We are headed to the Poly 11/1-11/9. Since this trip was booked last year, we are on the 5+2 plus an additional night (actually the non-package night is our first night).

We should be closing any day now on our BWV resale and DH is still hoping we can get the first night (11/1) using our points. I don't think this is very probable since, best case scenario, we won't be in the system until the middle of next week.

However, I went on to Disney's website to see what is available at DVC properties for cash ressies and saw that for 11/1 there is a studio at BCV, VWL, a one-bedroom at OKW, and a two-bedroom at BWV. We would happily take any of these.

So, my question is, are these availabe to DVC members on points or have they been turned over to CRO and no longer available to DVC owners?

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer!!!

Okay...CRO and DVC are 2 separate inventories. Disney retains 4% of rooms for cash ressies and at the 60 day mark unbooked DVC rooms get released to CRO for cash ressies. Sometimes there can be quite a bit available thru CRO due to DVC members trading out as well. Whenever a member uses points for non-DVC such as DCL or The GF or POLY for example those rooms get traded. Anyway, at this point you are within the 60 day mark so the ones available on the Disney website thru CRO are no longer in DVC's points inventory. I'd call MS though, you never know what may be available for just the 1 night ...people cancel ressies all the time when they get closer to their trips and you can also wait list. You may also want to inquire about what is available with the DVC member discount for cash - sometimes DVC has cash rooms available and not points or vice/versa. Ya never really know what they actually have though at any given time without calling to find out.

Best of luck and pixie dust to you;)

Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is I can't call until we are in the system...which will hopefully be next week. All I can do is wait!

Thanks again!!!

True enough that you can't call MS to book with points or the member discount but availibility will be sparce anyway. I don't think a week will make too drastic a difference at this point but ya never know. You could always see if CRO has anything available with an AP rate or other discount code and just book thru them -- it wouldn't be an official DVC stay but you'd be at a DVC non the less.

Sometimes CRO has a better rate with a code than MS has with the discount too. Just a thought:wave2:

I just called MS to see what was available for the night of 11/1, and as of right now, there is no availability for any size unit at any DVC resort for that night.

Even under these circumstances, DVC can still pull back the room if a member calls to book using points. There does need to be some coordination between MS and CRO, but if the room is available, you should be able to get it.

CRO does get the advantage of having access to every unbooked room at 60 days, but it's not exclusive access. Otherwise, DVC members would never be able to book a room under 60 days, and many rooms would probably go completely unreserved.

That's weird. Disneyworld.com is showing a BCV studio available for that night. MS should be able to grab that for a member rather than let it sit out there waiting for a cash ressie that may never materialize, right? We're only 2 weeks from that date.

Not if that room was CRO's all along. If it was a DVC room that was released, then yes they can go get it. If it was CRO's to begin with, either from a long time, or due to a recent DVC transaction, then no.

Yeah, doesn't make too much sense. (although I understand how it works and what jel0511 is saying)

I am on the waitlist for every resort for a 1 bedroom for dec 2-5 (a thursday, friday and saturday). I already have a studio boardwalk view, just want some more room. When I check disney's website, they have availability for the 3 nights at both BWV and OKW.

Oh well, maybe as it gets closer......

Deanna, I hope you are in the system soon and can get the night you need!

Thank you all for your replies. I, too, saw the Beach Club studio and was wondering if it could be pulled for a DVC member (not necessarily me, but I know many are waitlisted for the same time frame). I now understand that some rooms belong to CRO.

I will try once we get in the system. If nothing becomes available we will enjoy our stay at the Poly, knowing our next Disney trip will be a trip "home."

Thanks again!!!
