declansdad, punkin413, VandyFan10, KimAshton, snowbell, and scottny - It's good to hear from everyone. (
kaysmommie, I will PM you and we will arrange to meet. We'll be in MK the same day.) I hope you have a fun weekend planned for today and tomorrow. I'm going to run out and get milk and bread and a few odds and ends, but other than that, I have to stay away from any kind of store. I balanced the old checkbook a few days ago, and it is not pretty!
I guess that's what I get for going to Disney World in October AND November AND December! Oh well, I wouldn't trade that time with the kids and the memories we made for anything I could do around here this weekend anyway, so I guess it's all good. I am glad I don't have another trip on the books until March, though, because I don't think I could manage to squeeze one out any sooner.
I have very much enjoyed the annual passes, though, and the discounted rooms does make it easier to enjoy them more often. Like anything, it's a trade off as to what you choose to do with your money, and since I don't spend money on much of anything - smoking, drinking, movies, eating out, clothes, jewelry, etc. - I just set my money aside for Disney. If I ever get tired of going, or if it stops giving me the magical bang for my buck that it does now, then I'll reevaluate, but for now, it's my one "vice", if you will.
So, on with the trip.
After spending some time at Magic Kingdom, we wanted to go to the Grand Floridian to see all of the beautiful decorations. It didn't disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful!
Brooklynn pretending she was a high society guest.
The gingerbread house had a constant line of customers standing at it.
We went to the gift shop and found the t-shirt that says 'Por favor mantangense alejados des puertos' (I hope I got it right, since I don't have the shirt in front of me), so we had to have those!
Then we walked around outside and decided we'd eat there.
After we ate, we went down to the beach to let Brooklynn play in the sand.
These are my new "most favoritest" pictures in the world.
Mommy and Brookie playing in the sand.
Jill has been so much more relaxed and so much more able to enjoy Brooklynn since she's been away from work. She has time now to do the little things, and she's not always stressed out and exhausted. I love seeing them like this.
Is this sweet or what?
Okay, tell me to shut up and quit being the braggy MeMom. I just love that little girl so much!!!
She was not at all sure about walking in this weird stuff.
She was quite funny. She stood up, took a tiny step, and almost fell over. She wasn't sure why the ground below her was squishy.
She finally called for help. "Hep me," she says, (no l) with the accent on 'me'.
It was a pretty day - Christmas time on the beach in Disney World with my girls. Couldn't ask for more.
I took a picture for a lady from somewhere across the ocean. She saw me taking pictures of Jill and Brooklynn, and she asked, with a very thick British accent, if I would take a picture of her with her daughter. I did, of course, and she said, "I can't believe we're in Disney World on the beach on Boxing Day! I have to have a picture to show my friends!" She and her daughter ran around in the sand like little kids!
She was so very excited, and it makes me smile even now to know that she is probably over on the other side of the world somewhere showing off her pictures with pride, as I do mine when I come home. All the teachers at school attack me to see pictures when I get back, and I now have three who have trips on the books!
We took one last walk around the beautiful resort.
Then, it was time to leave the elegance of the GF and head to the roughness of the wild west. We headed toward Fort Wilderness.
