Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

My mouth dropped wide open when I saw the food court!!!! OMG!!!! I wish AKL had one like that!!!!!

OMG THe haloween stuff is the cutest!! Brooklynn is so cute as Alice with that wig! :lmao:

Im really digging all that halloween stuff like the balloons and the toontown sign!

When in december will you be at WDW?

We'll be at WDW on Christmas Day, and we'll be leaving on the 30th. I think your trip is earlier than that, isn't it? In the teens?

Glenda - I had one of the best cheeseburgers I've had anywhere on Disney property at that food court in 2006.

carrieannie - Which room was yours?

scottny - I was calm, cool, and collected. Right, Jill? She made fun of me, but I did much better than I could have done under the near death circumstances!:)

Kristina - Glad you're enjoying the trips. I actually have a picture of everything I bought on the trip that I'll show later.

UtahMama - We cracked up at that picture. Yep, her chubby cheeks are quite kissable. By the way, that gazing, entranced Beauty and the Beast face that Norah had in your report - that's just what Brooklynn looks like when she watches that show. She's just mesmerized by the music, costumes, etc.

After we escaped the monorail, we were warmly welcomed by the beautiful Polynesian Resort. I love the atmosphere here - the lush greenery and the sound of the waterfalls. What I have seen of it is very pretty, although I will admit that I have not wandered very far away from the main house and around the pool area.

Stitch considered a little early morning surfing, but on an empty stomach, he thought he might faint and fall off and drown, so he decided to join us for Tonga toast.

Brooklynn saw her friends, the ducks, over at another table, so she invited them over to join us.

P1100539.jpg

Stitch was in shock at the size of the toast.

P1100540.jpg

After a few minutes, the ducks made their way over to share in our morning feast.

P1100541.jpg

I heard the ducks speaking to each other in their native language. The one in the lead told the others, "I see a little person. Little persons always drop things. Let's go hang out under the little person's sitting place." He was right. The little person dropped more than one crumb under her sitting place, and the ducks politely shared what she dropped.

It was a lovely birthday breakfast for Jill in a peaceful, beautiful spot.

Then it was out to wait for the bus to Animal Kingdom. These were taken while waiting. There was quite a crowd there at that time. I busied myself taking pictures. (Surprised?)

ooh that looks good. I am going to O'Hana for dinner but I am excited to see the Poly.
love the pics.

oooh did they have the tonga toast at the food court at the poly?

Yep, but I also wanted macadamia pancakes, and they didn't have those.

Scott, 'Ohana is on our list for next summer. Maybe that, Trail's End, maybe Hollywood and Vine - we've never been to any of those. We try to do different places, both table service and counter service, so that one day we can say we've eaten at them all. Except we'll probably never get to Victoria and Albert's - too high class for a bunch of Tennessee hillbillies.

I don't think Victoria & Alberts is in my future and I am a high class New Yorker. :rotfl2: :lmao: although I do have West Virginia in me so I also got a little hillbilly in me. :)

I am trying basically all new restaurants this time when I go.

So good to hear that they serve Tonga Toast at their food court! Maybe one MK morn, I'll hit their food court on the way!

Sorry I have been such a slacker. We have an impending visit from the corporate office. It is unannounced so we are all walking on eggshells uuntil they get here. Plus all the other regular events costume parades, Halloween parties, and other such things.

The greatest part of the breakfast at the Poly was the automated system they had. You placed your order electronically and then paid and got a buzzer that went off when your food wasa ready. It was nice to place the order and go sit at a table and wait rather than standing in a line to order a line to pick up and a line to pay.

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!

Hey Mom! What is the name of the place at the Poly where you got your breakfast?

Captain Cook's. It was perfect for what we wanted - a quickie breakfast in a pretty place before we headed to the park. Our plan was to get Tonga toast for Jill and macadamia pancakes for me and we'd take a bite of each other's, but they didn't have the pancakes, so we just got the breakfast platter and shared all among us. We had plenty left over. The Tonga toast is gigantic thick. It's just sweet enough and very filling. Maybe you can try it out on your December trip. You're still going, right? And, seeing how tomorrow is November, you are almost at the point of saying, "I'm going to Disney World NEXT MONTH!"...again!

Thanks! And yes I am going in Dec! I hope I get a chance to squeeze this in. If not, I just turn over in my wonderful bed and hit the snooze button! :cloud9:

carrieannie - I saw that it was your daughter's birthday. Happy Birthday to your little one! Hope it was/is day to remember.

Two weeks from tomorrow the boys and I will be on the road to Disney World for a mother & sons trip. Trent wanted to drive straight through and not stop in GA for sleep, but I encouraged him to do otherwise. He finally agreed, so we're going to do like Jill and I did before - stop and get a little sleep, but be back on the road way early to get on to our destination. He doesn't think he'll need it now, but I think he'll appreciate it about ten o'clock that Friday night. We'll still have the whole day at Magic Kingdom, which is what they want to do first.

I got some more pictures downloaded, but I'm still at school right now. I'll get them up tonight or tomorrow night. I promise to have the Halloween/birthday report done by the time we go on the Thanksgiving trip.

Wow! I can't believe you're going again! You are really getting your money's worth out of the AP!

Yes ma'am, I am. I'll probably never have a year like this again, so I am getting what I can out of it

After the Poly breakfast, we headed to Animal Kingdom. A crowd was gathered around some really loud howler monkeys or gibbons or whatever those things are that hoot and holler like mad. They were some kind of loud! I took a picture, but they were so high up that they didn't show up worth showing you.

We decided to go on the Maharajah Trek since we had done Pangani this summer. We were stopped for a moment by a CM. I took this picture while we waited:

P1100564.jpg

After a little bit, we were allowed to move on, where these nice ladies greeted us with Dream Fastpasses.

P1100565.jpg

Jill was very excited, but this guy didn't seem to care one way or another. He had only snoozing on his mind.

P1100566.jpg

Then we walked over toward Everest, but we didn't plan to ride it this time. I did want to get a decent picture, and this one with cars going both up and down satisfied me.

P1100578.jpg

On to the Nemo musical, which we enjoyed.

P1100579.jpg

Then we hitched a ride with Brooklynn over to Dinoland.

P1100581.jpg

P1100585.jpg

I'm thinking I might ride this with the boys this next trip.

P1100586.jpg

We only walked around for a few minutes, and then we headed on out.

P1100589.jpg

P1100592.jpg

I liked this angle of the dinosaur. It looks like he's just taking a stroll down the street.

P1100594.jpg

Pizzafari was our lunch destination.

P1100596.jpg

Here's what we ate.

P1100604.jpg

Here's what we sat in while we ate.

P1100605.jpg

A little more of the theming.

P1100607.jpg

P1100609.jpg

Of course, there was some shopping.

P1100611.jpg

We then got rained out, because it rained really, really hard and didn't look like it was going to stop. We went over to Animal Kingdom Lodge just to spend a little time in the lobby and gift shop until we determined what the weather was going to do.

P1100616.jpg

P1100621.jpg

Before the trip was over, we ended up with all of these. I got a set of lights, Jill bought me the globe thing, and I bought each of us a Mickey pumpkin bucket.

P1100622.jpg

More of the extras.

P1100623.jpg

We decided to hit DTD, and at the bus stop we had to snap this one for Gmax.

MeMom....I am VERY jealous..:snooty: ..how is it that a TN girl can get so lucky :goodvibes to go to WDW 2 MONTHS IN A ROW!!!!!

You guys have some great pics on here and I'm enjoying the TR....haven't read all of it and honestly am skipping around since I've come here late

We are about 15mins outside Nashvegas :upsidedow ....and I have 35 more days until our trip to WDW!!!! When are you guys going in Dec???

Also, BrooklynnsMommy, your little girl is precious....MeMom all your kiddos are very cute :)

Swans - I'm glad you got back safely. I'll be reading your report. I'm glad you had a great time.

VandyFan10 - We're just outside of Nashville, also. Are you north or south? (I guess you could be east or west, but most people are either north or south of here.) Trent went to Vandy basketball camps, and our friends Drew Maddux and Sam Howard went there, if you're into basketball. Don't know if you're an overall fan or just of certain Vandy sports.

As for pulling off going so much, this is just a dream year. I'll never get to do this again.

Now, back to the rainy day at Disney. We went to Downtown Disney to...shop!

P1100630.jpg

We do a lot of window shopping, guys. We sure don't buy near as much as you might think for as much shopping as we do. We just like to look.

P1100632.jpg

P1100633.jpg

P1100635.jpg

P1100636.jpg

It started raining hard again, so we, along with about a hundred other dripping wet tourists, ran into the Christmas store, since it was the closest thing we could get inside. It was packed - wall to wall people in there. People just made themselves at home in the Christmas coziness therein.

P1100653.jpg

P1100647.jpg

P1100649.jpg

After a bit, we ran across in the rain to Goofy's Candy Company. It's so bright and cute in there.

P1100639.jpg

P1100643.jpg

P1100640.jpg

Stitch wanted an ice cream, but he still hadn't finished the one he had started the trip with, so that was a big NO for him.

P1100645.jpg

I went down a little further to take some Lego pictures for Taylor and Eli. Eli is hopefully going to Disney World next summer, and he's gonna love these.

A bit more shopping.

P1100658.jpg

P1100657.jpg

Then it was time to board the bus and head toward a little Food & Wine Festival fun. Without the wine, for us. On the bus, I took a picture of the clock to document that we were indeed in Disney World on Jill's birthday.
