Planning to be there Aug 14th - 21st with our granddaughters (ages 7 and 5)for their very 1st trip to the world.
We will probably stay at one of the value resorts - more spending for the parks and character meals!
Free dining would be awesome

So it looks like we are going to be staying at the POLY 8/13-8/19 2011!!! I was leaning towards the Beach Club because we stayed at the Boardwalk on our last visit and I loved how you could walk to two different parks, especially Epcot, by my DD made a great case for staying at the Poly so now I'm sold!

Can't wait!

Add me to the bunch! Definitely hoping for some kind of discount... DF & I would like to Disneymoon but it's not going to happen by paying full rate. My past 2 disney trips I've had some sort of deal... really hoping to get a discount so we can honeymoon in a Deluxe!

Aimros..greetings from a fellow central Mass resident! We can't really afford a deluxe when you look at the total price either...but decided that it was very affordable if we broke it down per person/per week. When you book thru the Disney site, you are only required to put down a $200 deposit. You can then make payments as often or as little as you like, just so long as it's paid for 45 days before you arrive. So we are putting $200 down and each of the 5 of us going, will pay around $25 a week for the next 40 weeks or so and voila, the Disney trip is paid for! I'm also sure that eventually they will release a discount code for August 2011 and we will then call up and have them apply the discount and save some more money that way. We did this when we stayed at the Boardwalk in 2007. When the discount code came out, it chopped something like $700 off of our total package price! Good luck with you and your DF!

Count me in... I am currently signed up at the June 2011 thread, but we are rethinking our plans and may hold off until August in hopes of FD.

anyone going with the FD offer just posted on Disney? I really want to wait for the room only discount as both my girls are light eaters and we would save more with room only.

We're hoping for an early August code. I was disappointed, but not too surprised, that the FD code starts too late for our trip. I was also disappointed that the summer season covers the 1st half of August, though maybe we can finish our trip with a couple of value season nights.

We'd like to book a standard room at POR.

Let's hope some major pixie dust will come our way!!

Just booked CSR with free dining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOO excited - it starts the day we arrive!!!!!

I wasn't sure if I wanted free dining - but I think it will be better than a room only discount. The way the numbers are looking, FD is a better deal for us unless we got a 40% room code. Then it's pretty much a wash.

Well, went ahead and booked this am. We are staying at POR Aug 19-26. Had to change our dates to get the free dining and now the kids are going to miss 1 1/2 days of school..I'm sure they will be soooo upset Saving money is more important the those first couple of days of school when they don't do anything anyway .

we also went ahead and booked six nights at CSR with free dining startin Aug 24. I want to add on 4 more nights at AKL but i'm going to wait for a room only discount. I've read that the food at CSR is more expensive than the average mod resort, so maybe free dining is a good option.

Sounds like there could be some Dismeets in the making. We booked POFQ from the 19-26. School starts soon after so a nice way to end our summer.

Went ahead and booked a POR split stay -- 8/17-8/18 room only & 8/19 - 8/24 with FD and 7 day MYW tickets. Will pick up the tickets on the 17th. I will keep a look out for other codes that might change the dates. School starts on 8/25 and did not want the kids to miss the first day. Of course, they will probably be zombies in the classroom .

We're officially booked for early August during the FD black-out and am hoping that a decent room only code will come our way.

Perhaps so many people will book after the 19th that there will be an incentive for WDW to release a discount earlier in the month. I hope so!

We're booked too for next year!!! We'll be at the Poly August 20 - 27, 2011 with free dining. Glad I have you guys to keep me company for the next 12 months!!!
