Banking question

The Hub is the internal intranet of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies. It is only accessible to Disney Cast Members and employees.

Will my son b able to sign on from any computer? I'm asking because he's not really to computer banking savvy and I want to be able to help him set up direct deposit before he starts working and before i come back home.

Cast Members will get their HUB IDs during training. Once they have that ID, they can log into the Hub from any computer (on and off property).

With that said, I believe that Direct Deposit can only be set up at work. You have to go through our internal employee record system (linked from the HUB) to set up Direct Deposit, and I cannot access that system from home (maybe it's because I have a Mac?).

It may be your computer... I set up Direct Deposit from my own computer last Spring. It's possible too, that they've changed something since then.

Once my daughter had HUB access, she was able to set up the direct deposit while she was at her apartment. This was just this past September. It might have been due to the MAC.

I am intending on utilizing direct deposit to my home bank while on my program. However, if I set up the direct deposit as soon as I am able to, will my first paycheck go direct deposit or what? I'm just worried about what I would do if it doesn't. MY home bank has no locations whatsoever near Florida. I was intending on using my Visa debit card and "cash back" for the duration of my program..

Do you remember how long after check in day it was before your daughter had hub access? I'm wondering because me and DH will be staying nearby til Friday. My son checks in Monday. So I'm hoping to be around to make sure he sets it up correctly. As I stated earlier, he's not a computer banking type of guy, so this is very new to him. Thanks!

I want to say that it was after her traditions training that she had HUB access but I can't remember exactly. Don't worry too much about it, they go through HUB training with them and there are also Tech people to help with things like setting up direct deposit. If he has never done it before, this is a great time for him to learn these things on his own so he will know how to do it for himself in the future.

Not positive... but you have to have it set up by noon on Sunday for the paycheck that comes out that Thursday. So if you happen to go through Traditions on Wednesday, Hub Access on Friday, then you should make the deadline.

But if you have Traditions on Friday and Hub Access on Sunday, you'll be too late and get a paper check for your first week.

HUB access varies based on Line of Business. Entertainment, you get it during Day One Orientation (Welcome to Entertainment). Typically that class is the day after Traditions, but it could be up to three days after wards. In Entertainment we point out where to find directions on how to set up Direct Deposit, but the CM has to do it on their own time.

When I was a trainer in Merchandise, I took a moment to have new CMs set up Direct Deposit with me there so I could help.

Sorry, those are the only two Lines of Businesses I know.

I set mine up ASAP (I was a Wednesday arrival) and my first check went onto the debit card provided at check-in (there are not paper checks for CPs)

My second check was deposite into my wachovia account that I've had for years
