I was just looking at the Dollar General ad from Sunday. It has:

2 for $1:
Bic Cristal Pens 8pk
3M Post-It notes 200ct
DG office Index cards 100ct
DG office yellow #2 pencils 10ct

3 for $1 Two pocket portfolio or two pocket with prong.

$5 Hanes 6pk boys briefs or girls bikinis

There were other things, but those were the only ones I thought were worth mentioning compared to other stores.

I'm going to be picking up the post-it notes, they were on my 4th grader's list. Then all I have left to buy are my middle/high schooler binders and hand sanitizer for all 5 kids I think.

I'm looking for a good price on the Pink Pearl erasers. Has anyone seen any? We need about 200 of them.

For those in IL-the state's 5% off of the current sales tax starts August 6 on most school supplies and runs through August 15. There is a qualifying list of clothes/shoes/school supplies that you can find on the state's website. I know this will help out a lot of low income families in our area that are buying for more than one child as well as teachers who have to purchase supplies out of their own pocket.

That makes them .15 cents each. That would be $30 for 200 They are "Penway" brand and there's no mention of limits in the ad. Of course you probably won't find 200 (100 packs) in one store.

I think Walgreens had pink erasers on sale this week for 29 cents for a 2 pk.

In Florida, there's a tax free weekend ....August 13-15. Also, Target online is having a Black Friday in July. It's only online though!

Children's Place has $10 jeans and $5 graphic tees right now.

You can search and usually find a code for at least 15% off, which would make the jeans $8.50. They've got some decent clearance stuff too. I ordered 5 pairs of jeans and 5 shirts for $68 shipped...not too bad, I think.

Cool! I have 2 Walgreens real close so I will go look.
Our PTA makes school supply packs and these are an item needed. I need 200 for about 80 packs. I'm the President this year, and the supply pack chairperson.

I looked at Walgreens, but they don't say Pink Pearl. I can find Black Pearl and White Pearl at Office max, but not Pink Pearl...does it really matter if it says pink pearl?? What do those of you who are teachers think? If you specify, then should we try to find the correct one, or is a pink eraser OK? Thanks!

Just subscribing. I just picked up 20 of the .15 spirals from Wal-Mart. I like to buy extra for my students while they are so cheap. Spirals and gluesticks...a teacher can never have too many! The only bad thing about this thread is that it reminds me of how soon summer will end.

If anyone is still on the hunt for backpacks, we got the basic style of Jansport bags at the VF outlet for $8.45! They were on sale for around $10 and I printed a coupon for 20%. You cannot beat the quality of a Jansport bag!
