Amanda - did you get a new tag? I don't remember the last one.

Unfortunately, no. That was in my very first ever PreTrip report, and it really doesn't apply anymore because I'm not a teacher and can now take vacation when I want.

There's a house fire going on just down the road....at last count there were 9 fire trucks out here and I know there are at least 3 other towns involved. The road is closed and everything. And my sweet DH is sleeping through it all!! (He worked all night, left early and came home to go on DS10's field trip up to the mountains, and finally crashed around 8:30pm.) Someone out there said it was a lightning strike.....we did have a strong storm roll over a few hours ago, with a pop of thunder REAL close by. Wonder if it hit the electric and then just smoldered for an hour or so?

.

Wow, I hope they get that fire out soon.

I'm sure there's way more to it than just the one party. I've had a weird feeling about her all along. For instance, DH swears that when he was talking to the landlord prior to her moving in, the guy told him it had been rented to a single mom with twins. Well, who actually moved in was "a" mom, with not only twins but an older boy and a boyfriend! Now I don't know if that was known or if she tried to be sneaky, but either way that's a LOT of people in that little apartment!! He also had her remove her compost bin last weekend, and I just get the feeling that there is general friction between them. She may have decided that being here cramps her free-spirit style too much (although assuming she signed the same rental contract we did, the rules are clearly spelled out!). This landlord is not one to mess with, though. If you're honest and work with him, he'll treat you right. If not, well, the rental sign goes out!.....:rotfl2:

.

That's good for you! At least you know you will be more likely to have a good neighbor, because the bad ones will get the boot.

DH's grandma passed away this afternoon.

Just before 4p.

My MIL was the only one with her as she convinced her dad to go to church. She passed just after he left the nursing home for services.

(((((hugs))))).......Take care of yourself, 'k? I know you've got a lot going on. And you know we're here if you need to cry, vent, or just scream. :grouphug:

kwitch, I'm sorry. Hugs to you during this difficult time.

Get off the computer woman and get outside! We are also having a break in the rain but the pool is now too cold to swim. The rain brought it from a nice 86 to a cool 78. Yes, I know, Florida cold wimps. Instead, we will probably hit a local outlet mall to get some warm clothes for our Alaska trip. The girls don't have a lot of long sleeve shirts or long pants that fit.

I did get outside today. It was perfect weather. Low 80's and dry. I love when it's not humid.

Good morning. It's quiet around here.

I worked for a few hours this morning and I work Thursday. Not much of a work week for me. My son has finals this week with Thursday the last day of school. Graduation was Sunday. They had a tiny class of around 40 students. I think there are 67 in my sons class. He didn't have to be at school until 10:44am. I'm sure the current Juniors were excited to be able to park in Senior parking today. Yikes, he will be a senior next year.

9 days till DD turns 16 and go for her learner's permit test. :scared::moped::car:

Wow, it's funny how different states can be!....here in NH, they just have to be 15-1/2 to start driving with a parent. No test for that and no piece of paper. It's a whole new world, though!!!......hang onto your butt! :rotfl2:

At 15 kids here can take drivers-ed for a month to get their permit. They need to drive so many hours with the instructor. It's around $400 for the course.

Good evening. I'm waiting for 8pm so I can watch Hell's Kitchen. Exciting life I lead. Today is my wedding anniversary. My husband forgot, but I'm not surprised.

Smack that dude upside his head, girl!!!

And meanwhile, here:

Thanks. I love the purple sparkle letters. I haven't bothered mentioning it. It's not like we do anything anyway. Hmmmm do people normally celebrate the occasion? :lmao:

Before we left NH a few years ago, DH and I were going up to VT for the weekend around our anniversary. Nothing big, just a get-away. We didn't do anything while we were away. This year, we celebrated our 20th and the day passed like any other. :sad2: However, it is my "excuse" for going to Disney for a day while we're in FL.....I'm going to get the "I'm Celebrating" buttons and everything. Nothing wrong with a little extra attention for such an occasion! :flower3:
