Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

P1130278.jpg

Jill and Brooklynn sat right up on the street at the rope so Brooklynn could see. I staked out a spot up on the rock wall behind them where I could stand up and take pictures without obstructing anyone's view. I think I ended up in the better place, because Jill had turkey leg juice dropped in her hair by a girl who came and stood beside them!

What WONDERFUL pics....thanks for sharing :goodvibes

Turkey juice .....:headache: ICK

Great update and parade pics! We will be in MK on the 15th and we are having dinner at Chef Mickey's. On the 16th our plans are to go to Epcot until around noon and then hop over to HS for the rest of the day. It will be a short trip for us with only 2 park days :sad2: . But DD's Bday is the 15th so we are driving down just for that :) Well take a longer trip in the fall/winter. When it gets closer PM me and we will exchange cell numbers.

MeMom - I don't know where you find these pictures. you are so good at getting such great shots. Why don't you go re-book your trip and come June 6th instead.. :thumbsup2

declansdad, punkin413, VandyFan10, KimAshton, snowbell, and scottny - It's good to hear from everyone. ( kaysmommie, I will PM you and we will arrange to meet. We'll be in MK the same day.) I hope you have a fun weekend planned for today and tomorrow. I'm going to run out and get milk and bread and a few odds and ends, but other than that, I have to stay away from any kind of store. I balanced the old checkbook a few days ago, and it is not pretty!

I guess that's what I get for going to Disney World in October AND November AND December! Oh well, I wouldn't trade that time with the kids and the memories we made for anything I could do around here this weekend anyway, so I guess it's all good. I am glad I don't have another trip on the books until March, though, because I don't think I could manage to squeeze one out any sooner.

I have very much enjoyed the annual passes, though, and the discounted rooms does make it easier to enjoy them more often. Like anything, it's a trade off as to what you choose to do with your money, and since I don't spend money on much of anything - smoking, drinking, movies, eating out, clothes, jewelry, etc. - I just set my money aside for Disney. If I ever get tired of going, or if it stops giving me the magical bang for my buck that it does now, then I'll reevaluate, but for now, it's my one "vice", if you will.

So, on with the trip.

After spending some time at Magic Kingdom, we wanted to go to the Grand Floridian to see all of the beautiful decorations. It didn't disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful!

The gingerbread house had a constant line of customers standing at it.

We went to the gift shop and found the t-shirt that says 'Por favor mantangense alejados des puertos' (I hope I got it right, since I don't have the shirt in front of me), so we had to have those!

Then we walked around outside and decided we'd eat there.

P1130296.jpg

After we ate, we went down to the beach to let Brooklynn play in the sand.

These are my new "most favoritest" pictures in the world.

Jill has been so much more relaxed and so much more able to enjoy Brooklynn since she's been away from work. She has time now to do the little things, and she's not always stressed out and exhausted. I love seeing them like this.

Is this sweet or what?

Okay, tell me to shut up and quit being the braggy MeMom. I just love that little girl so much!!!

She was not at all sure about walking in this weird stuff.

DSC02274.jpg

She was quite funny. She stood up, took a tiny step, and almost fell over. She wasn't sure why the ground below her was squishy.

She finally called for help. "Hep me," she says, (no l) with the accent on 'me'.

It was a pretty day - Christmas time on the beach in Disney World with my girls. Couldn't ask for more.

I took a picture for a lady from somewhere across the ocean. She saw me taking pictures of Jill and Brooklynn, and she asked, with a very thick British accent, if I would take a picture of her with her daughter. I did, of course, and she said, "I can't believe we're in Disney World on the beach on Boxing Day! I have to have a picture to show my friends!" She and her daughter ran around in the sand like little kids!

She was so very excited, and it makes me smile even now to know that she is probably over on the other side of the world somewhere showing off her pictures with pride, as I do mine when I come home. All the teachers at school attack me to see pictures when I get back, and I now have three who have trips on the books!

We took one last walk around the beautiful resort.

Then, it was time to leave the elegance of the GF and head to the roughness of the wild west. We headed toward Fort Wilderness.

GREAT pics....but I especially LOVE these :goodvibes ....and you can BRAG all you want you are her MeMom

I just had to repost these b/c they gave me a good giggle and I think they are just precious!....Thanks for sharing

My boys are @UK today...12:30 on CBS....make sure you cheer for them :happytv: ...you were talking about your 'vice' mine is definitely VU b-ball....and everyone will get to see what a FREAK I am about something else besides Disney over the next 3 months :rotfl:

great update and pics. Funny she did not like walking on the sand. I guess it would be strange.
GF looked gorgeous.

but for now, it's my one "vice", if you will.

i agree. we were at the grocery store last night and i bought a gossip magazine and ray (my DH) looked at me and said, "are you buying that?" (i don't know why he was surprised - i buy them all the time!) and i said yeah and he just rolled his eyes. i said, "look, you have video games and football and i have gossip and disney. it's my thing." he shut up.

We went to the gift shop and found the t-shirt that says 'Por favor mantangense alejados des puertos' (I hope I got it right, since I don't have the shirt in front of me), so we had to have those!

maybe i'm behind, but what does that mean?

SO SWEET!!!!

maybe i'm behind, but what does that mean?

I believe it's the 'Please stand clear of the doors' you hear everytime on the monorail

I want one of those shirts too :lmao:

MeMom you have to post a pic of those!!!!

Dawn....did you just smack yourself b/c you really did know that ;)

Terrific Pictures MeMom! Brooklynn is so cute in the sand!! I`ve never been to the GF (except on the monorail) next time I will be sure to spend some time there! And you can Brag to us all you want! We love it! :goodvibes
I also would love to see a pic of the shirt! I`m sure glad Vandy posted what it meant. because I had no clue!! I think its funny that 3 teachers are now booking trips! :thumbsup2 Carrie

Dawn....did you just smack yourself b/c you really did know that ;)

actually, i didn't know that. i always hear people talking about how they say that on the monorail but i've never paid attention - plus i usually can't hear anything when i'm on there, which is weird to me because i LISTEN for a living! you people must have sonic hearing!

Are you listening right now to see if you can hear VandyFan's screaming? I don't think things are going so great right this minute for the black and gold. I just flipped over to Channel 5 and saw that Kentucky is doing some damage. It's still early in the game, though, so maybe there will be a turn around soon.

By the way, I think it's las or los puertas. I'll have to find the shirt. Kristi would be disappointed in my translation. She's the Spanish speaker in our bunch.

What sweet pics.:cutie:

Despite your previous comment re my new amount of "free time":lmao: , the pic of Jill and Brooklynn on the beach made me think of how much I am enjoying being able to take Declan to and some days from school. Not something we teachers usually get to do. It certainly is a "de-stress" time.

Looking forward to more pics and as much bragging as you feel like doing!

Wow I felt like I was at the parade! My girls watched your pictures with me and we had a blast. What a great angle!
Oh and I started tearing up at the pics of Brookie and Mommie on the GF beach. I think I was trying to imagine my DD9 with her daughter and how I would feel. Anyways...such special moments and you really captured the moment! My DD3, Brooklyn Grace, has to be "reintroduced" to the sand every spring so that's hilarious that your Brooklynn was unsure about the footing as well. :flower3: Love the pictures...keep em coming!!

I was wondering what that meant too... "Please stand clear of the closing doors"..lol
Brooklynn is so precious. I can just imagine her saying hep me. I was born a beach baby... I had problems on the pavement.. :rotfl2:
Again -- I cannot say enough about your pictures. I wish you were in them though.. :)

My Brooklynn is a Brooklynn Grace, too!

Hi MeMom! I just finished your latest update :goodvibes Thank-you for your kind words of wisdom..I almost had tears,,its good to be reminded of these things once in a while.
The weather looked cold and wet on that day? the main street bakery snack looked yummy.. And there is no duck like a Disney Duck! We always take pictures of them because they are "special" :cutie:

Very sorry about the loss of your friend..She sounds like a very special lady..

It wasn't cold and wet that morning it was just 7:15 or 7:30. The sun wasn't quite ready to wake up!

Just wanted to say goodbye. I look forward to seeing more updates when I get home. Hope my pics are 1/2 as good as yours.
Have a great 2 weeks.
:thumbsup2

We hopped in the monorail and headed back to magic Kingdom and then caught the bus over to Fort Wilderness. Brooklynn and I sat on the outside while Mom sat on the inside. There was a chain where they could block the entrance to the outside and Brooklynn loved the sound of it as she banged it several times against the boat.

P1130310-1.jpg

It, however, gave me a headache so I made her stop. We got off the boat and Mom wanted a picture of us in front of the sign. The sign is in the sand and I am pushing a stroller with a gimpy front wheel from its lovely journey on the airplane. You do the math on how fun that was! But we did get the picture.

P1130311.jpg

We stopped at the Trading Post for a snack. (Yes, we did just eat at GF, but as MeMom has pointed out we are grazers. We end up throwing away a lot of food or she puts it in a Ziploc bag to eat later, and she forgets about until the end of the day when she cleans out her bag and there it is all nice and smushy!)

P1130314.jpg

Then we stopped by the Lawnmower Tree where you can't even really see the lawnmower anymore.

P1130315.jpg

P1130316.jpg

There was a bagpiper just walking around playing. Cool at first and then after the first ten minutes annoying. Mom needed to potty since it has become her personal mission to potty at every resort we visited. (See what I have to deal with it!)

We have ADR's to eat here this summer

P1130319.jpg

We headed over to see the horses since Brooklynn is such an animal lover. It was definitely a hit!

P1130320.jpg

P1130321.jpg

P1130323.jpg

Then we went over to the barn where the keep all the big horses. I think if we had let her Brooklynn would have hugged them right around their necks. They are absolutely huge! You just really have to see them up close to realize how big they are. Mom marvelled at how clean the floor was.

P1130330.jpg

P1130332.jpg

Then because we had seen Samantha Brown's new show on the trailers that are decorated we headed that way. They are definitely in the holiday spirit. They do more decorating than most houses I know.
