We just got back from our first stay using DVC points. Eight of us (plus a toddler) stayed in a 2-bedroom villa at BCV for six nights last week. It was awesome. A couple of minor issues, but in the end it was a great stay at a beautiful resort.

We checked in at 9:00 am on our first day. Our room was not ready yet, which was no big deal considering how early we arrived. They had some sort of problem printing out our room keys and had to enter our info 2 or 3 times.
I think we were there for like 20 or 25 minutes. It was a little annoying, but we were not at all angry and did not complain a bit, mostly because we were just happy to be there and didn't really have anything pressing to do anyway. The CMs were very apologetic about the computer glitch/delays and at the end said, "By the way, there will be a $150 credit on your room account for the inconvenience." Sweet! It bought us some nice souvenirs. My wife and I both agreed that we would gladly hang out at the front desk for another 20 minutes if they would keep throwing money at us.

We only had one minor issue with the room. The seal on the refrigerator fell out and the door wouldn't close properly. Maintenance came up and fixed it later in the day. Otherwise, the room was in great shape. Everything was clean and in working order.

The room was suprisingly spacious. We were at maximum occupancy, and I feared that we were going to feel cramped, but it wasn't the case. By spreading out and going to the bedrooms and telling the kids to play on the balcony, it was more than enough room.

Beach Club is a great place. We all loved it and can't wait to go back.:cloud9:

Just wondering did you do online checkin? Also where was your room. We are staying in a 2bdr in june.

Glad to hear that there were no major issues...Nice that they "took care of you"!!!

Staying at BCV, 1 night post cruise mid August! Can't wait!!! Love Stormalong Bay!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Glad they took care of you...another example of not having to yell and scream to try to get something for nothing. It is much more enjoyable when they throw some magic your way and you aren't demanding/expecting it! :thumbsup2

We actually didn't use online check in. We generally check into resorts very early in the morning and have never experienced lines at that time of day. I think we probably would have done online check in if we were arriving later in the day. We noticed a lot of long lines during the afternoons/evenings.

We were in a dedicated 2 BR in room 433, which is a woods view (with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower through the trees). It was a nice location.

Enjoy your stay in June!

And that's one of many reasons we keep coming back! I'm not going to say that no other hotels or companies do this sort of thing, but they certainly don't do it with the consistency that Disney does. A $150 credit for a very minor inconvenience is way above and beyond, imho.

That sounds like a great way to end a trip! Stormalong Bay is so cool. The only downside is that Stormalong Bay has spoiled all other pools for my kids forever:rotfl2:

And it is probably because the OP was kind and patient about the hiccup that they offered it. I have also figured out that by maintaining my childhood habits of 'yes sirs' and 'no ma'ams' people will tend to go out of their way to take care of you. I have gotten out of so many speeding tickets over the years by simply treating the officer with respect.

YES it is!!:cool1: We actually own at BLT but we stayed at BCV for the 1st time in March of this year and we LOVED it! Amazing service and a beautiful, clean hotel with the best dining and pool on property! We're going back in Sept. and I can't wait! DH didn't get to go with us in March but he's going in Sept. I can't wait for him to see the resort and how nice it is to be so close to Epcot! Congrats on a wonderful stay! Thanks! April

Hi ryels,
I agree BCV is a wonderful resort.:woohoo: Sounds like you had a nice trip and good to hear that you were compensated for the time you had to wait. That is what makes Disney fantastic for customer service. :goodvibes Thanks for sharing!

We love BCV too. It's one of our DVC homes. We have found the CMs there to be very friendly and they surprised DDil, DS on one of their trips by giving them 1 park 1 day tickets for the family, that's 2 adults and 3 kids, and they spent their first family day at Epcot!

In 2 weeks Dh and I will be there, with our oldest DGD (8)!

We were in a dedicated 2br in October, facing the courtyard, room 401. Even being in one of the rooms "farthest out" from the elevator it was really great. We had 3 separate balconies - one off each BR and one off the living room. I loved waking early, sitting on a balcony and watching the bell services area and mousekeeping shift changes. So much to see with CMs and guests coming and going. It really gave me a glimpse into what goes into running the place.

Love it!

Glad you liked it!:thumbsup2
I think the hotel management and staff at BCV are superb.
