Wow....will it ever end
Next on the list of ways to recover Shanghai overruns...surge meal pricing. Have a pre-opening ADR..enjoy that 2.5x multiplier!

I wonder if the drink prices are just so they can charge people who are sharing a meal.Another change to the menu is that all the drinks have prices now. Used to be only special ones had prices. Does that mean one drink is not complimentary any longer? Hey, but Look! You can get a grey stuff topped cupcake at breakfast now!
Has BOG breakfast ever been sold out? I haven't seen complaints about breakfast. Honestly, I can get a reservation for 5 of the next seven days. It's not difficult.Gosh, I can't help but feel like this is a direct reaction to the MAJOR dissatisfaction that folks expressed in not being able to get reservations at this restaurant. People were behaving online and everywhere else like it was going to be the end-all be-all of their vacation if they didn't eat breakfast there...so many letters written to Guest Service, etc. from irate Guests - they HAVE to do something about the craziness.

You might be remembering about lunch. Breakfast has always been easy to book. Of course, pre-park breakfasts are often difficult to find, but during park house is easy.Last year, it was practically impossible to get breakfast reservations there and people had an absolute fit all over the internet. It's much easier now, but I still think that's where this stems from and if a business *can* make more money, they will.
I have to admit I am a sucker for pre park opening. I love the walk down main street and the castle in an semi empty park. Perfect for pictures, etc. I'm sure when we are on the DDP again with my family of 5, we will cave and book another BOG breakfastSure these prices are absolutely crazy, but what is even crazier are those who smoke the pixie dust and will keep paying these prices just to "experience" the castle and early entry. There seems to be no breaking point yet when it comes to things like this or the Wishes Dessert Party to name a few. Disney continues to raise the prices and the masses keep on adding to their coffers.

While I would agree for the most part. We were in and out of BOG quickly. I always feel like we spend way to much time at character meals and CP just doesn't do it for my family.I am too, but I'd much rather pay a few more dollars and go to CP than this offering at BOG... But to each their own.
BTW - it looks like Lunch entrees went up $2 as well
ETA: So did the cupcakes
Most likely, but I haven't looked at the dinner prices in over a year so I wasn't sure. I was just looking at lunch ones yesterday for budgeting purposes.Looks like dinner prices went up too, right? I don't recall the steak being $35 before but haven't had dinner there in a while. But $24 for a breakfast sandwich is crazy.

Yeah, just noticed the lunch price increase too (though someone else already mentioned). I will say that we really enjoyed our lunch there last October, though we were on the DDP. Lunch is now as expensive as The Plaza. Most likely, but I haven't looked at the dinner prices in over a year so I wasn't sure. I was just looking at lunch ones yesterday for budgeting purposes.
