I started on the low FODMAP diet to try to pinpoint what foods are causing me issues. I am in the elimination stage and am finding it very difficult to find foods to eat. Anyone have experience with this? Any recommendations? Recipes?

My recommendation is to think like the 1950's - "a meat and 2" with the meat (like a steak or chicken breast or pork chop) flavored simply with salt and pepper. Fill the plate with a FODMAP veg and fruit (or something like rice or potato - again 1950s) and call it a day.

Easiest allergy cooking (which applies to FODMAP too) is to always focus on "meat and potatoes" cooking - very simple, very much "as is" without mixing a lot of stuff up together...

Curious to see what people suggest as I am supposed to do this and find most of the foods I eat on the "bad" side of the list! I find myself eating what people would consider too much beef and I don't know what to do.

Exactly. Even the "healthy" foods I eat are high in FODMAP's. Who knew that apple's could be bad?

I am day 3 and just got word that I have to do some tests before my official GI appointment. Which means I probably should go back to my regular diet for a day or two, so that those tests are accurate to my usually diet. My doctor said he would make a referral but since it had been more than 2 weeks I figured I would just start things on my own because I was getting tired of how my body was feeling.

I used to eat "an apple a day" and never thought it contributed to my stomach pain. After getting the list from my doctor, I was like "well, I guess this is why I always have a problem." Most of the food was in my diet. Someone suggesting peeling the apple and I have tried that with varying degrees of success. Sometimes I can eat a peeled apple and sometimes it bothers me.
