Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

great update and pics.

i have yet to eat at Flame Tree but will on my next trip.

I love your pictures of Animal Kingdom because I just love Animal kingdom!!
I love the theming of this park, and I'm so glad I can take the this trip to visit more than once! And we'll even be there at night this time, maybe I can catch that darn parade!

Love the pics and update. I've never eaten at Flame Tree. My hubby did last time we were there but the girls and I weren't hungry. I think this time, I may have to try it. Looks pretty good! Thanks for sharing.

Loved the pictures with the water and Brooklynn. I look forward to the pictures of you riding on the new Toy Story Ride at DHS.:surfweb:

Looking forward to your review of TSM and love FT BBQ- pulled pork sandwhiches mmmmm gooood.

Hi BrooklynnsMommy and MeMom,

I have been a "lurker" (as you can probably tell by my post count!) on the Disboards for a while and discovered your trip report via the Pop Century picture thread. I have loved following the report and share your love for Pop-my family and I stayed there in 2005 and again this past April and honestly can't see staying at a moderate anymore, since we all love Pop so much.

I can't wait to read more, and to start reading about your upcoming trip!

How honored we are that you chose us for your FIRST post!!! We've never had that happen before, so I hope we do right by you and your interest.

Pop has a special place in our hearts because it was our first on-site stay. We'd been to Disney World before, and we'd loved Disney World before, but there was something about that Pop stay in 2005 - just the four of us together after some pretty stressful years - that just started a huge explosion of Disney craziness in us!

Trip related:
Jill and I were in panic mode this morning, but it turned out to be for no reason. She called and was discussing flights for the November trip, and as I was writing things down, I somehow came up with the idea that we were only booked from Wed. to Sun. after I had changed it from Sat. to Sun, originally. Trent had said he and Kristi wouldn't be able to go for the whole week, and I knew Jill and John couldn't, and I thought we had decided no one was going until Wed.

Soooo, being of feeble mind, when she said she was looking at flights for Tuesday, since she was getting off a half day early, I began to panic.

Well, heck, we don't have a place to stay for Tuesday!!!

I hung up with Jill and punched the number for Disney, already conveniently programmed into the phone, ;) and told the nice lady I'd love to add another day on to the beginning of our trip. She did, and I confirmed it was the 24th, but she never said the day. She just said the date. I still didn't realize what I had done until panic mode started releasing, and then I discovered, being the brilliant (read crazy :crazy2:) mom that I am, that I had already covered Tuesday in the first change!

Now, if you're totally lost, what that means is that I now have a place booked for Monday, a night we will probably not even be there!

That is, of course, unless John and Jill can get off even earlier in the week. Then we can go ahead and go sooner.
I mean, after all, there is an empty room, and a day in Disney is better than a day at work, right???

We'll see what happens. I'm holding on to the room for now. I don't want to call back today and tell them how stupid I was.

But for now, all stupidity aside, our ticker is saying

11 days, 21 hours, and some minutes!!! :dance3:

For those of you who have not had breakfast this morning, go over on Nicole's trip report. She's got some good stuff going on over there. Don't forget to take your fork! :)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You crack me up....I would so do this and have in fact done stuff like this....I think you should go early but that's just me....you know...have a day to set up the room and wonder the World yourself...and its much better than summer school. :thumbsup2

I would have totallty done something like that Memom! I get so obsessed in details that I forget when I already have things covered.

I can't believe how close your next trip is!! Looking forward to hearing more about the spring break fling and about your summer adventures!

This is for the November trip, so we'll be back in real school by then. We got off a week last year and will get off a week this year, but they've already told us we're back to just three days again for 2009, so that's why I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity.

I guess John will determine what we'll do after he sees the flight schedules and prices. If they can get off another day, I'm all for going on Monday, but that might not work, since they're also taking off a week for their October trip. If they can, heaven knows I'll have my bag packed and ready!

Did you guys have a good Father's Day? Did the girls have special dresses for the occasion?

moparop - I know! We're trying to wrap up the March trip so we can move on with the new thread for the summer trip. I take too many pictures, though, so it takes us forever to get through a report.

micandminforever - Repeat that to Jill and John...several times.::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Lovemy3babes - Repeat that to Jill and John...several more times! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Deep breath MeMom!! It'll be okay!!!! Breathe in, breathe out!!! I have to laugh at this one too. I tend to plan and over plan. Fortunately, I have a Disney travel agent who handles things for me. I wonder what she thinks everytime I e-mail her with yet another question.

I love your comment ... "a day in Disney is better than a day at work, right???" To which I say ...

Amen!! Absolutely!! Well, of course!! Like Duh!!!!

I ADORE all the pics and how long it takes you to get through a trip report. Your thread is the highlight of daily login to the Dis! It has great photos, wonderful people, and a beautiful child. What more could you ask for??

Before we move on, I went back and got some more pictures off of Jill's camera that I wanted to share.

A few more of Brooklynn watching the parade.
Yes, that is food on her face. Anybody got a baby wipe?

Clapping.

Totally taken in by the magic of Disney.

Also, I had to share Jill's very scared face from Dinosaur.

I think the people in front are kind of funny, too.

Now back to wandering through Animal Kingdom.

We had planned to catch the safari one last time. Jill had gone ahead to see what the wait was and how much time was left before they closed down for the night. Kay, Brooklynn, and I just sauntered that way. As we approached, we saw Jill frantically waving us down, telling us to hurry. The nice CM was holding the rope open for just a couple more minutes waiting for us. Apparently our phones were off or too low or something, as Jill had tried to call us with that information. Luckily, we did make it, and the CM did let us in as the last ones of the day.

It was very well worth it! The animals were very active. We got to see the safari in a different light, as far as actual sunlight, because we're used to going early in the day. (Since these are a mix of my pictures and Jill's, they are not necessarily in order. Sorry.)

We also saw some animals moving to places we've never seen.

Where are these elephants going?

Over the bridge and in for the night.

How cool is that?!?!? We've never see them do that!

Next up, we see the lion awake and moving.

More lion pictures coming.

We had never seen Sir Lion so active. He was up and pacing. Quickly pacing, as if he were impatiently waiting for us, the last jeep of the day, to hurry up and get out of Africa so he could get off stage and go on with his evening plans.

We were very excited to have had such a great safari. It was a great ending to our time at Animal Kingdom, and we definitely plan to catch a late safari again on this trip.

LOVE the lion pics. i have yet to see one doing anything but sleeping in the sun!

Great Safari pics MeMom! Were you stopped to get that many pictures?

Those pictures are amazing! What a cool experience to see the last safari of the night!
