But I did find Nick a suit today. And I ordered some summer clothes for the kids. KT will be wearing jazzed up flip flops from Justice to dinner instead of "dress shoes." I got that much done.

Woo-hoo.

Btw, I've got a contest running on my blog right now for a free Skeeda bag (www.skeeda.com) if anyone is interested in entering. :)

Go to my blog at www.pediascribe.com and look for the skeeda posts (there are two)

Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday!

Today starts the official "getting ready" period for the cruise. We'll bring up the rolling rack for the clothes and start going through what we are going to wear and hang it on the rack. We have a few things that need to go into the cleaners and that will also be take care of this week. Then as the weeks go on I'll start pulling out other things we need (like our snorkels, masks, etc.) and put them on the dining room table. This helps up prepare for packing.

Yeah!!! I am not the only one packing. I finished shopping for DH and my kids this weekend. Now its onto me. Everyone has tried on everything and it all fits...so its time to pack. We bought new luggage this year. We only had 1 Large rolling bag and I loved it. So we trading in the other suitcases for more bags on wheels. I bought 1 for each kid because we usually need a suitcase each for them, but I was able to fit all of there stuff in one bag with room to spare. LOVE IT!!! I am hoping chris and I can share so its only 3 bags we have. We have one bag with all of our formal and nicer cloths...we won't need them for the week before when we are in Disney.

It is going to be a busy day in St. Martin. Looked at the ship schedule in St. Martin for the day we are there and we'll be one of 5 ships in port! Listed below is the name of the ship followed by the maximum capacity of the ship:

Breamer - 821
Carnival Freedom - 2974
Disney Magic - 3325
RCCL Explorer of the Seas - 3840
Liberty of the Seas - 4370

I'm glad we don't have much planned!

St. Thomas only has March up on their schedule right now.

I love seeing us post on a new page! WooHoo! Less than 6 weeks now. Time to get that packing list finished.

Anything exciting happenning with anyone?

just a quick question for you seasoned cruisers... would this dress be appropriate for formal night?

I am also wondering if I can wear this for both formal or semi formal or should I buy a different dress?

Kay - I think that dress would be beautiful for formal night. No reason why you couldn't wear it both nights. Totally up to you.

Here are my formal and semi-formal dresses:

Formal - I had originally bought this for Mark's brothers wedding. This was taken back in 2001. Mark won't be in a tux this time.

Semi-formal - this is the new dress I bought last weekend complete with jewelry. Not the best picture of me but I was just trying things on so no make-up and my hair is a mess. :)

That is a beautiful dress! My family is taking a fishing excursion in St. Maarten and Michael is going to hit the casino and I am babysitting 2yo nephew Owen!!!!
Yeah for less than 6 weeks!

Mary - Very Nice! :cutie:

No new cruise news here. A lot depends on when the professor reschedules Steph's final exam. She has a test this Tuesday, so she isn't even thinking of the cruise right now.

Major league baseball is in full gear right now. Our hometown spring training team is the Washington Nationals. I went to one game last year, but none so far this season.

Meanwhile, DS (now 8) had his first little league baseball game Saturday. We don't keep score at this level, but our team did well. Someone overheard a parent from the other team complaining about their coaching, but it's not that - we just happened to get a lot of good players this season. It's kind of scary now, because some kids throw and bat very hard at 7 and 8 years old while some kids are very easily distracted. That's a dangerous mix.

DS8 and DS5 also do gymnastics. DS is training to be on the boy's team, but its tough when you only practice for 1.5 hours per week.

What activities (sports, art, organizations (like girl/boy scouts), etc.) do the kids from this roll call participate?

thanks for your input on the dress Mary! I went ahead and got it. We'll see if I use it for both nights, just depends on whether or not I see something else I like between now and then for semi formal night!

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who celebrate! :shamrock:

Watched a great show on PBS last night called the High Kings. Great Irish folk music!

Good morning all! Short week. Yay. And then next week is spring break. I love working for the school district because I get all the breaks off too!! I plan on really cleaning my house good and getting ready for the cruise! Can't wait!

It's fancier than my formal dress. So at least you won't be the worst dressed! :)
And I may just do the same dress for formal and semi-formal night. And Palo brunch. ;)
