Sorry if this is a simple question, but I am just starting to try to figure out how to use points most effectively. I want to travel to WDW. I have a SW Plus Visa and Disney Premier Visa. I fly out of Manchester NH and want non-stops. Would it be more efficient to use the SW card for monthly expenses to rack up points for flights or do the same with the Disney card for rewards $?

Also I don’t not have a Jet Blue card but they are now also in Manchester with limited non-stops to MCO. Does JB have a better rewards program than SW?

I don't have an answer to your question (don't know anything about Jet Blue), but I am popping on to say that I love the Manchester NH airport! It's one of my favorites in the US.

Preparing for DH to apply for a SW card for the 100,000 point SUB. Can someone remind me what the limits Chase likes to stay with. Right now he has:
CIC, CIU and CIP with $17,000 limits between then and
CSR, CF and Hyatt with $27,500 between them for a
total of $44,500 between all cards.

Also curious which card everyone's been going with. DH and I typically fly 5-6 times a year and right now Southwest is the best option from our airport (STL). I don't know that it will stay that way in the future, but right now, it's always been our best option.

It looks like the biggest benefit of the priority card is that you select your seat at booking. That does seem like a nice benefit, but we aren't super picky about where we sit, so probably not a deal breaker to wait until 48 hours before flight to pick a seat. I'm hoping to get the companion pass quickly after January to get it active for 2026-2027. We've been alternating CP for quite a few years now and have flights planned for the end of February, so we'll have to earn it quickly to hopefully use it for those flights.

I just received an instant approval this morning with $55,000 in total credit limits on my 3 personal and 4 business cards.
Applied for the Priority so we can pick seats when booking and it looks like we get the $75 SW credit and the 4 upgraded boardings through 2025

I closed my SWA plus card 7/31 and applied and was instantly approved for SWA priority card today. I knew a bout the 4 upgraded boarding through 2025, but what is the $75 credit mentioned above?

Glad I decided to try again instead of taking the Amex upgrade on my Gold Biz, the $95 CIP fee is much better than the $695 Plat AF.

Do you all qualify for waived annual fees for military from Amex? Not even sure if that's still a thing.

How was your trip?

Fantastic. We went with a small group tour, toured around Soweto in Johannesburg for a day, Victoria Falls, Botswana, and Zambia. Perfect weather, lots of animals, nice lodgings and food, and great group of 11 people plus our guide.

Trying to sort the return flight from Shanghai out. Having similar issues as Japan, figure x out and then when I search weeks later nothing comes up. But I also kind of expected this to be the one that gets booked close in. Open to the west coast so I've looked at LAX, SFO and YVR, not just SEA.

I had thought I'd be able to book economy on dl so we have something and then sort out what to do, but even their economy prices are insane and more than I have, and it leaves me without any dl miles.

All that to ask, what site does everyone use to alert to flights opening up? I know they all have their differences and they don't work with all airlines and don't necessarily work with connecting routes which makes it more complicated to search, but I can't decide which makes the most sense to use and since there's a cost I don't want to do more than one.

Eta, still curious about the above but I think the answer is aeroplan icn to sfo or lax. Not my favorite idea, but as of now seems plan a. Will see what happens in a few weeks.

DH and I fly to Asia 1-2x/year - we’re based in San Diego. One recommendation I have is to look at one way flights - and be open to flying out if and into different West Coast airports. We tend to go business class over the Pacific, and once or twice, we have saved quite a bit this way - but be cognizant that you will want to use a card that doesn’t charge you for booking in another currency coming back to the USA if you book a one way ticket home. LAX’s international terminal has improved, but I like SFO - great for transport between terminals and (for late arrivals/early departures) there is a hyatt inside the airport, whereas LAX has zip and is painful to switch terminals. I generally track flights using kayak, but there are probably better ways.

I just realized the Citi Strata Elite gives AUs Priority Pass benefits for $75 - thats $50 less than Cap1VenX will be next year - AND with Citi you still can take 2 guests. My DS will be happy to hear this. Its also great that you don't need a Priority Pass card - just show the Citi Credit Card to get access to the lounges.

Just pushing me closer to canceling our VenXs.

Has anyone considered or looked into a Nat Geo Lindblad Expedition Cruise? The Iceland-Greenland artic expedition came on my radar and I was immediately like, I want that! But the pricetag is no joke. Any way to save on these kinds of high end expeditions?

I just transferred DH's Hawaiian Miles to his Alaska acct. But I realize now I should have transferred his HA miles to my HA acct bc he has the Barclay's card that allows for free miles transfers.

My guess is I'll trigger a fraud suspicion if I try to transfer back to HA and then from HA to myself. And he merged two HA accts just before this, so that doesn't help with the fraud algorithm, I'm sure. Any thoughts or DPs on this? I'm not in any hurry, so I could space these out if needed.

I'm looking at award flights, not purchasing. Also already looking at one way because we are starting and ending in different countries. But I rarely book anything at, even domestic is one way whether I'm paying or redeeming miles.

I'm trying to not fly all over but it's going to come down to what I can find when flights open, if I can catch it then. There doesn't seem to be a set time for aeroplan so I don't really know what to do about that.
