July 28th - While the others slept in, having no real agenda, Jill and I (and Brooklynn, of course) couldn't see just hanging out when there were so many things to see and do. We didn't get up and out the door way early, but mid-morning we headed to Old Key West. Neither of us had ever been there before, and it looks so pretty in pictures, so we wanted to check it out.
Brooklynn became an expert at waiting at the bus stop.
We found Old Key West to be as beautiful as we thought. It definitely gave us the feeling of a vacation spot. We looked around in the gift shop for some kind of inexpensive souvenir, but nothing really spoke to us, so we didn't purchase anything. We got a cheeseburger and a turkey sandwich at Good's and sat out by the water to eat.
We forgot the sippy cup, so....
The view from where we were sitting.
The surroundings were very nice, and I would love to stay there sometime for several days. Maybe I liked it so much because it reminded me of what it was like when I lived in St. Pete. I don't know, but there was something about it that I was really impressed with.
We took pictures of Brooklynn by the sandcastle, and we let her dip her sweet little feet in the kiddie pool.
No one was there but us, and we didn't figure anyone would much mind her kiddie pool hopping if it was only her tootsies. She had sand on her legs and arms, so Jill went into the gift shop and bought some baby powder, which easily rubbed it all away before we got onto the bus.
We headed back to Pop Century and picked up packages from the day before. We wandered around taking a few pictures, and by then John was ready to head out with us to MGM.
