Baltimore BOT-Fest

Sara~ Still thinking about you and a quick recovery!:hug::hug::hug:

I made it to the gym again tonight. I lifted some weights, covered 3.1 miles on the elliptical and biked 4.0 miles in 16:01. I really exerted some effort on the bike tonight. It was a different "course" than the others and very hilly. I finished over 7 minutes ahead of the pacer.

Going to turn in now. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Hot mess checking in:banana:

I haven't read the thread and promise to catch up in the next day or so but I wanted to post quickly and account for my whereabouts:rolleyes1. What was supposed to be a simple one night hospital stay turned out to be a week long stay that has me the proud owner of a trach for the next month. Admittedly, it was a bit tense during the second surgery when they couldn't get my blood pressure above 50/30 and were shooting me full of adrenaline due to my pulse being 32:sad2: After 7 hours in recovery to stabilize me, I spent the next 5 nights in ICU and they finally discharged me despite my calcium levels still being unacceptably low.

On a good note, I'm hoping the humidified air I'm forced to have blown in my face 24/7 for the next month will make my complexion look 5 years younger:thumbsup2 and I'm bound to have earned a bunch of street cred with the 6 inch "J" shaped scar on my neck that will only be enhanced once they stitch up my trach incision:laughing: Also, Mike's bound to be impressed with the number of pharmaceuticals they're presently pouring into me to get me remotely healthypopcorn::. It is what it is and I just want to thank everyone SO VERY MUCH for all of the love, prayers and positive thoughts that have helped more than you know:love::grouphug:

Thanks for checking in Sara. Wow, sounds like a very scary time and surgery. I wish you all the best. I'm glad you are home, and hope your recovery continues to be on the ubswing.

Sara: So glad to see you here. I'm glad you are home and recovering from what sounds like a pretty intense hospital stay. Continued prayers for your recovery.

Howard: Nice job on the gym.

Lou: Hope you've recovered from the dentist.

I did my 3 mile tempo run on the TM yesterday. My legs were still feeling tight after all the hills on Monday, but I got it done anyway.

Good visit with the GI yesteday. She's sending me for an endoscopy, but it will be 3 weeks before I can get in. Until then she's changed my medicine up a bit and suggested I avoid certain foods which might aggrevate my stomach. Hopefully that will help a bit.

Have a great day everyone.

Sara - :woohoo:SO glad you're out of that dang hospital! So much for my "in & out-no-biggie" bullsh**, eh? For cryin' out loud!! I am SO sorry you had to go through all of this :sad1:. WISH we all lived closer together :grouphug: so i could come see your cool "street cred" scar so I could stop by to keep you company & stuff popcorn:::rolleyes1.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you !

Sara - So thrilled that you are home!!!! Ugh, what a horrible ordeal. I do hope the time with the trach goes quickly and you are 100% healed! So gla dyou at least have a cool battle scar to show for all this. ;) EVen better than a medal, you never have to take it off! ;) :goodvibes

Sara, I'm so glad you're home safely. Just the brief description you gave about your surgery scared me! But you, you're a real trooper, bragging about your street-cred scar.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I always find scars a bit mysterious and sexy. Of course, you've always been that way! :cool2:

Anyways, it's great to see you back, and know I'll go back to lurking on the BOT thread...

Sara - So glad to hear you are out and home now. I hope this was the worst part and things are easier from here on out.

Sara - :grouphug: Glad you're home. Hope the recovery goes well from here on. You've had a tough enough time already!

Jackie

Sara - I'm sorry you had such a tough time and am soo glad you are home. The hospital is no place to get well! Take care and keep in touch.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I always find scars a bit mysterious and sexy.
Hey Debra - Ever notice the nice zipper I've got on my left cheek (facial;))? You can believe it's from something mysterious and sexy if you like... But it was really from a Hide and Seek accident when I was 9.

CindyLou - Hope the tummy's going to cooperate better from here on out.

Hey to everyone else!

[Ever notice the nice zipper I've got on my left cheek (facial;))?

Glad you clarified that.

No work for me today or yesterday, DS12 is home sick with a bad virus. He had a negative strep and mono test, so I hope this kid kicks this virus sometime soon.

Sara
So glad to see you back on the boards! Here's hoping that being home will speed your recovery.

Sara:  So glad you are home. Thanks for taking the time to post and update us. Sorry to hear about your harrowing ordeal-- we knew you were one tough chick, you didn't have to be so dramatic about proving it. Feel better soon.

Mike: there you go ruining the mystery and sexiness of a scar...

Cindy: I hope your stomach improves.

Colleen: I feel your pain with the sick kid. DD is seriously sniffly right now with a lovely sounding cough.

Not much to report here. Planning on trying to get my LR in tonight and brace for the major snow heading our way. The cat and dog seem to be finding their peace and getting along better everyday. It is amazing that in only one week the new little furball has us totally wrapped around her little paw-- she is super cute!

Sara - So glad to see you are back! You are one tough person. Sounds like an intense experience. Please keep us updated on your progress.

After reading what Sara went through I won't complain about the dentist. I have stitches inside my mouth but Motrin and beer took care of that. I would have had the muffaletta at the Terminal today if it wasn't for the darn dentist.

5 miles in 41:28 on the TM tonight. Pending blizzard looks like it will make for a tough running weekend.

Lou

Hey Jodi~ Snowed in is a good way to put it. The US Postal Service cancelled all mail delivery throughout the region, there is a State of Emergency declared by the Governor of Delaware and Maryland too. Any non-essential vehicles on the roads (major and secondary) are subject to ticketing.

I posted a couple of photos on FB of my driveway. It looks to be over 2 feet in some areas with the drifts. My front porch and front and back yard are covered to the road, I can't even tell there are a couple of steps to my front porch.

We are hunkered down. Cam and Andrew are watching a "Glee" Marathon on DVD. I am, of course, not in the room. :thumbsup2

When all of the snow has stopped, we'll venture outside and start to dig out our driveway to the roadway which has been plowed, but it's barely noticable.

To all of you in non-snow areas, enjoy your relative freedom. I had hoped to get to the gym today or tomorrow. I am sure it'll be closed both days.

Looking forward to the Superbowl tomorrow and the pretty white stuff melting before the Caesar Rodney Half rolls around.

Sara~ I hope you are getting better sweetie! :grouphug::grouphug:

Lou, Cindy, and Matt~ I'm almost expecting you to post a snowshoe run of 10 miles or something similar.

:grouphug:
