I guessed right! A new puppy, and a very cute one.

We are going out to the Melting Pot for dinner tonight with friends to celebrate New Years. Then we'll be home before midnight to have a small party by the pool (not in it, too cold) with the kids. One friend has already offered to be the DD (designated driver, not dear daughter.)

Started my day and new year with a 3-mile run!!! Ran 90% of it and VERY proud of myself seeing as this was my first run in several weeks.

Mornin'. So tired. I would have loved to sleep in but we had guests stay over for New Year's and their boys were not very quiet when they woke up. I'm either hoping for a nap or an early bedtime.

Mid-70's right now. Probably going to get close to 80. I'm sitting around in shorts and a t-shirt. It did get chilly enough last night for us to light up the fire pit by the pool. I have yet to be able to turn the a/c off for any length of time. I think we are supposed to get another cold front this week, hopefully that will cool it down enough to keep the a/c off for a bit.

How's it up in your neck of the woods?

...it reaches 56 yesterday and I think it'll be close to that again today....not too shabby, considering that this time last year, we were hit by a 14" snowstorm!

Mean Queen - very jealous of your weather. Although, your A/C bill, not so much!!

kimmar - are you supposed to be in that deep freeze coming northeast this week? I don't know how wide-spread it's going to be but I know New England is going to get very cold. Extreme cold helps keep the snow away, though, so at this point I'll take it. (I'm pushing for that earlier-than-later June school release, can you tell?!....)

DH is going to his brother's this afternoon to watch the Patriots. I'm going to do some scrap booking.

The bill won't be summer bad, but it won't be our nice winter low. We used to be able to go from November to March without it, but now we can barely get 2 months of no a/c.

No football for us today. DH is too upset that there are no bowl games on New Year's day. Says it just doesn't feel right. I'm upset we aren't getting the usual wings to go with those games because that was going to be my last splurge before I get back on the diet train.

We got Chinese food, watched an old Don Knotts movie on tv, and before that was over, DH was asleep on the recliner and I turned in to bed by 10:30! Fun party animals we are not.

What a cute puppy. I went without a computer since Friday because I let DD take the laptop to her dad's so he could show her how to put a cd onto her Polaroid music thing.

I can't get onto F/B or get my email with the laptop. I have an external modem hooked up because I have dial-up still. I think I'm going to have to get a wireless modem. I wonder if I can still have dial-up with a wireless modem.

I think someone said that they had a Lenovo. Mine optimizes every time that I turn it on and it's quiet annoying. I once let it go for an hour and it still kept going. I usually hit 'escape' because the optimizing is so annoying. Any suggestions?
