We got to know Art from the Samantha Brown episode of Great Hotels that was all about the Beach Club. Based on when we stayed at the BCV in Jan. 07, we had to have recorded that show about 3 years ago. (Still have it on the DVR, too!) Anyway, we really could not believe it when we met him and he was even more charming in person. I just love the way he takes such care to make everyone welcome, right down to each of the children.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and we'll certainly stop by over Christmas to say hello!

I made a point, while staying at the BCV last week, to find a manager and tell her how much we missed seeing Art at the front door, and that we were thinking about him while he recovers.

Hello All -

I spoke to Art he is doing well - he can't wait to get back to work - he will be there tomorrow.

Art usually works Tuesday - Saturday 7:30am-4:00pm and he usually takes lunch from 2:30pm-3:30pm.

He looks forward to seeing everyone when he is back at the front door of the Beach Club.

I didn't know about Art, until I found this thread today....wow. I read all 18 pages. Maybe I will be able to meet him in October. I am an Art fan!! When our Dis group gets together at my house this weekend I am going to ask then if they know him. Thanks for telling me about "the Art of Disney".

Thanks for the updates. We were at BC last Friday, for breakfast. My dd, 15, was upset to see that Art wasn't there. I had forgotten to check this thread, so had no idea what his status was. We both were a bit worried about his health. My dd will be happy to know that he is well and headed back to work..even though she didn't get to see him and say hello.

just dropped a couple of Lockers off at Beach Club Villas and I'm happy to report that Art's back and looks great...he says his wife is VERY glad he's back at work!

I saw Art yesterday, He's back to work and is his ole chipper self. It was nice to see him. I asked if he was doing better, he said yes...much better.

My DH and I just returned from BCV yesterday. Art looks terrific. When I asked how he was feeling, he said very well. He also said, "he loves all his people".

He is such an asset!

My husband and I visited with Art on Wednesday morning before our breakfast at Cape May. His first day back to work was Tuesday. He is so happy to be back. He told us he had some complications with his cataract surgery which was done in June. He is just such a wonderful man, and he brings joy to so many!
