Can anyone tell me the brand of beer sold in each country? DH would like to do a "beer tour" on our next trip.

We've had Kirn (sp?) in Japan, and Rignes (sp? LOL!) in Norway, but what do the other countries have?

Thanks!

In Norway I saw Carlsberg. Not sure of the other countries because my DH likes his beer from the good ole US of A - he likes his Budweiser.

Not in Epcot, but def. try out the Brewery at the Boardwalk. We each got the beer sampler (about 8 different home brewed beers in juice sized glasses) and got an order of chips and guac. - the whole bill came to $17. Can't beat it!!

(the sampler isn't on the menu - but they have it- just ask!)

Hmm, this sounds interesting. I'm slooooooooooowly eeking my way into appreciating beer, I'm hoping to try some interesting ones this fall at the F+W Fest.

I believe there is...

Dos Equis or Tecate in Mexico
Carlsberg in Norway
Tsing Tao in China
Becks in Germany
......... in Italy (I know there is wine.... but I don't recall beer)
Sam Adams in the US
Kirin in Japan
Kronnenborg in France
Harp, Guinness and others in the UK
Labatts (?) and Moosehead in Canada

Hope that helps!

It's hard to remember, especially after a few. But here's what I can recall from last July

Mexico - Dos Equis
Norway - Carlsburg (I miss Ringnes :sad1: )
China - Tsingtao (I think)
Germany - Beck's
Italy - Peroni
American Adventure - Sam Adams - OH YEAH!!!! and the other watered down mass produced cr@p...
Japan - Kirin Ichiban
Morocco - Casblanca
France - Kronenbourg 1664
United Kingdom - Harp, Guinness, Stella and maybe Bass but I'm not sure if I'm confusing that with the OVI in Nyack
Canada - Molsen

The sit down restaurants often offer more variety in regional beers too. We had La Maudite at Le Cellier in Canada. In any case, HAVE FUN and have a drink for me! :drinking1

Thanks. They all sound great! I remember a few of those names from my college days.

I'll show DH the post.

Thanks again!

Dh did the "beer" tour on our last trip. He is a Bud man usually but couldn't resist. He does however LOVE the beer in Germany. He was stationed there and always makes us go there first thing when we hit EPCOT. The only beer I've EVER seen my DH actually toss was the one from England. He really didn't like it. Have fun and remember to take the Disney Bus!!! LOL!!!

Isn't Stella Belgian?

Yup, it is :) But they did have it at the Rose & Crown back in Sept2004, we'll be stopping by in about a month so DH can have another glass or two ;)

The beer on tap in Germany is Lowenbrau Lager, Spaten Optimator Dopplebock and Franziskaner Hefeweiss. Lowenbrau Oktoberfest should also be available this time of year. This is the best spot in WS for beer IMHO.

Stella is based out of Belgium but the beer shipped to the US is brewed in the UK. It's belgian in name only (similar in style to Heineken) and not truly representative of the belgian style of brewing.

Boy , cdtommie, you know your beers! LOL!

Stella is also very popular in Great Britain... I remember that and Kronenborg as beers commonly had in the pubs that surprised me last january!

Thanks Harambe! If DH is looking for something different try the Optimator at Germany (7.2% alcohol)...a dark beer that is sweet and strong! They only have it at Sommerfest (not the carts in front).

Yes Stella is a favorite here in the UK and is commonly called a 'pint of wife beater' as most domestic incidents happen when Stella has been drunk, or so urban myth would have it!!!
Claire ;)
