Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Those pictures were great memom.

I just got back from my mini trip to Disney. Dbf and I had the best time ever. We actually stopped to smell the roses this time (since we have a long trip planned for the end of November)

So Excited - I got my official co-pilot license sititng in the front row of the monorail... It is the little things that make me happy :cool1: :cool1:

Happy Birthday Trent!!

That's the advantage to going more often. You can take time to look at the not so obvious things. There is just so much to see - all the architecture, the mosaics, paintings, signs, themed touches. I could spend hours and hours just taking pictures, not riding any rides or seeing any shows. The monorail was pretty cool from the front seat. We all got our licenses, too, and yes, we're Disney dorks enough to think that's a neat little thing to have. It's just another one of those things that's on the "Are you a REAL Diser?" checklist. We still haven't checked off "have Tonga toast", but that's on the schedule for the October trip. If we keep at it, we'll make Diser First Class eventually!

Hello, MeMom and BrooklynnsMommy! I have been reading your trip report for the last week or so and loving it. Brooklynn is a doll!!!

It caught my eye because I am going to WDW and staying at Pop in 2 1/2 weeks and I also hit that half-century milestone this summer

I was at Pop with four of my girlfriends in January to celebrate our 50th birthday year. We had connecting rooms and it was a blast. Our whole trip had a Red Hat theme. This time, my hubby is joinning me and I'm going to be meeting some DISers and WISH Peeps (including Punkin, who I noticed has also posted here), so I have really been enjoying seeing your photos as I get ready to go :yay:

It's always nice to have a new reader join us. I bet you had a great time with your girl pals. Do you have a picture you'd like to share of you guys in your red hats? My best friend of thirty plus years is going with us on our Spring Break trip. She went with me last year when Jill couldn't go, and we had so much fun. If I could talk her into a few days the weekend before Thanksgiving, I'd do it, but I better not push my luck. Having already added October to December, March, and next July, I might need to give my bank account a little break.

See . . . this is the benefit of having 2 trips in a year - there's less pressure on the first trip to be perfect, and to see everything because you get a DO-OVER!

Haunted Mansion opens the day before I come back home, so I'll try to get some pics. Also, I will let you all know how Animal Kingdom Villas was!

Just wanted to wish you an amazing trip - Enjoy the AK Villas.. Please share the pictures when you return..:wizard:

Another Great Installment. I have never been to OKW, but that was one of the resorts I was looking into for DVC (a little cheaper than some of the others) -

Yikes - I have never had tonga Toast. There are so many things that I still have to explore - i cannot wait to go back ..

Brooklynn's mommy - I cannot wait to see the pictures of the Halloween costume ..

memom - Are you back at school -- I saw school bus after school bus today while driving to work - made me a little sad b/c summer is coming to an end.

Three days!!! You lucky duck! I hope you have the grandest time at your brand new home away from home. It'll be great to know one of our buds is down there enjoying all the fun while we're out here in the real world. Have enough fun for all of us! Enjoy meeting with other Disers, and come back and share all your fun with us. Four weeks from right now, we'll be at Mickey's Party having a BLAST!!!

Yeah, we've been back for four weeks. You were gone when I wrote about getting pencil stabbed by one of my little angels. The girl in the class next to me (she and I do a lot of team teaching) has a student whose mom has a bunch of what looks like satanic symbols tattooed all over her, and he's a very different kind of kid. He refuses to do what he's asked to do, and today he said he wanted to stab himself with a fork at lunch so he could die and not go to school. One of our students slapped a parent in the parking lot yesterday. Quite a fun job, I must say! Yep, we're back in full swing. You...well, you were too busy enjoying your trip to Disney World to know what was going on out here in Reality World!:) Go back...run as fast as you can! It's much nicer there! Insert "running very quickly" smilie here!

Thanks for the welcome, MeMom! We did have a great time, but no one wanted to wear red hats, so one of my friends had picked up some Red Hat themed scarves which we tied onto our purses and such. I also made some buttons that had Red Hat stickers with Mickey ears added which we all wore. Since we couldn't all agree on a shirt design :rolleyes1 we just ended up wearing roughly the same color shirt each day.

Like you, I'm not that fond of having my photo taken, but I am fourth from the left, closed eyes and all. I will poof this in a couple days (only one of my friends understands this DIS thing and would probably be horrified to know that I posted this)!

*Poof!*

Sounds like you have some fun trips coming your way!!!

Thanks Snowbell! I'll try my best with posting pics when I get back!

I havent had that yet either! Hmmm . . . If I have a free morning, maybe I'll see if they have an openning!

Thank You! I hope I have a grand time too! I'm really looking forward to meeting some DISers. It'll be funny finding out people's real names! I'll be thinking about you all while I'm there!

Thanks for posting your pic! I hope you don't delete it. I think it's cool to see what people look like. I think I look at least 20lbs heavier and SHINEY in all my Disney pics - but I post them anyway!

Yesterday when I got home I had a package on my front doorstep. My Disney Photopass Cd has arrived. I am so excited. I will try and post some of those pictures this weekend or early next week. Happy Friday to all!

Glendamax:

Have fun on your trip! Please say you are doing another T.R.!:flower3:

Okay, continuing with July 28th, later in the afternoon:

Jill, John, Brooklynn, and I headed to MGM. We were going to try to see High School Musical, but it was rained out. The first time we tried (earlier in the week) and got rained out, they did a short drive thru. This time, they did nothing.

No one complained, though, because they sent this guy to shoo us all away. Not the guy in the front. The big ugly guy in the back. I have no idea who the guy in the front is.

It seemed like every time we stepped foot in MGM, it set off the rain clouds. It didn't stop us, though. We would don the cheap ponchos and go. Of course, the inside of ponchos on a steamy Florida July day can double as steamers, so we pulled them off as soon as the rain let up to a drizzle.

We did a bit of Christmas shopping. Which one should I choose?

At Muppets 3D, Brooklynn found the key under the mat.

We had to make a point to see the Power Rangers for my little friends Taylor and Eli, because they LOVE Power Rangers. I gave them each a copy of the picture I took when we got home, and they are quite proud to know that the real live Power Rangers know them personally! As I've said before, Brooklynn had no fear of any character.

DSC00285.jpg

I don't know if she was too little to be afraid, or if she just knows we would trade her in if she didn't do well at Disney!

Well, we wouldn't trade her in, but we wouldn't like her as much.

Well, we'd like her as much, but..well, she just better do well at Disney World, that's all!

"Hurry, Blue Ranger (or was the other one Green? I can't remember.), we are needed for an important mission!" Even if you aren't into Power Rangers, I still think the way they exit is pretty cool. The music plays, the call for help comes, and the Rangers head off to save the day!

We ate at Toy Story Pizza Planet, which is a neat place for kids. Brooklynn did a little bowling.
DSC00259.jpg

She may have cheated a bit.
DSC00263.jpg

Sorry about the "behind" picture, Jill, but you're skinny, so it's okay. Right? Now please, I beg of you, NEVER repay me by taking a picture of me from behind!

I really like the decor here.

Another behind picture. This one's a bit wider! This is Mr. Potato Head's view from the top.

A little time for some wild ant riding at the playground.

A slide down the film canister. The family that rides down film canisters together, stays together. Now there's a sentence you don't hear very often!

We also saw Jill's boss again and talked to them for several minutes. I think this was their last night there, so they were trying to pack in everybody's favorites one more time before they left. They seem like a very sweet family to me. The kids were very well-mannered and friendly, and they talked to me like they knew me. I was very impressed with both kids.

Next, we went down under the sea...

and luckily, that bad Ursula lost her battle for Ariel's voice yet again.

Jill took pictures without flash, but this is probably a hard place to get good pictures. We'll try again on our October trip. I have mentioned that we're GOING AGAIN, haven't I??? My gosh, I'm like a little kid. Four weeks from right now, we'll probably be at...I'm not sure, but I know it'll be in Disney, wherever we are!

We were headed to Epcot to close out the day, so we took one of the Friendship boats. While we waited, the ducks kept the small crowd entertained.
P1080766.jpg

It was still cloudy and drizzly, but we still enjoyed the ride past the Boardwalk. We just kept our fingers crossed that it would not rain out our evening too badly.

OOOOHH! CAN I CHOOSE! :cutie:

What happens when you find a key under the mat? I dont remember that one :confused3

oops sorry I put the wrong pic in! It was supposed to be the one of Brooklynn getting the key..

There's no prize or anything. It's just one of those fun Dis hidden secrets that you must do to earn your official 'Diser First Class' badge. It's stuck in the carpet, over to the right side as you go in. It's one of those extra touches Disney is famous for. Check it out next time you go so you can mark it off your list. You'll be one step closer to earning your badge. Of course, there are a lot of other things on that list, like eating school bread, taking the quiet path, having a Dole Whip, finding the Hidden Mickey in the leaves at AKL, finding the Singin' in the Rain umbrella....and lots of others. We can all add to the list. You'll probably have to go back quite a few times to earn your badge. Will that be a problem?

I just got caught up again! Brooklynn is adorable in her little striped outfit! Also so adorable with the pink Power Ranger! We just got my DD the Minnie costume with sparkly yellow shoes for Halloween. The Alice one is so sweet! Can't wait to see pics! I'm so sad that our mini trips do not overlap! Maybe another time :goodvibes

great update. :thumbsup2

Great pics.

Scott, that's a real compliment coming from you. You had great pictures on your report. Your water screen picture of Ursula and your boat finale pictures at Fantasmic turned out great. I've never had luck with either of those.

carrieannie - Add riding in the front of the monorail, seeing the EWP from the beach at Poly, finding the bear claw marks at Bear Country Jamboree... Are you writing these down? You can do some of these in just seven days!!!

:lmao: Oh MeMom,,,Your so funny! At first I thought you were serious about the badge! Then I kept reading. :rotfl2: I`ll keep a lookout for those fun things though! Last year we were kinda hooked on hidden mickeys.,,
