Be Our Guest Breakfast Price Increase

That's insane! Isn't that like a 25% increase? I'm keeping my pre-park ADR but will just be having the $5 cupcake instead of the breakfast entree I had planned on.

And this is what many will do .... all because Disney didn't open this breakfast as advertised - "prix fixe" ...

If they had followed through on Prix Fixe with a reasonable price they wouldn't be in the financial situation they are that they have to keep raising the prices to makeup for non-eaters.

Better yet, folks will go in as parties of 4 and order 2 cupcakes and cups of water. Total sale $10. o_O

Well the restaurant is consistent - it continues to be a cluster ... over 3 years after opening.

1. Probably not for long if lots of people go this route, which they probably will.

2. I seriously doubt it, and you shouldn't. But, crazier things have happened.

Called last night and it's fixed prices. But an adult can order a kids meal. It's still a $14 bowl do cereal though... Comes with "complimentary" terrible looking pastries that looked like they were shipped from walmart's bakery.

Edit: I called back and that is wrong. You can order whatever you want, not obligated to order a full meal.

I called last night about this but I guess they were wrong. BUT you CAN just order coffee, you're not obligated to order any certain meal. You can just order the $5 cupcake. Because it's a la carte.

There is a difference in fixed prices and prix fixe.

The "fixed prices" they have and have always had, only means that every meal is the same price. One price adults and one price kids. But no requirement.

The restaurant was announced to be "Prix Fixe" which means one price per person and everyone HAS to pay. They did not follow up with that, so folks shared, spent little and now they have to raise prices ... again.

Thank goodness my boyfriend and I make do with breakfast in our room!

Not sure what you mean? As of now when I called Disney, you don't have to pay that price for breakfast or lunch. They said it's a la carte and if I wanted, I could get coffee and a cupcake (and that's it.)

If the drinks really are now a la carte compared to entree, it means the price increase is even crazier than just $24 for the breakfast. Make sure you add $2,50 for a beverage.

:crazy2:

In other words, while the pastries come with an entree now, they've kind of given up on price fixe.

I would venture that a large majority of the people who go before park opening do so because they get in early and have easy access to 7DMT. Might as well just charge a premium or require a minimum spend for the premium time slot. Cancellation during that slot would equate to the minimum spend.

Or if they really want more revenue, offer up a limited number of pre-opening passes! EarlyExtraMagicHour. If you are reading this Disney, I'm available for consulting work!!

Let me see if I get this...a family can make a pre park opening ADR here and order 1 cup of coffee? Cannot imagine anyone paying out of pocket for the meals. I might spring for a cupcake. Not interested in early access to any attractions but it would be worth some overpriced coffee & a cupcake to see a mostly empty mainstreet.

What's worse is that there will actually be people who DO want a full breakfast there, with added benefit of pre-party entry, that will have to compete with folks doing exactly that.

Makes me wonder how long Disney keep this up, to be honest, before they make it a true PF meal, no a la carte, for PPO.

I could see them making it ADR for PPO (obviously, as it's the only way into the park), but requiring use of a credit for each person on the ADR, then letting it be a la carte (but still an ADR, probably) after park open.

Since May '15's menu, entrees have increased from $20 to $24 and now exclude all beverages (and they run $2.50/coffee and $3/soda). If you stick with the low-end coffee, you are facing a new cost of $26.50 or a 32% increase!!

For kids, it's even worse if they exclude the beverage (which would be odd, but no unprecedented at sit downs) - entrees have increased from $12 to $14 and now you need to pay the $2.50 extra. So, you are facing a new cost of $16.50 or a 37.5% increase!!

Pastry platter comes with the adult breakfast entrees. You have to order the entree to get the pastries. Most entrees also come with fresh fruit cup and a drink.

The difference is that up until now, you had to order an entree to even get in the door. Not anymore, according to the new menu. You can order a drink, or a cupcake and get in. That's what the post was referring to. Many have reported in the past of ordering only kid's meals and still getting the pastry tray.

Also, according to the new menu, there is some question as to whether a drink is included anymore, or if you have to order a drink seperately.

If it were a TS restaurant, I wouldn't bat an eye about paying that price. If you want me to fight a crowd, find a table, get my own drinks and utensils, I'm not paying it. But then again, I don't eat at buffets either, again you want me to serve myself? I can do that at home thank you very much. We have never been huge fans of this place, we did lunch when it first opened up before they started taking ADRs. We were hungry, we had plenty of time, there was a line we thought what the heck lets try it. We weren't impressed. When the breakfast menu came out we thought, well that sounds decent, a full breakfast in the park before it opens, let's try it. We weren't impressed and my son and DIL were very adamant about me not EVER making an early morning ADR again.

Seriously? Is it April fools already or are they for real? $24.00 for a doughnut? This is the #1 reason y we will never do breakfast at BOG, lol...we try for dinner reservations and if we can't get them oh well, lol. If you want a pre park opening ADR go to Crystal Palace, lol

Okay, since we're now pretty sure you don't have to order the entree and can get by with just a cup of coffee, my guess is they will stop having pre-opening ADRs and it will become just like the other QS restaurants in MK and open AT park opening. The question then becomes whether there is still a need for an ADR or people just walk up, again, like any other QS eaterie.

So, two questions that are somewhat related, and I hope someone goes soon to try it:

Can you really just go and order only the cupcake and maybe a drink with no entrees at all?

If so, will you still get the pastry platter or does the platter only come with an entree order?
The cupcake is new for breakfast, so nobody really knows if it comes with the pastry plate yet.

Generally speaking, never trust the folks on the phone. They've likely never even been to Florida.

We definitely all would have ordered breakdast here but with those prices our only choice is to cancel all together or order just coffees for family not on DPP! This is absolutely crazy pricing! Does it include the beast and Belle and larger portions?! I'd consider it (sadly enough) for those perks..

Here's another crazy thought that would not surprise me. I'm willing to bet there will be people more than willing to book their ADR at BOG, gain early entry into the MK and then not even show up at BOG and pay the $10 per person penalty rather than pay $27 for a few pastries, a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee or soda. I can hear it now, "It was so worth it to pay $50 for my family of 5 just to walk down an empty Main Street and be first in line for 7DMT."
