I can't wait to see the scrapbooking materials. I did finish my PC cruise but at the end I got kind of tired and did not put all the effort into the last part. I was just glad to finish it.

I hope all the organizers put up a list of participtents- since there are so many great things going on - we forget what we signed up for.
Looking forward to the FE list. I have some done but am witing for the children in the groups. I will probably do two groups- depending on numbers.

When I put together the CG list, I'll post it on here so everyone can check for corrections. :thumbsup2

I've had a hard time keeping up with all the wonderful posts for our cruise! Could you give me a quick run down of the details about the alternative luau. I really don't want to pay the 90+% markup on the Old Lahaina Luau through DCL. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Been trying to catch up on all the fun planning - phew!

Also wanted to share some info I got from DCL
(please forgive me if this has been shared before):
Taking alcohol aboard isn't a problem as long as it isn't crates and cannot be in checked luggage. So whatever you bring aboard has to fit into your hand luggage.

We're doing a trip to Aulani at the beginning of February (5th to 11th). This is our first trip to HI and of cause Aulani, so we are very excited.
If you need me to get any info etc I can try get it for you while we are there.

Well...let's just make that official, why don't we?
3PM DISMEET PROMENADE LOUNGE EMBARKATION DAY!

Tables/comfy chairs/bartender.....need I say more?
.
:):) Say no more - we'll be there!

Thank you everyone for the kind words!
I hope everyone will want to celebrate with us
We are planning on having the ceremony on the Deck 7 Aft, not sure which day yet, but I will let everyone know.
I'm not sure how to put images up on the board :confused3
Any one know how to share some pics??
I have facebook, if anyone wants to add me I can give you my url.
I can't wait to meet everyone :yay:
Congratulations on your Cruise Wedding. We did our 25th Anniversary vow renewal aboard the Magic in Sessions and it was magical to say the least!
Also have Facebook please feel free to link with me there too.

I am probably going to live to regret this, but here goes anyway. Has anybody offered to do a group navigator? If we do not already have this covered, I would like to volunteer to take this project on. With everything that I am either running outright or am in some way involved in, I need a document of some kind to keep me organised. It would only take a little more time and effort to do something for the group. If I end up doing this, I would create the document in PDF format and people could either print this or save it to their iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches, Kindles, etc. which is what I intend to do. I already have a bunch of email addresses for Secret Mickey and the Scavenger Hunt and would automatically send this to everybody who I have an email address for. Anybody else who wants a copy can just PM me their email address. What do you guys think?
Corinna
:worship: Thank you Corinna

Mine will be 4 years old in August and is a MacBook. I actually ended up buying this at the airport when we were flying to Florida for our very first cruise. My old laptop had given up the ghost the previous Christmas and I was mulling over if I should get a new PC laptop or pay a bit more and go with the MacBook. At the airport they offered a deal that I could not pass up. It was a higher spec computer than the one I had looked at in the local Apple store, but it was a little cheaper. So that was a no brainer. I would not go back to a PC now if they paid me for it. It is bad enough that I have to put up with one at work.
Corinna
I've been a PC user especially for the Windows programs I use, but in 2009 I switched to Mac and have never looked back - I LOVE my Mac and run all my Windows programs on VMWare a virtual machine on my Mac so I have the best of both worlds!

Val and I were chatting about me organizing a San Francisco Bay area DIS meet prior to the cruise. I was thinking mid to late March when the shirts are ready.
Anyone interested, please Pm me.I will also post on FB.
Noel
Wondering if anyone is organizing a similar one in SoCal, maybe at the same time as the San Francisco one? I'd be happy to help or organize it!!!

I am organizing:
Stateroom Tour.
Date/Time: I haven't picked a day/time yet as I was waiting to ask those offering to showcase their staterooms what worked best for them. But, I'm sure we'll do one of the Sea Days heading over and I'll try to pick a time that doesn't conflict with other stuff going on.
Location: List of Staterooms to be provided to DISers
Sign-ups are on one of the Roll Call spreadsheet tabs and required by April 15th
Cost: Nothing
Hosted by SanDiegoSteph
Thanks
Stephanie
Steph, I've offered our T 8046 and added it to the spreadsheet.

HawaiiCountdownCalendar_Page_5.jpg
Tooooo cute!

Are you asking for RSVPs since the spreadsheet may be out of date?
If so, I hereby RSVP.
Jan
Here's my RSVP for Champagne Girls too!
Charmaine aka KugalBelle

I am new on the DIS boards and just signed up! My husband and I will be celebrating his 50th birthday on this cruise. We are SO SO excited. We signed up for the Luau in Maui and other FUN events that have been organized by many of you. SO...thank-you all for all your hard work organizing all of this:)
Can someone tell me about the "Palo Brunch" that is being organized and also about the "Scavenger Hunt" ??
Thanks again!!
Welcome aboard!!
My DH will be celebrating his 51st, 2 weeks before the cruise!
Looking forward to sailing with you.

Scrapbook Update
Well, I have the first 9 pages designed in my head. First two are kinda done, but I have to wait for Scrapbook USA Expo second week in April I think to pick up final embelllishments..
Went to scrapbook store yesterday and bought 300 pieces of paper. The ladies there must think I need a therapist! But then I was checking out and the cashier told me someone was in the day before and bought over 1000 pieces of paper. (guess she owns an online scrapbook store). Goes in and buys everything up when it is on sale (hm.....just like me).
Anyway, as a little teaser here are themes for some of our pages:
Luau pages complete with tiki heads
Mickey pages (no cruise is complete without Mickey)
Petite Pink Posies pages (Hawaiian themed)
Striped design pages with small flowers with sparkles theme
Sailaway page in my head, working on it today. Saw something I loved and now I need to re-create it into the cruise/Disney/Hawaii theme
The 300 12 x 12 papers are about 8 inches high on my kitchen table......I have a huge granite countertop in my kitchen, so it has now taken over the space for the next couple of months most likely!
Onward............:wizard:
Linda I can't wait to do this class with you. I literally have crates of scrapbooks and items to hopefully use in them that I have collected over the years but have never actually done a single scrapbook. Hopefully this is going to start me on the scrapbooking road, so to speak!

Hi everyone, Just joined the boards. We'll be joining you all on the Hawaii cruise, really looking forward to it. Tried to PM to get on the roll call but can't do that until I have ten posts i guess.
Welcome aboard!

Hello everyone!
My husband and I will be crusing with you in May - signed up the first week, but I just found the dis thread through my buddy dcannon who is also cruising!!
We are soooo excited, but a little overwhelmed with shore excursions!
There are things we would like to do but don't seem to be offered as excursions.
Anyone have thoughts on getting excursions not through the cruise? Makes me a bit nervous...:)
Welcome aboard. We are also too nervous to do private excursions but many do.

I've had a hard time keeping up with all the wonderful posts for our cruise! Could you give me a quick run down of the details about the alternative luau. I really don't want to pay the 90+% markup on the Old Lahaina Luau through DCL. Thanks!
I know, I also find it tough keeping up with all the posts and wonderful information and planning going on here. Unfortunately I tend spend more time over on Facebook where I keep in touch with family. But need to make a serious effort of popping in here daily.

LATE DINING LINKING
I will be linking those interested in dining together in the next week or two. I have gathered the following names from the spreadsheet,
Dee47
valbob89
Robin & Angel "D"
Kugalbelle
Gofenmom
newgeneb
CruznLexi
BoosGram
Suecot
chipdale20
birkner (and Nancy)
Lauragar & Johngar
Igough
PLEASE PM THE FULL NAME OF THE LEAD PERSON AND YOUR RESERVATION NUMBER TO ME
I have to have this information for my TA to link us for dining.
So far I have this info from BoosGram and birkner
IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED UP YET BUT WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US PLEASE JUST PM ME YOUR INFO - YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN UP ON THE SPREADSHEET
If you have questions please feel free to ask here from the group or PM me. We have found that dining with and getting to know our fellow DISers is one of the most fun things we do on the cruises. :grouphug: Generally they seat us at tables of 6-8 people. But, will accomodate if we request a table for a family of 4 alone but in the same area as the group.
Thank you will PM our info to you.
This is our first cruise on our own for DH and myself so not sure who we'll be seated with. Looking forward to dinning with everyone.

Are there still openings for the alternative luau? Also, where is it at? TIA.

HI:

Yes, there are still openings for the alternative luau in Maui. If you go to the first page and click on the Roll Call link to the google doc, there is a tab for Alternative Luau where you can sign up.

It is being held at the Feast at Lele (www.feastatlele.com) There is a menu posted on the Facebook page as well (still trying to figure out how to do that here...)

Here are the general basics:

Alternate Luau in Maui.
Date/Time: Saturday, May 5th in Maui/ pick up from the port likely to be 5:15pm and drop off at 10pm (or maybe a bit earlier)
Location: The Feast at Lele, 505 Front St in Maui

I see we have some more new cruisers and/or new people to join the thread here....make sure you check the first page of the thread for info about lanyards if you want them. The cutoff will be coming in early February for folks to order lanyards (and we're already up to 294...so I'm certain we'll pass the 300 mark!!):thumbsup2

Whining coming -

The USPS has raised their rates, effective today. I am not sure how this will affect the shirt mailings but for now I'll just wait and see. I am hoping I built a little extra into the mailing portion from the manufacturers and that will cover the USPS costs. Anyway, when all are mailed will give a complete cost breakdown to the group.

AND 49ers lost in overtime - Sometimes life isn't fair.

Val

Yep, went to mail a box - anything in it ships for a set price - and the price had gone from 10.95 to 11.35. :sad2:

Send PM to paulasillars, she is organizing this for early seating.

Paula will need the same info I need for late dining - Full name of lead person on the ressie and the number. She will be posting a reminder soon, I think.

Hi everyone,

Thank you will PM our info to you.
This is our first cruise on our own for DH and myself so not sure who we'll be seated with. Looking forward to dinning with everyone.

Thanks. DCL did a really good job of matching up folks on the TA. It appeared that every table "connected" and had a great time. :thumbsup2

For Jan and Charmaine and anyone else interested in doing the Champagne Girls......PLEASE DO NOT RSVP HERE......you won't be counted. I have not even started the list yet so I have no where to put your names if interested. PLEASE GO TO page one and look at the tabs on the bottom of the page......click on Champagne Girls and sign in there. That's where I will do my list from. I have two more months before I'll be starting the CG list. So please don't post your replies here.....I will never remember. Thanks. I appreciate your help with this.

No problem, I'm on that list. Thanks.

OH GOOD!!! Then you don't need to do anything else. I'll work from that list when I'm ready to get started. We have plenty of time still. DCL won't even assign me a room until 2 weeks before sailing. So we're fine. Thanks.

Does anyone know if there is a store near Paradise Pier where we can pick up one of those 2 liter wine boxes? We can not bring it from home so we have to buy it there.

Hi everyone,

For anyone interested in staying at the Double Tree in San Pedro and didn't give me your name yet, please let me know as I have group space booked there and I still have some rooms. If you want any information, please PM me or email me at bweiss923@aol.com

Don't forget - we'll be having a pre cruise DIS "Minnie" meet at the Double Tree in the lobby at 8 pm.

Let the party start. :dance3::banana:

Can't wait to see my old friends and make new friends. :grouphug:

You guys have been very busy posting for the last week. I just sailed on the 1/15 MR and I can tell you that the crew is very excited about sailing to Hawaii!

For those who were asking about the port opening time:
I took super shuttle from Sheraton Gateway LAX to the port. My pickup time was 9:45am and as it turned out, I was the only passenger in the van so I got to the port at 10:15am. At that time, there were a few porters around to take luggage and I was able to walk right into the terminal to go check in. We didn't actually start boarding until around noon, however.

I see the DIS navigator is getting kind of full with activities, but is anyone interested in a casual (and free) improv games workshop for the adults? It would be stuff like what you may have seen on "Whose Line Is It Anyway". It's a lot of fun and we'll use a space in close vicinity to a bar. ;) If there's interest, I'll figure out a good time to schedule around the other activities in place.
