating.
All age groups will love the Red Dead Coconut Club but with your age group I would enter when theyOpen early Eve but it is awesome to walk around and look at everything …No food items just Bar drinks .
CowFish has good menu also and an open seating outdoors upper level with inside seating also.
The Mexican Restaurant was fun for Cinco de Mayo with upper level view of their soundstage when the Mariachi band performs ! And always fun to have
Mexican food ! I wonder if they serve the Mexican Sweet Tamales for the holidays

Don’t forget the Hollywood miniature golf next to the Cinema across from Starbucks . It’s a lot of fun especially for families!

I'm not a sports fan and I really enjoyed the food there.

We really enjoyed eating at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen on our last trip

Looks like there will be a new Avatar and a Spongebob movie in December and the theater over there was really nice the last time we went, plus the tickets give either discount or free parking depending on what time you show up. Personally I'd go to the latest matinee offered then walk around a bit to explore one of the hotels and let the kids jump around a playground then move on to dinner and then visit various hotels until everyone is nice and sleepy. If spending on a movie pizza at Sals at the Portofino is a good deal

Over by WDW our kids favorite restaurant was Disney Springs T-Rex and then there is so much to look at and many places to listen to music, maybe grab ice cream.
