And I have to say, I just don't understand the recent negative reviews I have been reading.

We started off with the cheese platter, it was great.
I had the Smoky Portobello Soup, it was as good as it always is.

I had the infamous Salmon, and FH had Halibut.
Both were FANTASTIC.
I will say one thing: The main entrees were noticeably smaller than usual.
The berry Cobbler was made differently, but still really good. (This they gave to us in celebration of birthday, which was a pleasant surprise.

All in all, a great evening. :)

I agree!! Our dinner there was wonderful (esp cheese plate) and the server was perfect, attentive but not hovering. So - let everyone else stay away, easier ADR for Us...;)

glad to hear good reviews, trying this Nov. for the first time and very excited to try portabella soup. My Dh is a fan of game so hopefully he will find something he likes as well.

I completely agree. We love Artist Point! In my opinion, it has some of the best food out of all the signatures. Glad you enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

We have eaten at AP twice and both times we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting and the food is really really good. The last time we ate there we got to sit at the "most requested table in the restaurant" or so the hostess said it was....the table in the corner infront of the huge window that overlooks the waterfall. That was gorgeous, and each time we were there our servers were top notch. We will be definitely be returning here again.

We love it, too! Especially the cheese platter, mushroom soup and the berry cobbler. Yum! And we have also had the table with the view...:thumbsup2

I love Artist Point and try to eat there on each trip. We were just there is April and had a wonderful meal. It's back on our list for August. Chef Al is a genius.

We loved Artist Point! There were a few negative reviews last time and I did cancel our ADR because of them. Just before we left the UK I called and made another ADR here as I thought it was worth a go. Thank god I did as it was probably one of the highlights of our trip. We have another ADR booked in September for here. The buffalo was subime:lovestruc

We loved Artist Point! We tried it for the first time in April and thought it was one of our best meals. We'll definitely be going back.

Thanks for all the posts on this place! We will be trying this place for the first time in July. I have read lots of bad reviews, but I still like to see for myself. I'm not sure what I will order, but my DP LOVES Salmon !

Any and all restaurants will have bad nights, and I'm sure AP has them on occasion, too. That being said, I've found far fewer negative reviews on AP than most other signature restaurants. I've eaten at AP several times in recent years--the last time being October--and never been disappointed. I've had the odd dish that wasn't as good as I had hoped, and once had a server who was diligent but talked way too much to the detriment of his service. Still, overall, I find AP to be consistently good and a wonderful place for a meal. That it remains a somewhat hidden gem among signature restaurants is a-ok with me.:thumbsup2

So how would you describe the sauce on the salmon? That's what I didn't like when we were there two weeks ago. The berry sauce was gone and a new "lighter, Aisian" sauce was in its place.

Thank you for sharing! DH and I are very excited to eat at AP in August. Any wine recommendations?

Funny you ask ,it didn't seem like it had any sauce! It was salted/peppered, and it was REALLY good.
Served over ditalini pasta, I believe....it tasted like there may have been chicken broth? :confused3 Either way, it was VERY good!!

Our Signature Plate - Cedar Plank Roasted King Salmon - with spring vegetables, Orange-Soy Buerre Blanc, and parsley oil
(So this is how it is listed on ALLEARS, however, it was different).

YES. We really enjoyed the King's Estate Pinot Noir...went well with everything, especially the fish!

I am one of the recent negative or not great reviews. We didn't care for the apps, my DHs salmon was good but my entree wasn't. I diid like my dessert: cobbler. Our waiter wasn't good at all, ignored us a lot. It just wasn't good for us and there are so many others that are better. But I know with other places it depends on the server and maybe what you get or how it is that day. Oh but we did have the mac and cheese side dish which was incredible but I wouldn't go back just for that.
Glad you liked it!

Always had fantastic experiences there, and March 2010 was our most recent. Small groups, large groups (party of 10 two years ago), always wonderful! Portabello soup is terrific. I had the pork chop in March, and it was scrumptious. Going back in September!

OP - Thanks for your recent positive review!:thumbsup2
I've been reading all the Artist Point comments lately as we have our first ADR in September. Recently I'd been seeing some negatives, but your post has helped me put them in perspective.
