It was the St Maartens excursion "Pinel Island Snorkel" trip. We were looking forward to this trip as we wanted to spend more time shopping in St Thomas as to going on a excursion and we are scheduled for the snorkel, bike and floats at CC. Therefore, we shall make adjustment and have a super time anyhow.

So looking forward to the cruise, spending quality time with the DW :bride: ya hoo. :thumbsup2

we prefer watching are you smarter than a 5th grader

I like the concept of the show, but they d.r.a.g. t.h.e. w.h.o.l.e. t.h.i.n.g. o.u.t.

I usually yell at the tv "OH COME ON, GIVE THE *&@% ANSWER ALREADY."

Ok, so I don't really use profanity, but I have learned the show is way to slow for me to watch without serious consequences to my blood pressure. :)

A little story of what happened on Monday of this week. Everyone remembers the dis-messages recently about the Magic engine problem and the disappointed cruisers and the problem with not being able to dock at CC. After reading it, all DW could think of was: What if they cancel the cruise?

Monday afternoon the phone rang (not unusual as we are Realtors who do business out of the home) :surfweb: DW answered with the usual greeting “Good afternoon, this is Debra how may I help you?’ The voice on the line answered and said, “This is the Disney Cruise Lines and we are calling to advise of a cancellation of the April 26 cruise vacation”. DW said she took a deep breath as the voice on the line continued. “Your reservation for the excursion on St. Maarten has been canceled by the vendor”. It took a minute for DW to capture the full effect of what was said. “ Oh, ……….. oh…….. OK. The DCL person continued to advise the process to reschedule another excursion. After the phone call, all we could do was laugh! :rotfl: :lmao:

omg, I think you just gave me a small heart attack!! :rotfl:

Good morning everyone. TGIF!

Looking to be another nice day here in Chicagoland. Looking forward to the weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Yeah because they never drag things out on IDOL. :lmao:

Woo Hoo - a morning UTOP with Karen!

PDFG!

Hey, if you aren't nice to me, I'm not going to do that couples massage with you! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh come on I wasn't being mean just stating a fact. :)

Now now don't but cutting into my private time with my honey. Of course if you want to meet us in the rainforest room we can have a DIS meet like we did on the 10 day. We met Jim in the rainforest room after our massages. He even moved to a different lounger so Mark and I could sit next to each other.

Current Ideas:

St. Maarten: Rent a jeep and wing-it. Possible visit to the Butterfly farm.

St. Thomas: Coral World (Land and Sea)

CC: Beach day

---------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? These plans are not set in stone so I am up for any comments, negative or positive.

Is the Butterfly farm better at St. Maarten or Thomas? :hippie:
Thanx

Randy - are you doing Coral World on your own or through DCL? We've done it both ways. We love Coral World but really enjoyed it more on our own. Of course that trip we also did Sea Trek at Coral World so that was part of the fun. It is really easy to get there on your own and Coki beach is right next door.

Sorry can't help on the butterflies as we've only been to the one in Key West.

I was getting ready to reserve it thru DCL (waiting on DW's approval), but you've given me good reason for pause.

Did you get to Coral World via taxi?
Is Coki Beach a good place to go - seems I've heard a lot about St. Johns being one of the prettiest beaches. However, if we do the land/sea excursion at Coral, I'm not sure how much time we'll have left to go to the beach.

Thanx for the response....

Coral World is super easy to get to by taxi. Once you get off the ship there will be plenty of taxi's (vans) waiting. Tell them where you want to go and agree to a price before getting in. They will usually wait until they have a full van but for us that was only about 10 minutes. When we went there were a total of 10 of us in the van. 4 got out at Red Hook to take the ferry over to St. Johns. 4 got dropped off at Coki Beach and then he dropped the two of us off at Coral World. Coki Beach is right next door but he drove us to the enterance. Our cab driver asked what time we wanted to be picked up and he'd come back for us. The other family at Coki was another DIS family so we agreed on the time. When we were finished with Coral World we expected to spend some time at Coki Beach but we had a problem with our digitial camera and decided to go back early. There were cabs hanging around and we got one quickly and he didn't even wait for others to take us back. Very easy.

The added benift of going to Coral World with Coki Beach is that there are showers and lockers inside Coral World that you can use before/after the beach.

I went to St. Johns years ago and it is very very beautiful. That's why Mark and I are going this time. He's never been. We are doing that through DCL. I know people do St. Johns on their own but I'd be too afraid of missing a connection.

Mary - Thanx bunches for the information. As usual, you've been most helpful!! :thumbsup2

We rode in a submarine in Aruba and it was very interesting. I think we went down a little over 100 feet. The crew had everyone singing the Beatles song, "Yellow Submarine," which my kids seemed to enjoy. We saw a couple of barracuda and an old ship wreck which conveniently had the captain (skeleton) still at the helm. :-) There were placards hanging everywhere which showed pictures and names of the fish we might see. So, perhaps another sub tour may on our agenda.

The only issue I can think of by not booking with DCL is if they sell out of sub tours. Other than that, a taxi seems to be the way to go.

Ok, getting a van or taxi by the port sounds like a great idea with some freedom.

Can someone tell me about Coral World?

http://www.coralworldvi.com/

Here's the website which probably does a better job of explaining it than I can. Coral World is a sea life park in St. Thomas. It is located right next to Coki Beach. It is not huge but a lot of fun. There are touch tanks and underwater observatories. Hope this helps.

This sounds great..Checked out the site but couldnt find out if 2 1/2 year olds to go in. I am assuming they can. IF so, this would be the perfect excursion for the entire family

I wouldn't see where there would be an age limit. It is just like visiting WDW. You can always e-mail them if you have questions. I did when we were looking at Sea Trek and they got back to me very quickly.

The only downside would be I'm not sure if any of the taxi's there have childs seats and I know that is important to some parents. Not having kids it is not something we've ever looked at.

As for St. Thomas we are going on the sky ride to paradise point and then shopping, Eileen wants to look for Vera Bradly bags. we are just wondering can you ship liquor back via ups.

These are the excursions we have planned for this cruise:

the end.
