Autograph page designs- all pages restored 8/7/10

OMG, I cant believe I just found this thread. I LOVE those autograph designs. They are way TO cute!! :cutie: I think what Im gonna do, because theres so many and I dont feel like lugging them around in a folder or book or something, I think I will print them out and start doing a scrapbook for my upcoming Disney trip. And then take pics of each character, either with or without me and/or DH and then when I get home, take those pics, get them printed out and then put them on those autograph sheets.

First of all, I was debating over whether to spend the time, ink, paper, etc on these autograph pages, but I'm pretty convinced to do it for my daughter (not so sure if I'll do one for my 2 nephews though as I seem to have done everything for our grand gatherings trip and it's getting expensive!).

It looks like cardstock is the paper of choice? What about sizes - which seems to work the best? 4x6 or 6x6? Do you print on both sizes? Do you bind them first or wait until you get back from your trip to put in order and bind then? How about covers? Could I possibly have any more question?? :confused3

Thank you for your help!!!

LOL! All perfectly good questions.

I prefer cardstock, I tried printing them on heavy weight paper, but they bled through a bit. I've printed out both sizes. I think which size you choose is a personal preference. For our last trip I used the 6x6. This trip, I haven't decided (I better, I need to get them printed! we leave in 18 days!!!)

Last trip: I printed them out and put them into a photo album (with the plastic sleeves) and just slid out each picture to have the character sign it..we carried a small clipboard.

This trip, I'm going to spiral bind them. DH was the one who spent the time getting the pages out of the albums (we had 4 of them) and since he's not going, I thought it would be a bit easier to do the spiral binding.

Covers - I WANTED to create some covers, but never got to it. Pat has a few really nice ones or you could decorate some cardstock with stickers and laminate it. Don't do it too thick if you're having it bound..no thicker than the cardboard at the back of a notebook is what I was told at Staples.

Printing on both sides - If you want to reuse it from trip to trip, that's a good idea. Or print on one page and then when you come home, take the book apart, take out the pages you didn't use and then put it back together. Then put a picture on the facing page of kids with character.

You don't need to print them all. There's many we did that are really, really rare, but we wanted everyone to have the option (I'm only printing the ones we know we're most likely to get and the ones we're REALLY hoping to get..even if they're not so likely.

I'm really glad you like them and I hope your daughter does too.

We just got back on Sunday.....We took the autograph books and they were a big hit. All in all we got about 60 signatures. We could have got more, but frankly we got tired of standing in autograph lines. We decided to forgo the "tv disney" characters of the Einsteins, Handy Mandy and Kim Possible.
I have access to a binding machine, so I printed them out on white cardstock, alphabatized them and top bound them. I laminated a cover and back with cardstock and a piece of cardboard from a mens dress shirt for a little extra sturdiness. We carried them everywhere in our backpack (we printed three). They were a little heavy, but not horrible. I also brought a fabric pencil case and about 10 different color sharpies for the characters.
Some characters we easily found last time were no where to be found. It was a little disapointing cause the main characters of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald where everywhere at every park. I would have liked a little more variety, but oh well. we did pretty good.
Only one I did not have a page for was the Mad Hatter and it was my fault, he was done, but somehow I missed printing him. And in keeping with his kinda cranky character, he "yelled" at me for having Alice and not him. So it was funny. It worked out as I printed a few "blank" pages in case I ran into someone not in my book.
The books were wonderful "savers" several times when we had long waits (for meals or parades) we got them out and the kids passed the time looking them over.
If you have any questions about where we found someone, please let me know. We were thrilled to get Wendy and Peter Pans autograph this time and disapointed we did not see Flick, Atta, Koda and Kenai (we found them easily last time) We also amazingly did not see Daisy. Mary Poppins apparently was at MK on Saturday, I ran into another family who had got her autograph, but I missed her...drat.
I can not thank you enough for the wonderful pages.....they were one of the highlights of our trip.
Also as a side note, we won dream passes our first day....We were getting off Barnstormer at 10:00 am. There were no lines and we went through again, and won a second pass. Although the crowds were so low that day we did not need them. My daughter was also chosen at MGM to get a rose from Belle and "Beast" at the end of Beauty and the Beast, and my husband was sung to for his birthday by the group at the begining of the same show.
We had 4 December birthday people and wore our free birthday buttons and go free dessert several times. And last but not least, my son was chosen to fight with "Captain Jack" in the pirate show. BTW Captain Jack is not signing autographs, no matter how much you beg him:guilty: .

The Mad Hatter did the same thing to me in June when I didn't have one for him...I 'm making sure I have one this time. We'll be going to the P&PP so hopefully Captain Jack will sign it then..Fingers croseed! He's the one I really want!!! We didn't see Daisy until our last day (10 days!!! I thought we were going to miss her for sure!) We also take different color sharpies and change them to match the pages.

Yeah on all your dreams, that is awesome. I m glad you had such a wonderful trip

And oh my goodness.....how could I have neglected to write this...a HUGE THANK YOU to Heather for the pages. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to have them.
Stephanie

You're very welcome!

Now I'm headed down to print off all of our pages, can you believe I haven't done it yet????

OP, your pages are awesome.:thumbsup2

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread. Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered before.

How are you all using the pages?

Can they be copied onto white card stock and bounded into a book?

I'd love to make two for our next trip. I just don't want to deal with loose pages.

Sorry, don't know how I missed this...

Yep, that's just what I plan on doing, printing them on cardstock and having them bound at Staples. I'm glad you like them!

I just wanted to say thanks for doing all of this and sharing them. We are planning on going in December and I was thinking about making an autograph book for both of my boys and this is what I was looking for. My 9 year old wasn't excited about collecting autographs until he seen your pages! Thanks again. Lisa

OK, Heather, another question! First of all, let me say that these designs are FABULOUS! I'm printing them all out today, and my poor printer is sucking up the ink! LOL! Your designs will be well represented in May!!! But several of them are printing really blurry. In fact, I noticed that when I save them to My Pictures, and then click on them, when they pull up screen size, I'm okay, but if they pull up smaller than that, it's like the pixel image size is much smaller, and they won't print out. For example, All the original characters are great! So are the Aladdin character, Alice characters, and Cinderella characters. But the Peter Pan characters are all much smaller (btw, I'm using the 6x6 images with the names on them) and print out blurry. Any ideas?

Thank you very much for these beautiful pages. I can't wait to get them printed out!

I am just starting to plan our trip, and I stumbled upon this thread. The graphics/designs are just wonderful. My daughter will LOVE her autograph book!:lovestruc

Yep, mine sucks up ink too. I've gotten through Drizella printed out and need to finish up. We leave in 2 weeks.

I'm not sure why it's doing that. I just went in and checked and they're all about the same file size. Peter Pan printed just fine for me. The only thing I can think is that when you saved the picture, maybe you saved the smaller size?:confused3 Try printing it directly from Photobucket. Right click on it and instead of save picture as, try just Print the picture

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I'm very glad you like them. I can't wait to hear how they turn out!

Thanks Heather, I'll try that. But I just LOVE your designs! I have about 1/2 - 1/3 of them printed out, and it's going to be a heavy autograph book to lug around! But well worth it! Do you recommend binding first? I think I'm going to bind with pretty ribbons myself to give it a more personal look. But I'm so afraid of it getting wet! Maybe get the supersize Ziploc and put all pages plus the clipboard in there?

I am so coming back to this page when I go home!

Heather, I've just printed everything you have in 4 x 6 and was wondering if you planned on reformatting any of those that are only 6 x 6, i.e. country bears. etc. These look so incredible that I just know I'll end up making another book for my nephew! I just can't get over the clarity!!!! Absolutely beautiful!

I do plan on it, however, I may not get to it until Feb, after we get back. Chaosent (Penny) has many designs in the 4x6 format if you can't wait until then. She's got some really beautiful ones too.

This is a great thread. Your designs are great!

But not to sound too stupid.

Where do I get the designs to print out?

I would want/need 6 x 6 as my photo album is 7 x 7.

And do the characters sign the page? Then I can put them in my scrapbook and put a picture of my daughter on the other side?

Do I print them on my printer or does a place print them.

We leave in 2 weeks so I need/want to try to do this soon.

Thanks

I saved all mine to My Pictures, then printed them out actual size (6 x 6 or 4 x 6, depending which you choose). I'm going to bind mine with ribbon (but you could also put in a scrapbook!) after we get back. A lot of people have recommended carrying a clipboard to put the page on for the character to sign. I think I will also print out a matching border page for the photos of the characters with my daughter. I'm really looking forward to trying it this way, even though I know it's costing way more than the $12.95 photo/autograph album in the parks!!! It's so going to be worth it!

Heather,

I just finished copying your 4x6 pages (mostly the ones with the names). I'm really looking forward to seeing the remaining charaters done in that size (if that is your plan). If not, I'll copy what is there and use those.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into these. They're awesome!

Megan

I do plan on it, but probably not until after I get back..Maybe Feb.

Penny (chaoscent) has some beautiful 4x6 pages if you want to look at hers. I'm debating whether or not to do a 4x6 album for myself just so I can use some of her pages!
