OK I heard from Mark. He advises they're still at MCO but he got Sandra some wonderful accomodation right at the airport. He said 10 Zombies and she was sleeping like a baby. He forwarded the photo from Gate 10A of Sandra patiently waiting for their flight.

Hey, Grahame, remember last night when we were laughing about our storm being "life-threatening"....well, here's our latest National Weather Service Update for my area issued this morning at 7:41 a.m.

THIS IS LIKELY TO BE A RECORD SETTING SNOWSTORM IN BOSTON WHEN
COMPARING AGAINST DATA...DATING BACK TO 1892. FOR PROVIDENCE THIS
SHOULD BE A TOP 3 SNOW EVENT. THE 17.8 INCHES THERE AT 7AM MAKE IT
THE 6TH WORST SNOWSTORM IN PROVIDENCE HISTORY DATING BACK TO
1905...HEADING FOR TOP 3 RANKING BY DAYS END.

BLIZZARD OR NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR ALONG THE COAST AND
HIGH TERRAIN THIS MORNING AND THEN GRADUALLY RECEDE TO ONLY THE
IMMEDIATE COAST DURING THE AFTERNOON.

THIS IS A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING SITUATION FOR THOSE WHO
VENTURE OUT DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM THIS MORNING.

AGAIN...TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED UNTIL LATE TODAY.

IF YOU LEAVE THE SAFETY OF BEING INDOORS...YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE

Raises her hand and waves it in the air ME ME ME. I was just thinking about how I was going to miss Palo's because I felt uncomfortable doing it alone. Pick a Day, any Day and I am there.

Looks like they have taken Puerto Vallarta off the 14 day list, what a shame, DD was loving the zip line tour, I was loving the horseback rainforest and we both loved the pirates cruise.

Winds are maybe 45 now with *much* higher gusts (maybe 55-60?). Officially we have 18", but almost impossible to measure. I actually have bare grass on both the E and W side of the house where the wind funnels through.

At 4:00AM Denise couldn't stand the noise (our bedroom is in the NE corner) and had to move down the hall to a south-facing room. Falmouth just reported a 78mph gust.

The fence in the picture below is maybe 3-1/2 feet high.

Thanks for the picture Jazz. Looks like a pretty bad storm! But, there's always a bright side. Any chance it will turn into a three day weekend for ya?

I think we're supposed to feel some of it tonight. Projected lows are going to be in the mid-thirties. They'll be priming the sprinklers for the strawberries and rolling out the fire barrels for the oranges!

This had nothing to do with the weather btw. Jazz had that Hot Mexican chili, and is also prone to snoring. I don't blame you for one moment Denise

You live right on the beach???

The water in the background (I'm surprised you could see it) is a river that feed the head of Narraganssett Bay. We're about 18 miles from the Atlantic ocean as the crow flies. Most of the crows are grounded today, however.

We do have a small cottage (read: shack) right on the ocean. I bet it is wild down there now.

I just ordered me & the family the "Bringing Home the Magic" t-shirts from Zazzle.com. I got us all lime green of course. They were a bit pricey, but I really wanted us to have them to wear when we board the ship.

Wow we have so many cruisers from PA! My son and I started shoveling this morning (remember my hubby and daughter went 'camping' in the northern most part of the Poconos). Our driveway slopes downward. Anyhow I saw a plow and flagged him down. $40 later (not bad for 5 minutes work) and we were basically plowed out although he didn't do a perfect job. I don't know how we'll reach the trash can. Then we (read I) shoveled the long brick pathway to our front door, salted, and voila we are now officially out from under the snow. Normally I don't get plowed out because you never know when they'll show up but I was so exhausted after doing about 25% of the driveway. Well, well, well worth the money!
