We got to sleep in a little bit which was really nice. Jeff was spending the day doing errands. He needed an oil change before our road trip and he needed shoes for the wedding and he needed to pick up a belt for my grandpa.
So I headed over to the Boardwalk and picked up my parents and grandpa to take them over to the Studios. My mom decided to wait outside of bag check since we were heading off to do wedding stuff. I went and got my grandpa in and then decided to go check something out before my dad and grandpa headed into the park and I went out to meet my mom. Apparently I took too long and she was just going through security when I got out front. I hadn't heard my phone when she called. She made a pit stop in the bathrooms by the Guest Relations Window and while she was there I got a call from Jeff. He was at the Disney store in the mall and wanted to know if he should pre-order the Princess and the Frog and get a lithograph. I said no since we wouldn't end up doing anything with the lithograph and we could do way better on the price once it comes out.

My mom and I hopped on the tram and headed back to the car. On the way my MOH sent me a text asking what time the rehearsal was. She then said that her flight was going to change. I figured as much because of the snow. Turns out she booked her flight wrong! She was flipping out, I was calm. I knew it would all work out.

My mom and I headed to POR to pick up her college roommate and then head to my place to become a wedding favor factory lol.
I gave them directions on what I wanted them to do and then I set to work making table names. I hadn't really put any thought into the table name labels so I just kind of threw them together. My moms roommate was first tasked with alphabetizing the placecards I'd made the day before and occasionally telling me what my actual table names were since I kept forgetting! lol

Then the two of them moved on to tying the bows on the favor boxes. They kept bringing them in to show me so that I wouldn't have a bridezilla moment lol, I don't think they needed to worry.

Here is a pic of one of the finished table names of which we ended up having 2 too many which is why this one was setup at our sweetheart table lol:

At some point in all this productivity we heard from my Uncle and my Grandma. My Uncle was being re-routed through Denver and was not going to arrive until 3am, he was checking in to find out what to do about DME. No worries there, just told him to grab his own luggage and hop on the bus. My grandma however had decided that ice forecast for NJ was too scary and she didn't want to slip and fall. She decided to cancel her trip. I was sad, but my mom said she could tell that she had been really worried about all the walking she would need to do and was having a lot of problems with her feet.

My mom checked her e-mail and found that my dad's cousin had e-mailed to say that their flights for Saturday had been canceled and they had re-booked for Sunday. I was starting to not be a happy camper about the guest situation, but at the same time was very very happy that my parents made it in with no problems at all.

Eventually Jeff came home from his shopping and we popped in the DVD that my Dad had made to show at the reception. It was equal parts cheesy and embarrassing.

Finally we decided to wrap things up and head out to 'feed the bride' as I hadn't really had anything all day and it was 230 or so. Before we headed out though I realized that we still needed to tie ribbon onto the bubbles! That was a hilarious endeavor that resulted in Joan cutting ribbon in the back seat and my mom tying bows in the front as I drove to the new deli down the street to get food. (FYI Perotti's NY Deli in Winter Garden is awesome!) Just as I sat down to eat my MOH called. She had gotten a flight that came in around 530 the next day and said that if it was canceled that her and her mom would hop in a car and drive straight through until they got here! I love her!

After eating we went back to my place and packed everything up into a Rubbermaid container and set off to Franck's of course it started raining just as we were heading out the door! Luckily the entrance to Franck's is covered so I just pulled right up underneath the cover and someone came out and unlocked a door to a backroom for us to put our stuff in. I waved hello to Sam and Dave's stuff while we were in there haha. Then we headed back to the Boardwalk.

We chilled for about 45 minutes while my mom put her pants in the dryer because she had gotten soaked getting to the room from the car. I texted Sam to push back the time that we were going to meet up as we waited a bit for the rain to letup and for my grandpa to get up from his nap. Jeff texted to say that he was already in Epcot doing some shopping. Finally My mom, Joan, and I decided to head out. My dad and grandpa gave us these long detailed directions of how to get to the boat at the Swolphin that would take us to Epcot. They even pointed it out from the rooms balcony. They had taken the boat back from the Studios and found an entrance into the hotel by the Croquet Lawn that put them really close to the room. We told them to call my phone when they arrived in the park as my mom was leaving hers to charge. As soon as we hit the elevators we had decided to scrap the boat and just walk, waaaaaay faster.

I was meeting Sam and Dave at the slushy stand in France and it turned out Jeff was already there hanging out with them on his own! He'd gotten some weird drink in Morocco. I got myself a slushy and then the four of us walked the rest of the World Showcase and chatted about our upcoming weddings. I don't think we took a photo together though! :-( silly us! We eventually parted ways so that they could go to Ohana's and we could go to Biergarten. Jeff and I wandered around China for a bit first and then eventually met up with everyone at the restaurant.

Dinner was yummy and it was nice to hang out with my cousins who I had spent every Thanksgiving with growing up but hadn't seen since my cousins wedding in August 08. We said goodbye to Jeff as he was parked out in the main lot and Joan since she needed to catch a bus back to POR. The rest of us were all headed back to the Boardwalk.

We stopped in front of the bathrooms in Morocco for my dad and his cousin to use the men's room. As we are standing there talking this custodial CM with a giant rolling garbage bin starts talking to us. He was a little bit odd and we were having a somewhat awkward conversation with him. Finally my phone rang and it was my dad. odd. I answered but no one was there. So we sent my cousin Alex into the bathroom. While he was still inside looking my phone rang again and this time my dad was on the other end. When I told him we were outside the bathrooms he relayed that info to Billy and they both started cracking up. Apparently the custodial CM had blocked us from their view and they had exited the restroom and walked all the way to the international gateway! Finally we met up with them and caught the boat to the Boardwalk. Well except for Alex who thought it was crazy to take the boat and so he walked and was waiting for us at the dock when we arrived at the Boardwalk lol.

My mom walked out to my car to pick up some stuff she had left there and then I headed home to crash for the night!

I promise the next few days are more fun and more picture filled!

great update! What a nice frame! How nice that they got a room overlooking the ceremony site.

looking forward to hearing more! :goodvibes

Yesh! New pics!
I am sorry the guest travel drama was going on... snow... how could youuuu!
I shake a drier on the highest setting on its general direction! ;)

Can't wait to hear/see more!!!

I can only see 1/2 your pictures at work and it is very annoying! :headache:

Anyway, love the place cards, they are too cute!! Can't wait to see more!

How great that your mom and her friend were able to help out with the favors :thumbsup2 That's too bad that your grandma decided not to make the trip. I know I was worried my grandma might not make it for ours since she was really having trouble getting around at that time, so we ended up having to get a scooter rental and had wheelchairs on hand the day of the wedding to get her between the different sites. How cool that you got to meet up with Sam and Dave. Toni and I met up last year during our anniversary trip and we forgot to get a picture too :upsidedow

I think in the end going up and down the steps at the Boardwalk and getting on and off the bus probably would have been a hassle for her, so I'm glad we didn't have to put her through that. Too funny that you forgot a photo too. Sam and Dave are coming back in August and we are going to try and do Hoop Dee Doo together so hopefully we will remember a pic!

yay an update! keep 'em coming! ;) so sorry to hear about the weather/travel issues.

Thanks! More is right around the corner ....

Saturday February 6th, 2010

Today was the day of my dad's birthday dinner at Kouzzina. He had turned 60 on January 21st and we thought with all of his family being here together it would be a great chance to celebrate. Sadly by that morning we found that his mom was not coming at all and that his sister and her family would not be arriving until after the dinner. It worked out in the end though. I had recently found out that a few days after my dad's birthday my MIL turned 55. So we switched things up and added Jeff and his family onto the dining reservation to celebrate both birthdays.

So the morning started out with me meeting everyone over at the Studios again. I got in my grandpa, uncle and mom's college roommate. My aunt took a pic of me with my grandpa while we were waiting for everyone to get through the turnstiles.

lol that's my mom off to the side.

For the day it was just going to be me and my mom. We said goodbye as my dad and his brother went off to Epcot and my aunt, unle and grandpa headed into the Studios. We stopped in the GR lobby to help my mom's friend upgrade her ticket to 10DPHNE (that's a 10 day park hopper no expiration for those folks who didn't spend 3 years selling tickets lol)

Then it was just me and my mom on our own. We headed back to the Boardwalk and we were extremly hungry and also wanted to check in the Boardwalk Bakery about a cake. We decided to just skip breakfast and head straight for lunch lol. We checked with the bakery and they needed 24 hours notice for any cakes so we decided to just go to Publix later. We split a turket sandwich and sat outside on the boardwalk. We looked up and saw my cousin Alex walk by with his sketchbook, presumably on his way to Epcot to meet up with my dad and everyone else.

We decided to take the chocolate mousse cake we got up to the room to eat (I cannot believe I did not take any photos, I ALWAYS take photos of my food, even on a random Wednesday I will take pics, but not now apparently!)
We had some milk in the room and ate the yummy cake while we decided what else we needed to do. My mom tried on her outfit so we could decide on accessories and then she pulled out the ironing board and made my Disney Bride shirt.

Next we headed back to my place where Jeff was trying to get together all the music for the reception. he was getting really antsy because my mom and I were just chilling talking and not going shopping like we told him we were going to do. He apparently though we needed to do a lot more stuff than we did.
My mom sewed on the fabric flowers she had made onto my shoes. Here is a before and after photo:

Vickiespicturesofwedding001.jpg

(this was before my pedicure)

and here is a pick of me in the shirt and my fascinator. My mom had just played around with it so that you could actually get the comb in my hair.

Vickiespicturesofwedding007.jpg

I wish we had done the iron on further up on the shirt, it was hard to tell when it was just lying on an ironing board.

Finally we all set out to Publix and picked out a yummy vanilla cake with chocolate icing. My mom insisted on getting a pic of us in front of Publix. She didn't bother to tell me that my hair looked terrible. She also got this photo printed and sent it to my grandparents. Thanks mom!

Vickiespicturesofwedding010.jpg

funny story, the cashier at Publix saw my shirt and said his fiance was a Disney Bride too. Turns out he is getting married on 10/10/10 and also using LSS for his reception site! How fun!

up next: dinner at Kouzzina

Great Update Becky! I love the "upgrade" to your sandals - so cute!

Can't wait to hear more.

Thanks Joanna, I was amazed how that one little touch made me fall in love with the shoes. I had resigned myself to just being content that they were the right color.

Saturday February 6th, 2010 Part 2

So I thought I would touch on the welcome bags in this post before I got to our dinner

After we got the cake we still needed to swing by Saratoga Springs so I could show my ID and drop off a welcome bag for my aunt, uncle and cousins who would now not be arriving until about midnight. Now let me share about my welcome bags. I went gung ho on making three to drop off at the Boardwalk on Wednesday night for the Thursday arrivals, and then I just didn’t make anymore. I had all the stuff in bags, but hadn’t printed out anymore welcome letters or tags to put on the bags. When I went to go make another one I discovered I hadn’t saved the welcome letter so I had to scan the one I gave my parents. It meant that the colors were a bit off and I had to photoshop out the crease, but it worked. Here is the scan of the letter.

welcomeletter2.jpg

I also included a map of the Boardwalk with a star showing where the ceremony site was and a map of the whole Epcot Resort area showing the way to the International Gateway for the dessert party, it also listed shops and restaurants too.
Here’s a pic of the outside of the bag with the little tag I made:

MonFeb15193404AmericaNew_York2010.jpg

In the bags I had:
Pin lanyards
Ponchos
Candy crayons
Hot cocoa
Face wipes
Some bags had other random items as well, like Boardwalk key chains for our parents.

So I ended up creating a bag to drop off at Saratoga and then one to bring to dinner to give to Jeff’s family.
My parents hadn't gotten theirs at check in so they had to check with the front desk after I mentioned it. I know everyone else got theirs because some of my cousins used the ponchos on Friday and when I met up with my other aunt, uncle and cousins on Sunday my cousin was wearing his pin lanyard.

While we were at Saratoga I went to check out the spa since I had an appointment there the next morning. I had never been before so we popped in and I asked where I was supposed to park. They gave me a vague confused answer, but I kinda figured out what they meant. I just had no idea how I would get from where they were saying to the entrance of the spa. Well turns out they neglected to mention the small door across the lobby from the main entrance we had come in that leads out to the DVC tour area.
With that settled we headed back to the Boardwalk with the cake.
