Pam we love you!! But the BCV Rocks!!! If you have kids, that pool is the best. All the others are a joke in comparison.

There are some REAL prima-donnas on this board. People take criticism of a resort as personally as someone insulting their wife/husband/kids ! Are these people's identities so closely tied to their time-share purchase as it seems (a select few people I am referring to)? If so, maybe counseling would be a good idea? To accuse the OP of "Trying to increase the value of his OKW points by bashing BCV, its like a couple of 10 year old arguing over whose daddy is better.

Cmon people, enjoy your purchase and let people have their opinions (and for those few referenced above - get a life!)

RuthnPaul, timC and Tagrel - great comments! I wasn't going to post on this thread since it adds to keeping it at the top of the page but I did want to remind people that the ignore feature is a wonderful thing.

While looking through a thread I get a lovely box that says this user is on my ignore list and if I decide to be adventurous I still have the option to view the comment. I just recently put it into use and love this feature.

Please don't mix up the OP with Pam. PamOKW and Pa@okw95 are different people.

Hmmm... notice the OP hasn't responded back - at all?!? Some folks just like to stir the water & then walk away.

Now for my opinion (if anyone cares) we stayed @ BCV last fall on rented points. A month or so before we left there were lots of bad reports here. I was so worried about going. I had talked DH into renting points from someone we'd never met, sent a check to a complete stranger, our entire vacation was in a strangers hands, then I was reading all the bad reports. I just knew the trip would be bad. When we got there, the CM (who was fabulous) let DH look at the 2 rooms that were avail. to see which we wanted, (didn't get my EPC. view, but vacation not ruined yet), room was clean, loved the pool, at night DH & I would sit on balcony while the kids went to sleep & enjoy a drink or 2 ;) , there were spiders on the ceiling of the balcony - kinda creepy, but we are in Florida so we expected bugs - trip still not ruined, we had a quiet pool view & would get a little loud @ night - I wouldn't want that view again, but guess what - My trip still wasn't ruined. I had a few things that I didn't really like (or just didn't go my way) but my trip was by no means ruined (how could it be ? I'm @ WDW)& I would definitely go back to BCV. I'm sure if I had gotten out my white gloves & went through our studio with a fine tooth comb, I could've found problems - but I'm on vacation & I don't have time for that - some people do. I now try to take neg. reports with a grain of salt. Some people just like to focus on the negative, Believe me, I know - I have quite a few in my family:rolleyes: Ok - I'm done!:teeth:

Oh & even with the few things that didn't go my way, we still had such a great time, we have purchased 180 pts @ SSR - & guess what - now there are tons of neg comments about that resort. go figure.

I have been avoiding posting on this thread since I have given my opinion on other threads to the constant negativity of the OP to a resort that they haven't even stayed at.

But, since someone was looking at the number of posters with positive experiences. I just wanted to mention once again that I have been lucky enough to go to BCV many times and have had beautifully well maintained room and wonderful helpful Cast Members every time!

imho pa seems to post only negative comments, which usually does not matter to me, not everyone is happy with wdw all the time
HOWEVER, i do take some exception to the thread that seems to be common to many of the op's posts about how wdw has only been going downhill since the expansion out of okw and the marketing as a way to have quality vacations at a lower price
i feel the op has a real bias against anyone not in the upper 10% income bracket, take notice of how the op posts about the value resorts
not all of us dvc are rich, dw and i both work, and are middle class in income, being childless does allow us a larger % of disposable income than many, but we were not born with a silver spoon in our mouths, dw is a farmers daughter and i am the son of a policeman, neither occupation was noted for how lavish you lived
my dvc didn't come to me from a salary, or inheritance, it came by working overtime, to us the sacrifice and hours were worth it
so i feel anyone reading pa posts should take into account the bias against the expansion of wdw and the expansion of dvc in particular the inclusion of the less than wealthy into the dvc membership family

We like the variety of DVC and hope to try all the resorts at one point. We own at BWV and love it there.

We've stayed at VWL and didn't care for it.

We've stayed at OKW and liked it, but didn't love it like some do.

We've got stays booked at both Vero and BCV this December and I'm looking forward to checking them our for myself.

Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I will listen to the opinions only of those I trust. I don't really trust the opinion of someone who is always negative and also who has never experienced what they are complaining about.

LOL!! I will accept that a lot of Pa@OKW's post tend to be rather grumpy in tone and he can be opinionated - Sorry Pa:teeth: But really, I don't think he is waging a one man crusade to make OKW the most desirable DVC resale - just in case he's planning to sell sometime in the future!

We have vacationed at our BCV home once and had dinner at Cape May several times. The CM's have always been very nice and we have always received very good service.

My feelings can take care of themselves very nicely. But I worry about newcomers to this board, newcomers to DVC and potential DVC members who read trollish postings and, not knowing the context, lose confidence in DVC or try to change their travel plans.

When I first got here, Richyams nearly had me convinced that I should only look to a OKW resale. We found one, it fell through, but a BWV resale was available for the same price, same number of points, and I was anxious, so I bought.

I think I'd have been happy at OKW. But I'm happy at BWVs as well.

The other thing I was almost convinced of was that I didn't want people who behaved like this as neighbors sharing an "investment" with me. That was at the peak of the "trash in the hall, towels on the balcony, "stealing" pool towels, five in a room, I give a damn what my neighbors do" movement. I couldn't believe a group of people could be so petty.

People here can speak with so much authority on a subject that its easy to convince yourself that they must be right - even when they are wrong.

Looking at the stats, and even giving room for the self selecting sample, I'd say you are more likely to have problems at BCV than most other DVC resorts.....but that you are still more likely to have a wonderful trip without problems. And perhaps SAB or the location or just being at the BC makes a greater risk worthwhile.

I think BCV stays booked most of the time, due to SAB & the size of it (very much in demand). Due to that it probably doesn't give maintenance as many opportunities to fix some of the small problems. I think if people would report them - the majority would be fixed, but some people just like to complain regardless.

Ahhh, the good ole days. Thanks, OP, for stirring things up. I needed a good laugh today!

Ahhh, the good ole days. Thanks, OP, for stirring things up. I needed a good laugh today! One good thing has happened here. I've finally read alot of good things about BCV. I'm not trying to bash any resort, but ya gotta admit, BCV has had it's share of bad reports lately. Maybe we all should do a better job of reporting the positives about our trips.

And, as for why Pa hasn't responded back yet - he's probably looking for his flame retardent suit.

We stayed in a 2br this past July and we cannot rave enough about the accomodations. DH is used to staying in 5 star hotels and he was impressed with the layout and the cleanliness. In fact, we're can't wait to go back in Feb.

I, too, have been guilty of not posting an "everything was perfect " room report. And it was. The CM's couldn't have been more accomodating and said "Welcome Home" many times. We are thrilled that BCV is our home resort!

Come on admit it....isn't Grumpy everyones favorite dwarf? SW sure loved him.

We own at BCV and have stayed 3 or 4 times. We had a problem with our first 2BR stay that had to do with lock-offs/dedicated 2 queens/dedicated sofa bed rooms. We ended up moving twice during our 10 day stay. After speaking with the desk, I felt they went over and above in making-up for our problems. We were very happy with the treatment we received following the mix-up.

Other stays BCV were fine. I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, thats not DVC to me. I prefer courtious professional service when required, and then I like to be left alone. I don't want housekeeping knocking every hour to check on my trash.

Our last stay was split between OKW and BCV. I see no real difference in the treatment or quality of the units except for size and points required...which is better at OKW. I like both resorts.

Just wanted to add that I've stayed at the BCV twice, the most recent this past July, and have no complaints. Both stays were wonderful, and my brother and his family said it was their best Disney vacation ever. I've also stayed at OKW, VWL and the BWV, and had great stays there. I guess I'm just so happy to be away from the hassles of real life that even minor inconvenieces don't bother me, like the time our patio at OKW was right next to four airconditioning units!:D
