Hi all!
I am now an official WL Vet! We just returned last night. So weird to have breakfast at Whispering Canyon at 8:30am and be home in my own bed in Missouri at 10pm.
It was beautiful and wonderful and everything we had hoped.
Got bunk beds, got to be a flag family, just thoroughly enjoyed this lovely lodge.
Any questions? We were in room 6148 and overlooked the Villa pool. It had a dormer balcony which didn't bother us at all. It was a hike to the Roaring Forks but bearable.
Transportation was really fine but got REAL TIRED of the nonsense of the droppingoff/loading bus area at Fort Wilderness. We are convinced that you maked 10 concentric circles before reaching the bus area. Two bus drivers did take the shortcut through the trees between the Lodge and the campground. I have no idea why they don't use this all the time. It literally cuts 7-10 minutes off the time it takes to get from the campground to WL. They must have their reasons.
Despite tipping everyday and leaving candy, only got one angel out of Mousekeeping. In fact, one was pretty snippy that we forgot to take off the Privacy sign from our door..but oh well! Nothing mattered because we were at the Wilderness Lodge!
It is absolutely, bar none, one od the most beautiful and inspiring places I have ever stayed!
