Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Okay, crisis averted. He found what he was looking for. My heavens, when that boy can't find something, the world must stop rotating until he finds it! And the finding it usually involves me taking care of it myself before he turns the house upside down.:upsidedow

Anyway, Cotta, we'll look forward to hearing all about your trip. 5boyz, I don't suppose you know what it's like to have sons searching the house for something, do you? Mic_n_Min, welcome! We hope you'll stick around our insanity all the way to the end. The more, the merrier! tinkgurl and betsywdw, thanks for being regulars!

Brooklynn had birthday fun with her friends at school today, and we'll be having a family party this weekend, so we'll post pictures of those for you, too. After all the birthday fun has settled down, I'll be ready to put up our evening at Epcot, which was July 26th.

Cherokeemamma - Is your daughter ready for High School Musical 2 and Hanna Montana tomorrow night???:cheer2:

I am new to posting on here but I had to tell you all that I read this from start to finish and it has made me even more excited for our upcoming trip. We will be at ASMU from Sept 12-18. We are also going with quite a crew. Me-DH-DD ( 4 will turn 5 on the 13th while we are there)- MIL- FIL- SIL-BIL-nephew (2 1/2), and my sister. I cant wait!! Thanks for the interesting trip report!! And Brooklynn is adorable by the way  :yay:

Love the Fantasy Land pictures! It must have been so fun to go with a baby/toddler. I bet her expressions/smiles were priceless!

One year ago today, I was headed to the hospital to begin the long day's wait for a sweet little baby's arrival. Her mommy did a great job that day, and presented to our family a most precious baby girl. Brooklynn has brought so much joy to all our lives. She smiles at anything anyone says, and she doesn't know a stranger. She gave this past Disney trip a whole new dimension. Our others were good, but this one was special. Thanks, Jill, for being a great mommy, and thanks, Brooklynn, for bringing so much more love to my life. Happy Birthday to you from MeMom, Uncle Bubby, and Uncle D!

How cute is that.....awwwwwwwww :cutie: Happy Belated BD party: :bday: :jumping1: from a different Brooklyn's mommy! You are such a special little girl and much loved

I'm glad our trip is helping your wait be more exciting. September 12th will be here before you know it! We're staying at ASMu for the first time in December. I'll look forward to hearing what all you have to say about your trip and that resort when you return. Going with the big group was fun. We had an understanding that everyone just got to come and go as they pleased. We didn't try to stick together all the time, or it never would have worked as well. When we were together for meals and rides, it was because we all wanted to be there. Your kids are smaller, though, so you guys will probably do more things together. Thanks for coming along with us on our report!

Most of us spent the evening at Epcot.

Drew and Sam had gone into Orlando again for most of this day. They went to a friend's house...a $1.2 million house, so they were living the good life! Jill, John, Brooklynn, and I went through a little bit of Innoventions, then walked through a few shops having fun.

We ate at the Electric Umbrella. Very good sandwiches.

Trent and Kristi met us there, and we all headed to Mexico.
DSC06551.jpg

Trent and Kristi had met some new friends from Pop on their bus ride over, and we happened to run into them there.

We all went on El Rio de Tiempo, and I thought the cartoon part was cute. I know a lot of people don't like it at all, but I think more people will want to ride it now because the kids might like it better.

After that, we went to check out Norway, and took some of the usual Norway pictures. Maelstrom was closed, unfortunately.

China was next, and there are so many beautiful things to see in the shops. I could spend many hours just browsing in the shops.

Next up was Soarin', which is my very favorite ride in Disney World. Trent had really planned to leave, but we talked him into staying if the wait wasn't terrible, and surprisingly he was very patient for the time we did have to wait. (A bit of background - The first time we had gone to Soarin' back in 2005, Trent was a little less patient. He got tired of waiting and said he'd meet us back at the room, and he jumped over the bannister. He misjudged how far up we really were, and although he did land on his feet, he was surprised to find out that the leap wasn't as small as he had thought, but more like about fifteen feet! He was lucky he didn't break a body part due to his impatience!) We did the baby swap - Trent and Kristi taking Brooklynn to go eat and ride Living with the Land, and then meeting back up with us to swap the baby. The second round, John was going to sit with Brooklynn. This was going to be Kristi's first ride ever on Soarin', so I was excited about riding twice and excited to see how she liked it, too. When we went up with our baby swap pass, a lady came from the side and told us to follow her, because tonight we were VIPs. She took us out a door, then down and around and outside and back inside, finally leading us to the Row 1 line, ready to get straight on the next load. It was neat to see the "secret" ways that we'd never seen before. Once we were on the ride, I had to help an elderly lady two seats to the right of me who was riding with her two grandsons. She couldn't hook her belt, and she was worried that she was going to fall out. It took a minute, but she finally got it clicked and was ready to go. She slipped out of her shoes and put her feet high up in the air. Now that she was convinced she wasn't going to fall out, she was ready to fully enjoy the ride! The ride was awesome, as always, and Kristi thought it was great. It was fun to hear her on one side and the grandma on the other side as they experienced it for the first time. The oohs and aahs of first-timers help make the ride more fun for me, because I well remember how I felt the first time I rode it.

We were going to try to get on Test Track, but the wait was too long, so we did some more shopping and headed back to Pop Century for a night swim. This is my favorite picture of "the ball" that I took this trip.

I just noticed the clothes were different in a couple of those pictures. Obviously some were taken from a different night that we were at Epcot, but we have SOOO many pictures, I was just getting a sampling of what we did that night and didn't notice. We did do Epcot the way it played out in the report, but some of the pictures are from the second night we went through there, I'm noticing. Sorry for the mix up!

Hi MeMom!
I just loved your latest installments! The pictures are great and it looks & sounds like you all have a wonderful time. I must say the pic of Brooklynn wearing the glasses from Philharmagic is just so sweet and cute. :cutie: I really love that one.

What a blessing to get to experience all that with your family. you see, my mom or dad will have no part of WDW. I would just love it if they would go but no, not interested in that at all. My mom went for a day and just hated it...she rode nothing...I do mean nothing. I asked her about IASW and she said, "no I didn't ride that." To make matters worse, I think she wore heels  :confused3 when she went. No wonder she didn't like it.:sad2:

I also love Soarin. I had heard at one time, they were going to change the movie. It was to be of all/some of the countries represented in the WS. I thought that sounded like a wonderful idea. I guess it was just a rumor.

My DD did watch HSMusical2. Alot of the kids in our community had little parties to watch the movie. She did go to a friends and they had a sleep over. the mom said the movie really did not hold their attention like the first. However, when I asked if they liked it they all cheered, "yes"!!! I have not seen it yet but it is only a matter of time.:rotfl: It will be playing often on the Disney Channel.

Last but not least...:bday: :rockband: Happy Birthday to Brooklynn! I know you all have had just a fantastic and fun weekend.

Looking forward to more....
Have a great week.

Great Epcot installment! We didn't make it there until our third day so I won't get to that for a while in our TR. It's my favorite park though. I LOVE World Showcase. It was so hot when we were there we could do all the walking during the day so we hit it during EMH! We did the hat pics, too!
SO how did you like HSM2? I thought this one was a little more campy... but I still enjoyed it. The songs are just so catchy. Have you heard that the third one is going to be in the movie theaters? Can you believe that?

Glad everyone is enjoying our trip so far. I will hopefully post pics from Brooklynn's birthday tomorrow morning.

cherokeemamma - I'll be glad to be your substitute mom whenever you feel like taking me!:) Really, I wish your mom did "get" the magic, because she could be making such great memories with all of you, but I guess we have to understand that everyone has different interests and likes and dislikes, etc. You'd have to pay me to do some other things that other people stand in lines for and pay tons of money for, because I don't get the thrill of their interests, but that's for the best, I guess. If we all loved Disney World as much as I do, the place wouldn't be big enough for all of us!

Cotta - I love World Showcase, too! I just love looking at all the beautiful clothes, jewelry, baskets, purses... just everything from the different countries. HSM2...I watched it off and on, actually. Jill was here and she watched the whole thing, so she'd be a better judge. I was busy getting ready for a birthday party the next day, and I had to make chess squares for a wedding reception, too. I was in and out of the room, but I did like the songs I heard. I know a lot of kids did have HSM2 parties.

Snowbell - Thanks...and as for your ticker, aren't you looking so forward to your holiday trip? I know we are!

tiggerbell - Thanks, also! I liked it, too. I wanted to get at an angle to just get the original with no extras on it. I'd like to be standing in that same place tonight looking up at that. I think we have 125 days left in our wait.

praisehisname - Glad you're enjoying the pictures. I am really enjoying seeing them again and re-living the time we were there. It already seems like too long ago!

tinkgurl - Since you were at Epcot that same night, maybe you were the one making the Test Track line so long!?!?:)

twob4him - Thanks. We had a lot of fun at Chef Mickey's. I would definitely recommend this breakfast. experience for anyone with little kids.

I hope I haven't left anyone out since the last post. If I have, I will reply later. I'm doing this quickly before I start this school day. The kids got out half day yesterday and will today and probably the rest of the week, as well, due to the extreme heat. We have schools having AC problems, and the bus drivers are reporting up to 120 degree temps on buses. Everyone have a good day, and stay cool!

I cannot wait for My holiday trip. what dates are you going? My trip is booked right now from 11/28 - 12/3, but it might have to get changed b/c of work to 11/30 - 12/5 -- I know i know --it is not really during the holiday, but it is the holiday season :cool1: :cool1:
We went for Thanksgiving last year and it was soooo magical. you are going to have such a good time :dance3:

You two are making it hard to wait until next month when my mom and I are taking my youngest dd on her first trip! (We are taking each of the kids when they are 5-6yrs old for their very own special first trip :wizard:)

Love the pictures- such a beautiful family having a wonderful time in the World! :flower3:

Here are a few of Drew's pictures. One from each park and one from Pop.

You can almost feel the water on your feet when you glide over this scene in Soarin'.

Will they or won't they ever be built as suites? For now they look kind of sad.
