Before we left NH a few years ago, DH and I were going up to VT for the weekend around our anniversary. Nothing big, just a get-away. We didn't do anything while we were away. This year, we celebrated our 20th and the day passed like any other. :sad2: However, it is my "excuse" for going to Disney for a day while we're in FL.....I'm going to get the "I'm Celebrating" buttons and everything. Nothing wrong with a little extra attention for such an occasion! :flower3:

Great excuse to 'have to' go to Disney. ;)

DD took the course in school already. Now she has to pass the test and get 15/18. After that she can drive on the road. In July she will do the over-the-road part of the course and if she passes that, then I can get a % off of the insurance.

Being offered at school is a great option. We don't have that here.

Good morning. It's quiet around here.

I worked for a few hours this morning and I work Thursday. Not much of a work week for me. My son has finals this week with Thursday the last day of school. Graduation was Sunday. They had a tiny class of around 40 students. I think there are 67 in my sons class. He didn't have to be at school until 10:44am. I'm sure the current Juniors were excited to be able to park in Senior parking today. Yikes, he will be a senior next year.

:scared1:

9 days till DD turns 16 and go for her learner's permit test. :scared::moped::car:

:scared1::scared1:

Wow, it's funny how different states can be!....here in NH, they just have to be 15-1/2 to start driving with a parent. No test for that and no piece of paper. It's a whole new world, though!!!......hang onto your butt! :rotfl2:

.

Here it's a learner's permit at 15 where they can drive with an adult 18 or over with a license. Then at 16 they can take a test and get a full license.

Good evening. I'm waiting for 8pm so I can watch Hell's Kitchen. Exciting life I lead. Today is my wedding anniversary. My husband forgot, but I'm not surprised.

Happy Anniversary! Mine is this Thursday and we went out for dinner tonight to celebrate because DH is going out of town for work. The Alaskan cruise is our celebration because this is our 15th. We like to celebrate everything, the bigger the deal, the bigger the celebration.

Being offered at school is a great option. We don't have that here.

That's how I did it, but I'm not sure what is done now. I'll find out in a few years though. :scared1:

Mean Queen, thanks. Alaskan cruise is a wonderful celebration. I would love to go to Alaska. It's rare for us to go out to dinner. It's not in the budget with our daughter sucking us dry. Oh wait, we have a gc from Xmas we have not used. :yay:

Good morning everyone.

Mornin' SadieDog! :goodvibes How's Maine this morning? It's overcast here but fairly warm. It was supposed to be the warmest day of the week (into the low 80s) but I wonder now.

Last full day of school for the kids!! DS10 has 4th grade "graduation" this morning. Heading to middle school next year! I'll be happy to have them all on the same schedule, though. This year has been a tad crazy at times.

Hey LegoMom, it's not raining here. It will be easier for you with kids at the same school. Middle school in our town is 6,7 & 8th grades.

...same here. I probably won't be on the DIS for the next two weeks - E.o.Y. paperwork, my mom's coming Sunday [from Puerto Rico], DS'S graduation next Tuesday (our school's graduation is the day before), 8th Grade Social tomorrow evening, graduation party the weekend following that, etc....

I don't see why......:confused3

...PLUS, I have to go to the dentist today, after school, to repair a tooth that broke (or, piece of a tooth) at my brother's surprise 40th BBQ party that he had for his wife last Saturday....:guilty:

...well, she's here for TWO graduations - my DS graduates on the 19th and my niece graduates [HS] on the 22nd....

If it weren't raining I'd walk to the cafe to get a BLT. (we have to go outside to a different bldg). It just might be worth the walk in the rain for Bacon!

Lego Mom... I am green w/ envy... wishing I had a trip planned to Disney so soon... don't matter how short of a trip it is.. you are a veteran so you know how to manuver in the parks and what you have to do and what you can skip... You can enjoy it in a day....

I can only dream of the day when I have all 4 kids in the same spot.... never gonna happen. next year will be the worst... I'll have one in day care, one in Elementary, one in middle school and one in HS. but then the following year, two move up, and then I'll only have elementary and HS at the same time.

my kids' last day was yesterday... so now I'm trying to work on the summer plans... I'm usually more organized and have it figured out by March where they are going.. but with the girls being older I feel less stressed if I don't have a plan for every single day.. cuz I know I can always depend on one of them to baby sit if necessary for my middle son. It's not a crisis anymore... , oh.. guess what... my DD.. just finished 8th grade, and last week we found out she was nominated for the American Legion Honor award... one boy and one girl from the 8th grade class wins .... and she won it... I'm soooo proud! she did good. I'm so happy for her, it was a huge honor.. yay..

Sadie I hope you had a great anniversary afterall... it's not that it's not important, they are just not as thoughtful... and you're right.. after so many years, it turns into another day... we don't really celebrate too much either... maybe the big years.. I'll use it for an excuse to go to Disney or something.. like LM .. I went a few weeks before our 15th anniv.. but we got the buttons and all... that was one of the reasons we were going... it just wasn't the same day.

Kimmar ... your house looks gorgeous.... Everything is so green this time of year.. plus with all the rain we had, it's growing ...and growing... our back yard used to be green.. but with the two puppies... they are tearing it up!. and DH called me yesterday from the pet store and said he saw another little puppy that was SOOOOO cute.. what do I think??? ARE YOU FLIPPIN" CRAZY? we have 4 kids and two puppies right now... yes.. it was adorable.. but NO!! I don't want another dog... two is enough... I would rather have chickens than another dog!

So.. summer is here... I wish the sun would come out so we can enjoy it. I'm looking forward to the relaxing part.. less stress, but something is to be said about having a routine... other than swimming and the poconos, no real plans for the summer yet. maybe we'll get to the beach too... We were in Lancaster / Gettysburg last week... I thought about you PAMom on the drive out the turnpike... bought some whoopie pies .. yum.
