So we live in an apartment complex that is having a holiday light decorating contest for your patio/balcony (1st floor patio, 2nd and 3rd are balconies) and the contest is going to take place on the 19th at 7:00 pm. Well I was very excited about this and really wanted to do it. SO has been a little bahumbugging this year as far as Christmas decorations goes, but I finally convinced him that this would be fun.
Well we began the decorating on Thanksgiving night, and are still not done. Now keep in mind it is only a balcony, not a whole house or anything. But things just keep preventing us from finishing. SO has been terribly busy at work lately, having to stay really late, or take 3 hour (
) business calls at home, or go back into work at 10:00 at night to deal with problems that their clients in Australia are having and not getting home till 1:35 in the morning (nothing against all my Australia pals out there!!)
So last night he says to me, I won't be late tomorrow (being today the 17th). At about 5:00 tonight he calls to tell me that he will be a little late, but definitely not past 7:00pm. Ok fine. Now I was planning on making this oriental chicken thing for dinner, but hesitated and didn't take the chicken out of the freezer. Good thing too, because by 7:30 I call him. Of course his first response was "I was just going to call you..." (yeah and I was just going to grow a tulip out of my ear). Then he says..."Well it is raining out side, so we can't really do the lights, and I have to stay later at work." (Ok fine, when will you be getting home, I am getting hungry) "Oh just go ahead and eat without me." (GRRR!!! good thing I had enough sense to not defrost the chicken...so when do you think you will be home) "Oh we still have a good 2-3 hours of work and then"...blah blah blah
So yet another night that the lights are not done. And did I mention we are going to FL the week of Christmas? So the lights will be lit for a total of about 4 days!! So here I sit DISing while munching on a piece of tombstone drinking a wild cherry pepsi and waiting for a load of whites to finish in the washing machine so I can put them in the dryer!!
