Ok, who all is going to braces the malls for the candle sale at Bath and Body which is supposedly this Saturday? I am planning to and want to know what to except. Should one arrive one hour before the opening of the store? Will it be beyond mobbed? I have gotten the 20% off email like most everyone else so I think we can use it on the candles or not?

Give me your tips, tricks, and such on what to do and how to get what you want this Saturday.

I live an hour from my nearest B&BW so I don't always make it to this sale. I have, however, made a point to go twice during recent years. The first year I went about 1/2 hour before closing. Selections were obviously slimmer but I still got good scents and the best part was zero crowd at my store.

The second year it seems like I decided around mid morning that I should make the trek for the candles. It was crowded but at my store it was manageable. Personally I wouldn't go and wait an hour before opening but that's just my opinion; I'm sure that varies by person. And yes I used a coupon both times.

I did not realize B&BW got that packed to have to go 1 hr before opening. I always stock up through out the year and have never seen people lined up outside.

I think it just depends on your location as to how packed it’ll be. There are 3 locations all within 5 miles of each other where I live, so the only one that’s kind of full is the one in our outdoor mall located near Arizona State University. Otherwise, the others are very quiet, especially early.

I usually go around opening (10 am) to every (good) sale to the location closest to my home, it’s a little over a mile away, and it’s never packed. It’s usually just me and a few others who wander in. They just have way too much competition since they’re in our mall, which is massive.

I would expect that if your location is crowded on any other big sale date (like during the hand soap or body lotion sales), it’ll be way more crowded on Saturday. I’ve read online that many people plan to bring wagons and extra people to stock up and get around the limit. I’ve never seen anyone with that level of dedication at any of my local stores, so I’m just preparing for a small crowd. Maybe a long checkout line if I don’t get there by 10:30.

Wow, wagons. Just wow.

Additional coupons can't be used on the candles.

Additional coupons can't be used on the candles.

Usually you can in store and you can use multiple coupons if they come on the same mailer. Online you will not be able to use coupons because usually you have to use a code to get the discounted price.

I would definitely call your store to see what time they open depending on how busy that store gets they may open earlier then the mall. Last year both of the stores near me opened at 8 am and the mall opened at 10. I heard there are some stores in the area opening at 6 am. Some stores will also let you put an order on hold the night before, so check for that. If they don't have the scent you want just buy a random candle and you can do an even exchange at a later date. I know some people go the last hour and pick up any candle and then go back later when more stock is out and exchange.

Also forgot to add that you can also use expired coupons up to 3 days old. If you have the mailer with the free item and the $15 off of $40, buy 5 candles and one item up to $13.50 use both coupons and pay $29.75 or $5.95 a candle. This is what I plan to do.

they are usually 2 for $ 20 through at the year. Is that all the sale or are you then using one of their 10 off 30 or whatever?

Yes this is usually the cheapest time to buy them combined with coupon. I just posted what I'm going to do using the $15 off of $40 coupon and free item coupon. Using the 10 off 30 you could buy 4 and pay $6.45 a candle before tax.

Was going to use the 20% off coupon, (which will be expired, but) and plan on the candles being a little more than 8.95. I could be wrong, hopefully so.

I know people go all crazy for BBW candles but I think they are terrible. They burn down the middle and leave an outside ring of wax. Woodwick candles and many others burn evenly and are superior IMO. I get my candles at TJ Maxx or Ross usually.

My daughter is into Fragrant Jewel candles and those burn really well.

My store won't let me use coupons on deals like that ($2.50 soap, $8.95 candles) because they already use a special code in the register. Anything else I would buy I could use the coupons, but they have to be done as two different transactions ~ candles in one and everything else in a separate one.

Some can use coupons, some can't. I think I will call my store today and ask.

Unless the sale specifically states "no additional discounts apply" I would argue that. All the stores that I have visited in my area have accepted the coupon for the $2.50 soap and the $3.95 body wash sales.

I avoid going between 11 am and 2pm. I tend to go right when they open, dinner hour or closing. Good luck!!

I have a separate White Barn store (attached to a BBW store), does anyone know if I can use the coupons in there?
I can pay for the WB candles at the BBW register, and I can pay for BBW stuff at the WB registers so I'm assuming I can. Just wondering if anyone here knows for sure.

I was thinking about this scenario. Since I don't have much money this year for this candle sale, I am only going to be getting like 5-6 of the Crushed Candy Cane or another Peppermint scent to last me through December and into January. And I am thinking about not getting to the store at opening and if my preferred scent is not available, just go ahead and get 5-6 of another scent. Then the following week go and exchange those candles for my preferred scent if it is back in stock. Should work shouldn't it?

I mean if this would work, I could see buying up a whole lot of candles to store and then exchange them for scents you would want later in the spring or summer?
