Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

Oh my goodness, Emma, that cake topper is adorable! I have never seen anything like it before! I can't believe how life-like the dress looks!

Wow - 45 days!!! :goodvibes

I totally agree!!! They're adorable. I have my cake topper in my china cabinet. I picked it up beforehand from the caterer and I hand painted the couple to look more like us. I think it came with generic brown hair, so I made the groom blond and gave him a mustache and I painted my hair black, and I painted the flowers to look like mine. The dress didn't look like mine though, but I couldn't do anything about that. The dress has a satin skirt on the statuette.

Aww how cute are they, well done on those they look fabulous :)

Oh My Gosh.... EMMA... you are just the sweetest... Thank you so much for sending me the Twinings Royal Wedding Commemorative blend!! I posted a pic of it on facebook! I was so surprised when the DHL man came. I'm so glad my son in law was home to answer the door because I was in the shower! Why does the doorbell always ring when you're in the shower?:confused3

I don't know why when I take a cell phone pic, the color is always so washed out.. but here it is. It is such an elegent tin too!

I'm glad you realised that if DF saw it he would be able to see what your dress would look like - I would never think of things like that! :lmao:

Thank you so much ladies!!

I ordered them from a website called Art Locke Designs - in February 2010!! after booking our venue & wedding insurance, this was the first thing we purchased! ... a few weeks ago I sent back the questionnaire (hair colours, flowers, outfits, heights etc) plus several photos of us.. the football scarf & my mouse ears lol.
The lady is going to finish it this weekend so it should be delivered next week! can't wait to see it ... it'll be a great souvenir of our wedding too as it'll last forever :cloud9:

Have you tried the tea or is it for 'display'?!

WOW your cake topper is GORGEOUS!! So pretty!! Can't wait to see it finished!

Hi! Thank you .. I really hope the lady does finish it this weekend, I cannot wait to see the finished topper! :goodvibes
Btw I've just found your PJ and reading through all the amazing details :surfweb: - we will have the same wedding anniversary date! :lovestruc

So.... this weekend - I have my next dress fitting!! :woohoo:
I'm going to the bridal shop tomorrow with my sister, Mum & Dad (first time he'll see me in a wedding dress!) - I have my shoes & tiara ready so I can try everything on together :bride:

I'm also having my hair cut & high-lighted tomorrow morning.. my hairdresser suggested having my highlights done 6 weeks before the wedding, then just touch up the roots 2 days before.. cannot believe we're at the 6 weeks mark now!

We've had pretty much all of the RSVP cards back now from our guests so I'm starting to put together a table plan :goodvibes
Also, we've been able to 'upgrade' some of our evening guests to full day invites!! It's been really fun to phone them up this week and ask if they're able to join us for the whole day, not just the evening reception :cutie:

Due to the additional guests, we need one more table .. and a table name!
I'm thinking.. "Kidani" - as we're staying at AKV on the first night of honeymoon? :cloud9:

Happy weekend everyone... 6 weeks and counting!!

Emma princess: x

:woohoo: on it being 6 weeks!!

Enjoy the dress fitting and getting your hair done!

I think Kidani as the extra table name is a great idea! Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Had a really lovely weekend! Hair has been trimmed and high-lighted, next appointment will be 2 days before the big day! :woohoo:

Dress fitting was great - the length is perfect now & the extra beading/decoration on the skirt has been finished.. the seamstress is going to add a couple more decorations on the train - and I'm picking it up in 2 weeks time!! :goodvibes
My parents really loved the dress.. I'm still so pleased with my choice, can't wait for DF to see me in it :bride:
(will post a few pics soon from the fitting)

and... the cake topper is finished!!

It's perfect - it'll be put in the post tomorrow so we should have it by the end of the week :thumbsup2

We've also had another gift in our Honeymoon gift registry! Dinner at 'Ohana :cloud9:

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

The finished topper looks great! And yay for dinner at 'Ohana! :goodvibes

Oh, and I'm very jealous that you have all of your RSVP's back! I've actually been pretty impressed with how quickly people are turning them in, but I've still got a lot to go and my RSVP date is about a week and a half away. I mostly just want to get the seating arrangements figured out!

The cake topper is amazing! :thumbsup2 I absolutely love it...though good call on hiding it so he doesn't get an idea of the dress! :rotfl2:

Glad the dress fitting went well and hope you're hanging in there now that you're almost down to the wire! Just think, in another month you'll be a "Mrs" enjoying a magical honeymoon!:goodvibes

I LOVE the cake topper!!!

Hi Courtney, thank you! - it'll be so nice to be eating our meal at 'Ohana and thinking "our friends bought us this dinner!" :cutie:
I had a go at our table plan last week, it wasn't too hard.. the venue suggests 8 - 11 people per table, but I think we'll need to have some 7s as it works better for family/friend groups :thumbsup2 ... it was also weird writing my name on the Top Table as my married name :yay: !!

Hi! Thank you - I love being able to say 'next month' when people ask me when the wedding is!! not long at all now... 5 weeks to go & then we'll be jetting off to Disney - sooo excited!:cloud9:

Hi all,

Not much to update on this week.. got to that 'in between' stage where it's so close but there's not much left to plan! :cutie:

The cake topper arrived & is fantastic - I've also bought all the sweets for our candy buffet.

Our family members have picked their readings for the ceremony, we're having:

"The Art of a Good Marriage"
"The One"
and "On Your Wedding Day"

I've been making cds of music that will be played when we're having the wedding breakfast - just quiet background music :goodvibes
It's a mix of... Albinoni, Rodrigo, Dvorak, Copland.. and a few subtle Disney pieces ;) .. "Anyone can cook" Ratatouille, Soarin' theme, "Waiting for the Lights" score Tangled and "Flying" which is the theme they used for the Year of a Million Dreams :wizard:

I spoke to our DJ yesterday - he will be playing at our reception once the singer has finished.. we've asked for a mix of recent chart music, 80s pop & some classics - just keep everyone dancing really! He doesn't have our first dance song in his collection so I'm going to burn it onto a cd for him.

I also spoke to the florist this week about the wedding day.. apparently we can keep all the arrangements after the day! So I think we'll give them out to people who are staying at the hotel - centre pieces, pedestals etc :goodvibes:

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend planned!!

Hi Emma! I've just been catching up a little on all your progress toward the wedding. I think it's hilarious :rotfl: that you were at the zoo the day of the royal wedding. I thought about you all day that day. I love the cake topper! We had 2 cakes at our wedding. The top of the bridal cake was floral, but the groom's cake had....wait for it....a COW! :goodvibes One of DH's cousins did the groom's cake for us. Then instead of champagne, we had a milk toast. But some people in the back of the room did not realize it was milk and were quite concerned about how I was "chugging" down on the champagne!

I also love your candy buffet. It will be so pretty and so much fun! I think I might just have to have a party just so I can set up a buffet like that.

I've really enjoyed following along with your plans. Just love  all your details!
Lenora :)

The cake toppers are so cute. What a wonderful idea and it makes a great keepsake of your day. I wish I had done something like that. SO CUTE!

Not too many days to wait now. Before you know it, your wedding day will be here. :dance3:
