Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Question for you or anyone: Since we haven't been to WDW since the fastpasses were instituted, I am curious about something. You indicate that if you go in the fastpass line, you may not get the "full" experience of the whole atmosphere. Is this true?

it's true because the fastpass lines usually bypass the regular queue. for example, on EE the line goes in and out of really great stuff to look at - old yeti temples, "damaged" mount everest hiking equipment and scientific artifacts about the yeti. but if you fastpass it, you don't see any of that stuff.....you just go directly to the area where the CM tells you where to load the coaster. it's kind of a bummer not to see all that stuff, but if i had my choice to fastpass something or wait in the line, i'd fastpass it! then there's more time to take in everything else.

I just found your TR the other day and have been trying to get through all of it. I only made it through your trip last summer and I decided I needed to at least say "Hi" and that I love it.

It is so much fun to see the 3 generations together - our last two trips have been with my parents and it is so much fun. I also love the pics of Brooklynn - she is too cute!

Can't wait to finish reading the thread!

i know some people think it's silly to call others during rides or concerts to let them hear everything, but it really is cool to be on the other end of the phone! once my sister called me during my favorite song at a killers concert and i was dancing around the kitchen and singing! :rotfl: and then last year she called me when she and her boyfriend were on ToT and i put it on speaker so ray could listen too - it was hilarious to hear all those people screaming!

Oh my gosh!! Me and my sister do the same thing. Just last week at the Buffett concert, I had to call her while he sang Come Monday and then a Pirate Looks at Forty! Then when she saw Kenny Chesney last year, she called me while he sang Anything but Mine!! We are weirdos but we like it!!! :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness, I want to just pinch little Brooklyn's cheeks!!! those pictures of her watching Pocahantas are just too cute!!
Hollie had the cheeks when she was little, and I would just blow raspberries on them and pinch them!!!

Brooklyn is just a little doll!!!

punkin413 - We'll discuss the details eventually. I say we just do them the fair way - in reverse alphabetical order, which means Flights comes before Expedition. That's only logical, don't you think? :rolleyes1

swwake - I see punkin413 answered your question. Thanks, Dawn. We did miss out on all the good photo opportunities at EE. I wonder if people would mind me standing in the regular line with them to take pictures with absolutely no intention of getting on the ride?

moparop - I hope the camera does okay. I'll be sick if it's no good, because the pictures I take this trip have to last me all the way to Thanksgiving. Some people probably would think it is absurd, but I could honestly take a hundred pictures of every different animal. Those tigers are awesome, the great apes are fascinating, the giraffes are so graceful, the lion is so majestic sitting up on his hill...I love to watch all of them. I really enjoy all the pictures people put up over on the AK Pictures thread - especially the ones that have those awesome cameras that get incredible close-ups.

Hey Scott and Nicole! Yes, you need to see this parade! It's one of my favorites, along with Spectro, Stars and Cars (which I shall mourn for a long while), Share a Dream Come True... Need I go on? I love them all! Surprise!

samples78 - It's nice to have you reading along. Sorry it's such a long novel. For the next trip, we'll start a totally new report, since this one is getting unmanageable. I hope you will follow us along on that one, too.

hlrababy - That's what I think all the time when I'm talking to her on the phone. I want to jump through the phone and kiss all over those little cheeks. Her face watching Pocahontas was precious. She was really trying to take it all in, but as you can see, she wasn't quite sure about it all. You've got a little cutie at your house, too!

I've got to have some of those name plates you had in your windows. Who did you contact to do them for you? Did you pay them? How long did it take you to get them? We may not be able to get them for this trip, but we could get them for upcoming ones.

snowbell - Tell us about what all you did when you met up with Glenda. I talked to her Tuesday night, and she said it was so fun.

Oh my gosh! I just happened on your Pre-trippie and I LOVE it (although I haven't gotten very far but I am definatly coming back for more!!
BTW can you adopt me into your family??? You seem to be such a great loving and fun family!! I'll be back to read more.

I stumbled upon your TR from the Pop pictures thread. It took me about a week to get though it, but I really enjoyed reading about your trips! I look forward to reading more! :)

um.......sure. whatever you say. ::yes::

(i think the excitement over their upcoming disney trip has made her go slightly looney! :ssst: )

Welcome to our trip report, LeonsMom and Happy Elf. We are glad to have you along.

We will be starting our new report very shortly so everyone watch for our new link in our signature!

Memom, Brooklynn and I are off to the Disney Store!

There's always room for one more around here. You just have to be able to fight your way to the food trough and beat Trent or there will be nothing left!

I hope you will enjoy the reading, but even moreso the pictures. We're headed out again in two weeks, so get all caught up before we take off again!

Happy Elf - Glad you came over from the Pop Century thread. I hope to have many pictures to share over there when we get back. I'll have to get creative, since I've already taken so many from there. One of the unbeatable Pop pictures for any of us who go there, though, is any one taken upon arrival out by the hippy dippy pool. That area is just so vibrant and full of life, and it welcomes us with open arms.

punkin - You didn't think that was fair? Yeah, we are probably a little on the delirious side right now, to be honest. Jill and Brooklynn just left a few minutes ago, and we hugged and kissed and acknowledged that the next time we see each other it will be the night before we leave. She kept saying things like:
"Two weeks from right now, we'll be on the plane."
"Two weeks from right now we'll be checking in."
"Two weeks from right now, we'll be at Crystal Palace."

micandminforever - Surprisingly, we spent nothing. Didn't buy one thing. When you're in between trips, it's easy to get a Disney fix buy something at the Disney Store. When you're about to go to the real thing, though, it's not nearly as tempting. We'd rather spend our Disney dollars on the real stuff in the real place!

:rotfl: sounds like me!!! 2 months and 3 weeks from this very minute erica and i will be at MK waiting for spectromagic to start! :cloud9:

i'm supposed to be proofreading some work right now but i'm on disneyshopping.com checking out all the t-shirts for $4.99! :surfweb: :rolleyes1

Has Brooklynn had pictures taken at the little playground they have at Pop Century and around the area were the water shoots up?

Goofy water jets - yes.

Playground - no. We'll take care of that this time. We got picture of her at the ASMovies playground on the December trip. Thanks for the suggestion! We will leave no part of Pop unphotographed! :)

Two weeks from today, we should be riding this, if all goes as planned.

P1130861.jpg

The plan is for Jill to do the Soarin' trot, only now it'll be the TSM trot, back to grab fastpasses, while John, Brooklynn, and I walk semi-normally yet quickly to TSM. By the time we catch up, she should have fastpasses in hand. We'll get in line to ride, and come back later and do it again. Jill loves Buzz Lightyear, so she's going to love trying to get points on this one, and she and John will have a fierce competition going. My points will still say 00000 at the end of the ride. I will have a dozen blurry pictures and hopefully two or three good ones.

punkin- Good choices on the shirts you bought, as I told you over on your TR. I had never seen the tank top before, but it is very cute.

Lovemy3babes
- Two weeks is not bad at all, especially since this is crunch time, and we'll have so much to keep us busy. Along with summer school, I've got to get my grad course wrapped up and sent off, we've started working on church camp stuff, since I'll be gone the two Sundays just before camp, I have to get the house in order, and I have to get packed. I think that's enough to make the next two weeks go by pretty quickly.

I am not going to go to the grocery store for food to stock the refrigerator for the boys until the day before I leave. If I go any earlier, they will have it all eaten before I even leave!

Good morning Memom and Brooklynnsmommy.

My friend just got back from WDW and said they went to DHS on Thursday and Saturday and by 10:00am Fastpasses were gone to Toy Story Mania. Just wanted you to know you'll need to get there early to get them. He said they never did get to ride it. I absolutely can't wait for you guys to ride it. I want to hear all about it. I am so looking forward to this new ride! :hyper:

Be assured we will be at Hollywood Studios first thing in the morning. We are rope drop kind of people! I'm sorry they didn't get to ride it.

Sorry I didn't say this earlier, but to all you good Disney dads reading along and to good dads who belong to all of you...

Happy Father's Day!!!

After the parade, we did a little more shopping.

Then we headed to the land of creatures past.

This guy doesn't look too menacing from this angle. He's just a skinny toothpickasaurus.

We got a babyswap pass, and Kay and I went on it first. We enjoyed all of it except the part where it stopped for several minutes. It stopped as far as moving forward, that is. It did not stop in the shaking up and down part. We shook up and down like a bucking bronco ride for long enough that it was getting a bit nauseating. We did live to tell about it, though, and Kay even liked it enough to go back through with Jill.

Here's the picture Jill took of Kay and me. We're the two old ladies in the back.

While Jill and Kay traveled back in time, Brooklynn and I took pictures.

Well, you didn't think they were going to be normal pictures, did you? You should know better by now!

It was time for more food, and we love the food they have here.

Sorry, Dawn.

did you happen to notice the prices on these things? ray was gonna buy one for his nephew but they were WAY overpriced. i don't remember how much....just that ray and i were shocked. we expect everything at disney world to be a little overpriced, but these were ridiculous!

458.jpg

Sorry, Dawn.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

when tara, erin and i ate at flame tree in september, the ducks of course were driving me nuts. erin actually started feeding one of them and we got in a fight about how you're not supposed to feed the birds at disney world. i love the food at flame tree but i could do without the company, for sure.
