Well I am going to Pearl Harbor at 7:15. So I had to book the 2:45. It will make us late for dinner but we will tell our servers and maybe try to arange to order that nights dinner the night before.

Called DVC this morning. The last tour was to leave at 3:15. However DVC has added a 3:45 departure, due to high demand. Yes, we will have to make arrangments for dinner (hope it is not lobster night)....hhhmmm may have to see if Palo has an opening when we get on board. We also believe this may be the only chance to see the place, due to high points and $ to fly there.

Hope some of you will join us on this 3 hour tour. (Wasn't there a TV show about a 3 hour tour out of Hawaii???)

I took a sewing class years ago and they taught us to put tissue paper between the layers of the fabric, stops the slipping and is easy to cut and pull out.

Hi Laura ! Glad you made it back over here. Don't be a stranger. Dis has been slow for me.........yes frustrating. I have been following your updates on FB. Your looking great ! Didn't much care for those needle pics. though.

Really wasn't as bad as it looked. Only on 1 visit did it hurt and it hurt my hands not the face. Lol

I'm making 100 FE gifts, too. If we don't end up with 100 cabins, some will just get doubles. I hope the moms get the packaging first - the kids can have the contents,

Got it ..Thank you. I got a full size car for $38 including taxes. I am definitely going to try calling about pick up also. Maybe since there are more than one of us they will bring the shuttle to the terminal and take us to cars and return at the end of the day. I requested 8am till 6pm rental...

Glad you got the deal. I called them and they said just call them when we arrive and they will send a shuttle(s) as needed. They sounded very efficient and that they deal with the cruise ships all the time so I felt pretty confident about our reservation. We booked from 8:30am till 7pm. Their stated hours of operation are 5:30am till 11pm. We might change till later if we decide to do a luau, but right now we are thinking about being back on the ship for dinner.

Last comment was March 15 for FE lists to be decided. Only gives me a few weeks to figure out for kids because we are heading out 10 days before cruise... so hope it isn't any later than that

I've been really lazy about getting things done, but I finally got fired up and have everything booked. Still need to try for a Palo brunch once on board. Here is what I have so far:

Hilo: Volcano Tour (want to try to upgrade to Gourmet Volcano Adventure)
Maui: Car rental with plans to at least drive up Haleakala (sp?). I've been there before but Curt has not.
Oahu: On/Off Street Car (and Palo for dinner)
Kauai: Kayak/Waterfall Adventure

Here is a place in Huntington Beach which is not far from Long Beach for Leis. You could at least get a price comparison, and if there was a bunch maybe you could get a group discount.

We have also done candy leis for the kids when they graduate from high school. They are really popular here.

Thanks for sharing. We will stay with friends at Seal Beach before the cruise so we just have to check this out.

I booked and paid in full last week for 4/29 Hawaii Sailing. I have sailed Disney 8 times before and have participated in many events with the groups. I am trying to do this with this cruise, but I am lost. I don't know where to start and what to do because this thread has 3 threads has the longest thread I ever seen or that I have participated in. I have limited amount of time since we booked last minute and would like to join with our family some events. Please help, thanks.

I am just about to repost the information. I took the tab on the spreadsheet down as this had become too messy and unreliable with people not deleting themselves or letting me know once they jumped ship.

Well, I am in full cruise planning mood now. The supplies that I still needed for the kids Fish Extender gifts arrived over the last couple of days so I made a start on those. I have also ordered the last of the supplies that I need for the gift for the ladies. Once I finished the gifts for the girls, they should hopefully be here. I realized that I am also short some supplies for the boys so I have ordered those, too.

I also ordered my business cards that I will leave with the Fish Extender gifts plus a t shirt for me. Graham has been teasing me on the last cruise that he wants a t shirt saying "Taking Stitch to Hawaii and leaving him there." A very talented designer made me to great graphics, which I had printed as t shirts for him for Christmas. I fell in love with one of them myself, but had the text altered to just say "Taking Stitch to Hawaii".

The next step is reserving our seating for the return flight and updating our ESTAs, which I will do over the weekend.

Secret Mickey

If you have ever participated in Secret Santa, then you have a good idea what this is about. You will be allocated a family or an individual and it is then your task to spoil them rotten during the cruise. The budget for this is $25 to $30. This does not have to be anything faqncy. During the cruise, you should drop a little something off for your Secret Mickey 2 or 3 times. This can be a note, some candy, a souvenir, a magnet, etc. On the last sea day there will be a reveal session and during this, you should give your Secret Mickey a slightly bigger present.

DIS Group Navigator

I wanted to keep this as simple as possible and was just planning to send this automatically to everybody whose email address I have. However, I had a play today with possible formats and hit a snag. The version for people who wish to print this will be in a way that each page takes up half a page of letter size paper so that it is easy to carry around with you. I uploaded a sample of this format on my eReader and iPad and it is simply too small to read. So I am going to offer two versions: the more compact version for people who which to print the navigator and a full page version for people who want to upload it on any kind of electronic device. As this is getting a bit more complex, I have created another Google Form, on which you just have to fill out your DIS Name, email address and which version you want. This can be found here:

I recall on the PC that they adjusted dinners on nights where we were late in ports....Of course I don't remember how the dinners were adjusted......as we were in the ports

We are reversing the order of our port trip going to DVC first and then spending the rest of the day on the island....This weekend we'll finish up the plans as I am hoping that DH will announce the vacation time is set...(wishing well for the rest of you in the same boat....or Ship, as the case may be).

With the ship not leaving until 10:30, I think we will not be making it back to the ship for dinner....there is so much to see and do. So you can have our late dining spot....which is what I think they did; let folks attend either of the seatings.

Maluhia....(I thought I'd dig out my Hawaiian book of names and start using my translated name...

I also booked the DVC tour. I have the 9:15 AM tour and have a studio reserved but needed transportation. When I called DVC, they said that if I did not take the shuttle back, the return to the ship was on me. Thought the tour would help introduce DW and I to the resort. After the tour we can check in and enjoy the resort amenities. Anyone else using the tour and have a reservation at Aulani?

Hi Ella! I was excited when I saw you ordered them because I was working on my order at the time...when I asked them they made me think I was crazy - so I emailed them and got a "no - we only have what's online" answer. Then the next day they emailed me again apologizing for not knowing and sent me that info...so all I really did was post it since I thought it was a great idea.

If they have them I'm surprised they are not putting them online...but that's just how DCL rolls sometimes.

So - thank you for mentioning it or I'm not sure any of us would have known.

Hi OH....you are welcome...that's why this forum is so great that we can spread the word!

DCL probably meant to post those on their website, but maybe we just beat them to the punch and asked before they got them up there. The CMs read the same computer screens that we do. Who knows? But we certainly do keep DCL on their toes. I think we're always one step ahead of them. hahaha.
