Well, let's see. I think I will start my report with my last day of work....
Thursday February 4th 2010.
We had our monthly staff meeting in the morning and at the end of the meeting I was presented with a card and a mini cake!
I ended up throwing out the cake as it said it needed to be eaten by the next day and I had no interest in any cake until the wedding day :mickbar:
Then my boss said "And she
will be going home at noon"
Awesome!
My parents and grandpa were not arriving until around 2pm so once I left work I headed home and used my time to make all of my placecards and clean out my car. I was really happy about having time to clean all the trash out of my car since I knew I would be driving a lot of people around for the next few days!
So I ate a quick lunch, put on the American Idol from the night before and set to work making placecards! I decided to print the names on a clear label and I searched for the Crayola font, but the only one I found you had to buy and I didn't want to pay for a font just for placecards. I ended up finding a font that looked like it had been written in crayon and decided to go with that one.
Here's a pic of some completed cards I took as I was working on them:
My mom called a few times. First to say they were waiting in line for DME and then she called when they got into their room. She had exciting news at that point. Their rooms were overlooking our ceremony site! So cool. My parents and grandpa had a 2 bedroom villa so they had three balconies overlooking the Croquet Lawn. We decided that I would head on over and bring my dress so that we could hang it in their closet and see if we needed to worry about wrinkles. I had put it on a chair in our living room as soon as I brought it home and hadn't taken it out of the bag.
I met my mom in the Boardwalk parking lot and we brought the dress up to the room. It looked awesome when we got it out of the bag so I was glad I never got around to arranging for a steaming lol. At this point it was getting close to 5pm and we had 550pm reservations at Narcoossee's so we headed out to the Grand Flo. Jeff wasn't off until 5:30 so he was meeting us there. He ended up getting out 15 mins early and arrived right before we did so we caught up to him on the path. We were meeting my mom's college roommate and my grandpas former neighbors who apparently have been living in Orlando for the past 20 years.
We had a really nice dinner. Surprisingly Jeff had never been there before! It serves all his favorite food so I was really shocked at that. I had been before with my parents and my mom's roommate. I got the fillet and Jeff got the shrimp etouffee . I didn't take any pics of the main course apparently. Then for dessert I had the chocolate mousse cake. yumm!
After we were done and paid we still sat around FOREVER while the old folks talked. Jeff left right after we paid to go run by DTD and pick up the toasting flutes and photo frames we had ordered at Arribas Bros the evening before. Finally, 2 minutes before fireworks we all got up lol. The neighbors headed home and the rest of us went out to the patio to watch a slightly obscured and rather chilly 'Wishes'
After Wishes we headed inside and I bought the black Dooney and Bourke wristlet since Summer Lace is the only place I had been able to find it, and my grandpa searched for a new belt. He had left his belt at security at Newark airport and when he went back someone else had claimed it! He wanted a reversable belt so we decided to have Jeff buy one while he was out shopping the next day.
We did however stop at Walgreens so they could all get breakfast food and milk. My mom was super psyched about the full kitchen in their villa! Finally I dropped them off at the Boardwalk, where I was a little disturbed by the way the vallets jump on your car when you pull in, so after that night I told them I wouldn't pull up front anymore!
I headed home and arrived actually just before Jeff as they couldn't find the picture frames we had ordered and he had to wait while they searched. He did get them though and they turned out great. They were our gifts to our parents.
We headed to bed with each of us having a large to-do list for the next day that needed to be done before our Biergarten reservations
