AWESOME!!! Waitlist came through!

We had ressies for a studio for Wednesday and Thursday of Thanksgiving week at HH, then moving to a 1BR. Member services called to say the Thursday night 1BR had opened up. When the CM checked the waitlist for Wednesday night, it had expired. When she extended it, we came up on the waitlist for a 1BR for that night too!!! Now we don't have to move!!! And I can cook Thanksgiving dinner in our unit, rather than ordering in!! We are so excited!

Looks like once you get to the 30 day mark, the waitlists come through sometimes. People cancelling at the last minute before they lose their points. Thanks for the info- we are still waitlisted for Jan 1 and 2 at OKW. We can't even get a cash ressie for those two days at OKW. We are currently booked for 1 and 2 at POR at an AP rate of $79 a night.

Joe-- that is exactly what the CM said --30 days out is a big cancellation time. I will keep my fingers crossed for you for OKW Jan 1-2.
BTW, We are going back to HH for Christmas because after we had planned on Thanksgiving, our friends said they wanted to go too. But they were expecting their little girl (and she was born on 10/24) and had just adopted a toddler, so they couldn't get away at Thanksgiving. We went on the waiting list, and VOILA!! that came through before Thanksgiving did.
We have so many blessings to be thankful for this year, and so many happy times to anticipate!

Thanks, everyone!! It has been so fun planning out meals-- we told each of the kids they can plan 2 breakfasts. We bought a family sized frozen lasagna (like from a caterer) and frozen garlic bread for one night, too.
Hey, Dottie-- Do you think our 1BR unit would be large enough for our coffee and dessert DIS/AOL meet? If so, we would be glad to host it. But you have to come and help make the coffee!! I'll bring my world-famous pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

I'll be glad to help with whatever I can, but looking at the list of the number of people we have coming, I think a 1BR or 2BR might be a bit crowded. Unless we could have guaranteed good weather and could use the porch as well.

I'm still thinking of the best place to do it. I'll contact the resort and ask if they have any suggestions for a public area that might work, but not interfere with the resort activities.
