Autograph pen recommendation, please?

Have picked up the kids a couple of Mickey autograph books but not sure what type of pen/marker would be the most appropriate?

Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated.

We used sharpie markers because there big so the characters can get a hold of them easily. They work well even in the rain and don't run. I used 2 for the 4 days we were there.

From talking to friends that are "character greeters" (the folks that accompany the characters and help with line control), the characters prefer to not use sharpies, as the permanent marker may stain their fingers. However, pens of similar width (ballpoint) are recommended. Some people use multi-colored pens, others stick with a single color pen, but as long as it's a "fat" pen, the characters should be able to grip it easily.

DD wanted a "cool" pen, it was a light up I got at a card and party store (not sure how much under 5 for sure!), you twist it flashes red/blue, you push it writes...

it was a little thicker than the standard ball point pens I have in my purse, and I had read that the charcters needed a "thicker" pen to hold on to... and at the hotel (Poly) where I bought the autograph book, they asked if I didnt want to purchase the pen also (I held my breath and said no thank you)

I loved that flashing pen!! It was a great thing to spark interaction with the characters and DD!! Lilo and Stitch in MGM, it was such a hot day... and Stitch had the funniest interaction...

We went to an Enights, late, dark, and short lines, and the flashing pen at night was a great hit!!

Just wait and buy one in the parks. They are only like $2.50 and they are a nice souvineer. You can find them in different styles/characters at different stores and they are easy to find.

Fat Crayons work great. Just bring a whole box with you so you can have different colors. Bring a regular pen for "face characters" to sign with.
