Hey!

My parents are taking me my lil sis and my partner to WDW in ... ... ... JULY!! we know it'll be boiling (being brits we enjoy being hot sweaty and turning redder than mickey's trousers as long as we go brown and crispy afterwards!) so that's not my major concern. What I wanna know is what you guys do to not get caught up in crowds too much! I can tell by reading you're all Disney Soldiers and I know you'll know exactly what to do!!

TIA!
David

If you don't want to be caught up in crowds get to the parks when they first open you'll have a good hour to an hour and a half before the crowds get really bad. After that you'll need to use the Fastpass sysyem to your advantage until the crowds thin out sone in the evening. If you are staying on property I would suggest going back to your resort by about 11:30 and going back later when the heat subsides. Hope this helps.

If your are staying on the grounds, use Extra Magic Hour, and Fast Pass. I would suggest leaving during the hottest(also busiest) time of the day, and returning when the people who didn't do that are leaving.

I'll just echo the sentiments here: arrive early, take advantage of EMH if you're staying on property, use fastpass and take breaks in the middle of the day to recharge the batteries...those are probably the best suggestions I can offer...

Also take a look at Bob Sehlinger's unofficial guide to Disney (www.amazon.co.uk) - the number of tips to overcome crowds is mind boggling, which I think is a good thing.

I will agree with everyone else. Get to the park of your choice before it opens.
Another good idea is to be at the park an hour or so before closing. We were at the Studios last June on a Sunday night and it got really quiet. We were able to ride TOT with almost no wait.
Have a great time!

Also ... be sure to read your WDW guide and make a list of what rides you MUST see, what you'd LIKE to see, and what you DON'T CARE if you see. That way, you won't waste valuable time trying to decide if a certain ride is worth the wait or worth coming back for. I know it seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people stand in line for 75 minutes only to emerge from the ride saying, "I didn't even want to go ON that one!" :p

Having a "must see" list also helps when you're trying to decide on which rides to Fast Pass, and it can help you get around the park much more efficiently.

Ah ... daffodils. If only we here in FL had the soil you all have in UK -- then I could grow daffodils and tulips too! Alas, it's all sandy and porous down here :(
