Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

I know I haven't been posting for a while, but I have been reading along! Did I miss the big camera decision? Any pics from the new equipment?

Pochahontas looks like another fun show. We thought about going, but we were all pretty sick on our Ammel Cammo morning. Unfortunately, we had to shorten our list doen to the very basics of the park. I'll have to look at adding that into our schedule for the summer. Looking forward to the parade. I'll be chacking back before bedtime. I hope the BBQ chicken was good!

MeMom, I love the Pocahontas pictures! My children are part Native American and my daughter Morghan has a special bond with Pocahontas because of this she says. ;) So, we really need to see this show next time! Does she do autographs here as well?

ph you definitely have to start collecting the mr potato head parts for brooklyn. I had found out about them before our trip last sept. I knew I wanted to get the boy parts for my young newphew and girl parts for my young niece (the older kids got older disney items). We started packing them up in the box and the sales lady conned us into the big container for each...because really it was like getting one box free for each container and we bought two...so techically we got two boxes free. at least that is what I tell myself. I was just going to buy a seperate mr potato head at wal-mart later for them but they showed us in the big containters how to fit mr potato head in without wasting anyspace (also put small pieces inside mr potato head). But DH and I had soo much fun trying to fit everything in. And my newphew too put the wrong parts in the wrong holes but he didn't care...he loved it. Actually I think my Brother (who is 24) liked playing with it just as much as my newphew. Niece was sick (they were given as xmas presents) on xmas day so she wasn't too much into hers, but my SIL has said that she likes playing with it.

Is anyone still awaiting a parade?

Well, get up. I thought it was time, but not quite. My notes don't always match my pictures, but we've got a little more walking to do before the parade.

We walked around Dinoland a little.

See? It even says DINO, just in case you couldn't tell by the three hundred foot high dinosaur walking down the street.

363.jpg

We didn't go on Everest. Jill and I have done it once, so we're good for another fifty years, and Kay wasn't thrilled about going after our description of it.

366.jpg

I still want to walk through for pictures sometime. The one time I rode it was through the Fastpass line, and Trent and I just charged in without looking around, since others were waiting on us.

Random pictures, as you've become accustomed to.

I love the tigers. They are beautiful creatures.

Oh, but first, a bat.

Now the tigers.

He was tired of us looking at him.

I would love to just go in there and pet one of those guys. I watched the Animal Planet show where they raised the four baby cubs at some zoo, and it was so neat to see how loving they were, at least in that setting. They loved being stroked and paid attention to. If you get a chance to watch it, you should. I think it was called The Awesome Pawsome, or something like that.

Walking around pictures.

So we left here

I promise, there will be a parade next!

Okay, NOW it is time for a parade.
What are you doing walking around???
Get a seat!

remind me again - did you not like everest? if so, why not? i just love that ride and i can't imagine why someone that likes ToT wouldn't like it, especially a disney nut like you! ;) please fill me in!

i love that king louie has a banana on his hat.

and i've never noticed the leaky hole in the boat before.....i'll have to watch for that next time!

I love those tigers! They look so darn cuddly. I'd love to curl up with one in the sun and take a snooze. :) (as they are wanting to rip my face off or whatever I am sure...)

I just wanted to come out of lurking and say that I enjoy reading your trip report. I especially love all of the photos of Brooklyn. She is so adoreable. I can't wait to read some more.

Thank goodness for parade pics. I was out of snacks and thought I might have to start gnawing on my arm:rotfl2: Not to mention the potato jokes I had running through my head (Why didn't the mother potato want her daughter to marry the famous newscaster?
Because he was a commontater.

Once again great shots. Can't wait to see what the new camera will bring!

Yes!! Thank you Pooksma!! :rotfl2:

I'm loving the parade pictures too and the pictures of Brooklyn are so cute. I said earlier that she reminds me of my daugther when she was that age (now she's almost 16 ).

I do have to apologize to MeMom. It seems I've gotten something started with the potato jokes. I didn't mean to stir things up like this. I guess I'm just an agi...tator!! :lmao:

The tiger pictures just prove it does not matter the size of the cat they love to nap in the shade.

Loved the parade.popcorn::

Memom, loved the parade pics cause after all I'm a spec-tater! :rotfl2: I'm sorry, it's GorshGoofy's fault!! ::yes::

Really the parade looks so cool. I've never seen that one. May have to check it out this August. Thanks again for sharing.

SnoopyDancer - Jill called me on her way to church tonight and said she had just picked up glow sticks at Target! Brooklynn is all set for Spectro and Fantasmic now.

TCKK - She gets in the car now and says, "Listen Simba." That's Jill's cue to put in the CD of Festival of the Lion King. She's going to be Disney rotten!

The Jammin' Jungle parade is a must see!

Nicole - Neither are headliners, but both are good. Put them on your list of things to get around to so you can be a real Diser.

GorshGoofy - I'm sensing a future meet for you and declansdad. I think you two (rascals) would get along very well!

I'll share one last potato joke.

Three women went to a farm to steal chickens, but they heard the farmer coming. They dove into empty potato sacks to hide. The farmer came along and kicked the sacks as he hunted for the thieves. He kicked the sack of the red-head, and she said 'meow', so he went on. He kicked the sack of the brunette, and she said 'ruff', so he moved on again. He got to the third sack, in which the blonde was hiding. He gave it a swift kick, and she called out 'potatoes'! :sad2: :rotfl:

moparop - A Canon S5IS. We'll see what happens. I'm sorry you were sick at Disney World. That's no good! The chicken was good, as were the broccoli and the...... (shhh!) potatoes!

Lovemy3babes - That's very cute what your daughter said. I love listening to kids. They're so funny and so real with what they think. When we were talking about hippos last week while reading a story, one of my students proceeded to tell an elaborate story about how she jumped off of a rope swing in the river and landed on a hippo. I can assure you that we do not have hippos in our area.

I'm not sure about autographs, because we left right afterward. I think they do bring animals out for a special training type show once a day, so that's something we might check into next time.

k_reile - Since John is an engineer and is well-known for his preciseness, we have full faith in his potato part packing skills. He will pack parts as well as any parts have ever been packed, I can assure you! Records could be set.

punkin413 - It was more intense than I thought it would be - a little rough in parts. I do plan to give it one more try...someday. I'll meet you there someday, and we'll ride together.
Right after we finish watching Flights of Wonder.

caralyn817 - Welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the trip. Stay packed, because we're going on another one very soon!

pooksma - Your hanging around dad for 15 years is showing in the humor department.

I hope your arm is safely intact, and I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. I love that parade!

micandminforever - Yep. My cat naps and naps and naps. Occasionally he rouses to get a drink or a bite to eat, but mostly he naps. The body language of the little cats and the big cats are so much the same, the way they carry themselves, and the way they sprawl out.

:rotfl2: so i guess you're not gonna be riding EE any time soon, then? :rolleyes1

Memom - great update! I loved the pics. I hope we get to see that parade. I love how close Brooklyn was to everything!

Question for you or anyone: Since we haven't been to WDW since the fastpasses were instituted, I am curious about something. You indicate that if you go in the fastpass line, you may not get the "full" experience of the whole atmosphere. Is this true?

I am loving your parade shots. You got great photos of their interaction with Brooklynn. Too cute! It was fun looking at your photos through the Jungle Trek. I got many of the same shots. I hope you like the new camera!!! Can't wait to see the pictures from your new trip with it!

great update and pics.

I would love to see the parade this trip coming up. hopefully.

I love this chapter, those pics of brooklynn are too cute!! Now theres a parade i just haven't seen yet!! im trying again this trip, we'll see how it goes!
