April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Inagural Wonder to Hawaii-Part 4

Hi everyone.

Wow...I can't believe what a huge thread this is...there is not way I can read through it all so please forgive me if I'm missing something.

Anyway our DD (25) just found out last night that she will be on this cruise. She is so excited because she has never been to Hawaii.

She will be accompanying her DH who just started as a mainstage entertainer on board the Wonder on April 1st.

So basically there will be times when he is working that she will be on her own so I was just wondering what kind of events have been planned that maybe she can be a part of.

I'm hoping to get her on the boards so that you can all get to know her a little in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for your help.

That is Fabulous! Pixie MAgic!pixiedust:

Hi Cindy,

I've tried sending you PMs twice now with a request and they send but then I see no record of them, have they been received? I don't want to fill your inbox with the same email.

Thanks,
Amy

Sorry, Amy
for not getting back to you sooner, I don't log in often. You are added, NP.

See you soon,

Cindy

I have updated this on the spreadsheet.

This is the first Disney cruise where I have declared my allergy. I am normally pretty good at managing it and just avoid things that I am not 100% sure about. However, having looked at some Hawaiian recipes, there may be hidden bananas in all kinds of dishes. I have also requested a particular head server. We had the most fantastic server on the PC in 2011 and he got promoted to head server about two weeks later. Graham blurted out that I was allergic on the last night of the cruise and our server asked why I did not tell him. I explained to him that I had a very bad experience with a cruise on another cruise line where I was made to feel very uncomfortable and have not declared my allergy since. He told me that any server worth his salt would effectively manage this and keep me safe without making a fuss. So he can go and prove this to me.

I am actually quite partial to the menu. Graham does not rate it at all. That is where the idea of Palo came in. He mentioned that he would eat at Beach Blanket Buffer that night and I told him that they would still serve the same menu.

That's great. I do not mind looking up. You do have a valid point about cross-contamination though. This had not even occurred to me. This is something else to discuss with the head server when I get on board. Of course it could be that it is just banana flavour rather than containing any real banana, but I will have to find this out when I get on the ship.

Corinna

We have declared my DD allergies in all 8 Disney Cruises and I their attention is amazing, I have never seen something like it in my life, other than Disney Cruise. We had Simon 2x before he was promoted to running the show in the dinning rooms and when ever we come across, he always remembers and lets the servers know about it.

So go ahead and DECLARE yourself, the attention and love you will receive is fantastic! pixiedust:

Have a car! After trying online and having sites get upset because I wanted to return car same day as I rented it :) I called Expedia for the first time....jingle kept playing in my head...got a very nice gentleman who worked behind the scenes because "form" wouldn't work for him either and got me a Dollar car rental :drive: with shuttle pick-up for $30 less than Kayak had booked me with Budget :banana: Phew one crisis adverted!

Now I just have to remember how it all fits so that I can do it again to pack for real and then when we leave the ship (:sad1:)

I get that same feeling, when I start thinking of debarkation  I haven't even board the ship and already there is a bitter sweet feeling roaming around :rolleyes2 my head!

The CAT....he wants to go. He kept crawling inside the luggage. As of now, he was not zipped up when I moved the cases off the bed, but he thinks he belongs inside them.....

My DOG is doing the same, I am going to miss my little ball of snow! :worried:

Overall, I am still excited!!!!!!!!! :cool1::lmao:pixiedust:

Maybe we need to arrange for a CAT meet....oh wait, the navigator is closed...:rotfl2:

YEAH! Plan on seeing Chimpanzee on board also.

.

YES...that movie and others...I never seem to have enough time on a regular cruise....popcorn::

I remember when there was no charge for entry to DL, only the rides. There were ticket booths all over to purchase your tickets.
I would go and just watch people.

I remember A, B, C, D and E tickets before there were just books of E tickets....

I still have some.....:wave2:

Many thanks. Not too many remember what an incredible restaurant the Empress Room was. Before California Grill, before Jiko...there was the Empress Lilly, with three superior dining venues (Steerman's Quarters was a favorite as well), but the Empress Room had all of the quality and service that we now equate with Victoria & Albert's but was just more accessible as you didn't have to get quite as dressed up or invest an entire evening to dining. Still our favorite restaurant at WDW of all time.

I agree... If I remember and IF I have time, I should locate and scan our menu from our honeymoon dinner...Oh wait, I may have done that for our 25th Anniversary...this could be posed on Saturday...

There is an excursion that we would really like to take in Hilo but it is sold out. What are the chances of us booking this excustion onboard the ship? Do they normally hold spaces open for onboard bookings? I just would like to know in case I need to reserve an alternate excursion.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this has been answered but if you cannot find it on board, see if you can find the tour operator and google and see if you can book on shore for a similar tour. Good Luck

A lot of you have probably already seen this on Facebook, but I decided to post here, too. I now have something to celebrate on this cruise. After living in the UK for nearly 16 years, I have finally decided to apply for British Citizenship. The first step in this process is sitting and passing the Life in Britain test. This is fiendishly difficult and a lot of British people cannot pass this either. Well, I have been studying every spare minute that I had for the last 3 weeks and yesterday I passed this on the first attempt. I am so relieved. As soon as I get back from our vacation, I will put in the application and hopefully when I go to WDW in November, it will be with a British passport.

Corinna
Congratulations....My Mother would welcome you.....
