Speaking of DFW DIS meets and paigevz. . .Why the heck haven't you come to a DFW meet yet??? A couple of us were wondering about that very thing at our meet last month . You are not anonymous, you know .

I'm NOT?????????? How did that happen?

WMK invited me several times quite graciously, but I have had really quite a lot happening here.

HOWEVER, it's all settled down now. But where on earth do I go to find out when and where the meets are? I haven't found this mysterious place YET. I think I am blocked from it.

A while back, I was given 2 warnings for a signature rule violation regarding a photo I had uploaded into my signature. This photo fit within the 300 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. The first warning I was given, I had the photo, within the 300 pixels wide and 200 pixels high guideline, plus about 6 lines of text. The second warning I got all I had was the photo (no text), again, the photo being within the 300 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. So I'm curious to know why I was given these warnings?

The message you received with the warning should have explained what the problem was. My guess is that the file size of your image might have been too large. The images need to be a reasonable physical dimesion (the pixel size you're talking about), but the actual file size (in bytes) is also important. Head to the Tech Support forum and look at the sticky posts there for a full explanation of the signature guidelines, complete with examples.

And by the way- the current graphic in your signature is over the permitted 200 pixels tall. Might want to edit that before the signature fairy comes around.

Paige is almost as bad as I am...and we're best friends, so that tells a lot.

Speaking of which, is it true that if Mod gets naughty they loose their status? Do mods and webmasters get removed if they get points? If you've been sent to the naughty mat in the past, does that mean that you wouldn't ever be asked to be a mod? (or is that when they make you a Tag Fairy)

A Mod needs to behave appropriately. We would probably counsel a mod privately rather than issue points if we had a problem, but we would have to remove them if they couldn't correct their behavior.

Being "sent to the naughty mat" can mean a lot of things! If a poster had earned small points for a very minor infraction, that alone probably wouldn't exclude them from consideration as a mod. But if the points were for an infraction that indicates anger or impulse control issues, I'd personally have a hard time supporting their appointment as a moderator.

I have a question. I e-mailed several mods and the admin about a month ago regarding an issue I had. It was on the DIS but not the CB. I never recieved an answer from four of the five mods, and no reply from the admin. Why was my issue basically ignored?

?? Sounds like you did get an answer from a moderator. Doesn't sound ignored to me.

We have a small team of volunteer moderators, and a very large site. It's not realistic to expect every moderator to be available to answer every question personally, especially when it sounds like you asked the question of multiple people.

Without knowing the specifics of your issue, it's hard to answer any more specifically. If you still have an issue and it's something that needs to be addressed, feel free to email admin@wdwinfo.com with details.
