A lot of you have probably already seen this on Facebook, but I decided to post here, too. I now have something to celebrate on this cruise. After living in the UK for nearly 16 years, I have finally decided to apply for British Citizenship. The first step in this process is sitting and passing the Life in Britain test. This is fiendishly difficult and a lot of British people cannot pass this either. Well, I have been studying every spare minute that I had for the last 3 weeks and yesterday I passed this on the first attempt. I am so relieved. As soon as I get back from our vacation, I will put in the application and hopefully when I go to WDW in November, it will be with a British passport.

Corinna

Congrats!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!:banana::banana::banana:

I am a single too, but I rarely attend singles meets because I am too busy with all the other fun things going on. Plus I have a 9 year old DS that keeps me busy! But always open to making new friends :thumbsup2

I don't usually go to them either, but in November I happened to be in Cove Cafe when it started, but there wasn't really anyone there. Just cruise staff:confused3

Corinna, are the jewelry workshops listed in your navigator with all the attendees for each workshop?

I didn't take note as to when mine were. I was hoping I could just see it in the navigator.

Love your disname.....Empress Room was where we had our honeymoon dinner....(yes, as Hubby would say, we are "older"......we remember WDW when it had two hotels and the campground had a working railroad.

We remember when there was no WDW and it was less than $2 to get into DL. It did cost a bit extra to buy the ticket books to ride the rides. We are really "older". :lmao:::yes::

Here is Charlotte's Shuttle photo from yesterday

shuttle2012014.jpg

WOW--exciting and sad at the same time.

Great photo Charlotte!
Thanks for posting Linda!

Corinna, I must have missed the post that had the times for the jewelry workshops listed. Can you please tell me when I am suppose to have my workshop and where it will be at? Thanks again,
Faith

Hoping I can find a wine shop within walking distance of DL - Fivepin got me started drinking Rosa Regale on a previous cruise. I rarely drink - but that ? oh yeah!

Happy Day, all!

Same here and it was a fellow DISer and table mate who brought down the remains of a bottle after their Palo dinner and insisted we taste it. Nothing better than a glass or RR and something chocolate!:thumbsup2

Amy - don't they usually try to compete rather than scaling back?:lmao:

I think they do! After one of the long cruises (the transatlantic one I think) there was suddenly a champagne tasting added to the second week...the Champagne Girls gathering had been during the first week.

.

I have been informed of a fairly embarrassing mistake on the Candy Swap list, I got my own cabin number wrong - we are in 2583 - I transposed two numbers. :rotfl2:

This affects groups 1,2&3. I'll republish the list once I get home from Australia tomorrow.

Sorry!

(no candy for me if you can't find the cabin!)

That is ok Dolphin Girl is keeping us all straight with her spreasheets, Three Cheers for Dolphin Girl!:thumbsup2

we fly out to la one week from today!!!!!!

And we DRIVE out one week from today...or possibly the day after if there are some appointments that have to be moved.

See you soon!

Hi everyone,
Wow our cruise is getting closer and the excitement grows with each day.
Just a few things to sort out before the cruise.
Need some help with info please:
I saw in the thread that some are having boxes shipped to hotels and I think to the ship. Is anyone having anything sent directly to the ship?
We're thinking of maybe having flowers delivered to the ship. Does anyone know if flowers delivered to the ship will be accepted? I know we can order flowers and gifts from the DCL list on the site but the options are very limited there.
Thanks

We got introduced to RR after having Magicale and trying to find it elsewhere and were then told that Magicale is RR relabeled for Disney.

Corinna

I found the post of jewelry times so here ya go!!

The Navigator is nearly complete and it looks great. I need to do some final checks on the staterooms for the Fish Extender exchange and then this is pretty much done. I am also still waiting on a write up for one activity. This is hopefully going for proof-reading on Monday and then onwards to have the final graphics added before it is sent of to John (Noel’s husband), who will format this for us in booklet format. I wanted to use this to say a big thank you to people who have offered to organize activities and contributed information to the Navigator. I know that sometimes I have been a hard task master. A special shout out goes to Joanne (Boosgram), who has collated information about Pre- and Post-cruise stays, celebrations and allergies. She put together some Hawaiian vocabulary and also is proof-reading the document and Angel (Serbian Princess), who has contributed on the graphic side of the Navigator and also helped with the general formatting. A big thank you to the two of you. I could not have done it without you.

Here are some more updates about activities that were still up in the air:

Corinna

Thought I'd quote this since it's far back in case anyone missed it like me when it first posted!:)

And we DRIVE out one week from today...or possibly the day after if there are some appointments that have to be moved.

.

Me too! Hopefully leaving about right now and headed to Vegas!

We remember when there was no WDW and it was less than $2 to get into DL. It did cost a bit extra to buy the ticket books to ride the rides. We are really "older". :lmao:::yes::

I remember when there was no charge for entry to DL, only the rides. There were ticket booths all over to purchase your tickets.
I would go and just watch people.

YES! Think I am out of time though.... Plus nobody would know our real names :confused3

Seriously, Do the airline seating people ever travel, don't they know we plan every last minute and when they go and throw a spanner in the works it is just not nice! :confused3:sad2:

Hoping for Avengers too! :goodvibes

Just got off the phone with DCL The Avengers will be premiering May 4th see you there :banana::cool1::cool1:

Many thanks. Not too many remember what an incredible restaurant the Empress Room was. Before California Grill, before Jiko...there was the Empress Lilly, with three superior dining venues (Steerman's Quarters was a favorite as well), but the Empress Room had all of the quality and service that we now equate with Victoria & Albert's but was just more accessible as you didn't have to get quite as dressed up or invest an entire evening to dining. Still our favorite restaurant at WDW of all time.
