Everyone that is interested in the morning Dis walk, our first will be Sunday at 7:30 we will meet on deck 4 at the 'track'. Hopefully there is a 'start' line so we have some idea of where to meet.

Hopefully that is not too early :cool1:

It may not be early enough for me, but I will play it by ear. My kids are early risers---I'm talking before 6. She is the hyper one. LOL! She is also the one who will look like she is about to fall asleep at the dinner table around the 5th night.

There isn't a "start" line. But you could just say port (left) or starboard.

Deb

Deb,

I think that we may start earlier the rest of the week but for our first morning gfolchick and I liked 7:30.

I have not cruised before, is there a starting spot you can recommend?

Lynda

I too was thinking that 7:30 might be too late ... hopefully the subsequent days are at a little bit of a later time. I seemed to get up to watch the sunrise each morning ... and took the kids to shoot some hoops and watch the sun come up so we'll see what ends up happening.

Not a problem. I will join if it works out. Don't change it on my account. If I do an hour walk then shower, there isn't any time to spend with the kids because believe me mine will want to be in that club at 9am. LOL! Also--remember the later you go the more crowded. Maybe if I don't make it, I'll come say hi at least.

I would say the port (left side--remember each has 4 letters) on deck 4 (also four letters) outside the center (atrium) elevator bank doors. One lap equals 1/4 mile I think. There will be joggers. There is a small sign somewhere that talks about the distance and which direction. I would suggest go with the flow and leave room for joggers to pass.

Deb--who is too busy making name tags and door magnets to do her taxes.

mine are done all i have to do is find the time to sign and mail.(and write the check) .before we leave. maybe this weekend...

Wow, I didn't go on the computer once yesterday and look at how much has been posted. Karen, I hope that your daughter did ok with the surgeon. I'm hoping that it will seem like nothing to her once she is on the ship. Kids seem to bounce back so much faster than we do.

Deb, I'm reading your posts that keep getting earlier and earlier, before 6am! I am grumbling about having to be up with Tommy for school mornings at 6:35am and saying I can't wait for summer so I can sleep in. So, as you can guess I will not be walking with any of you in the morning. Tom will be up early enough to head the the gym and be back before any of the rest of us are ready for breakfast. (We even debated the St John excursions because it meets at 7:15am.)

We are booked to do the catamaran with snorkel on CC. We are also snorkeling at Trunks Bay in St John, so we bought our own snorkels and masks to take with us.

I made the kids try on clothes yesterday and there is so much that doesn't fit from last year, but I should be ok because I had already bought both of them a bunch of things. Although stuff is scattered all over the house. So now it is a matter of pulling out suitcases and actually packing stuff.

Kayla has a count down on her bedroom door for us. 8 days until we fly, 9 days until the cruise. Single digits!!!

I thought about door signs yesterday, but since I haven't tye dyed shirts yet I think I am going to skip them. I will make name tags once I go to Home Depot for mickey swatches. I did print out and iron on decals for other shirts, stick figure family shirts and two other tank tops for Kayla.

"Mrs. Lack of creativity" here asking how to make the name tags. I know to get the lime green mickey paint chips at home depot and put our names on them but are you hot glueing pins on the back or are there other creative options that my old mind can not think of. I have a laminator so if that could help in some way let me know. I might do better to put my 7yr DS on the task. Any ideas on the door magnets would be appreciated as well.

I admire all you walkers in the morning. I just do not have it in me. I might try to make seeing the sunrise one morning. My husband will be up at the crack at dawn and probably my 7 yr old but Drew (DS14) and I will probably enjoy a little extra sleep. Getting to sleep late would be the best part of vacation for the two of us. Our morning starts very early usually.

Can the teens wear jeans in the dining room on casual nights?

Thanks
Kathy

Motherofsons, tell your husband I usually am up as well. Where are we meeting for coffee?

Scuba2, any reason why the jet-skis cancelled? We havent received a call, but notice its now off our 'my cruise', online.

GFOLCHICK, any reason why the ecotour was cancelled?

I would think that people who already have lanyards could put thier lime green mickey head in the pouch of that. Otherwise it could probably be safety pinned on. Or if you have or could get those laminated holders that get given out with names in them from business meetings. I would think that staples or maybe even Walmart would have those, of course, who knows how many you have to buy at once. DH is on a business trip from Sunday until Wed., I will have to see if he gets any!

I can't believe you are all such early risers. 7:30am is pushing it for me, I love to sleep in whenever possible! Especially if I'm in Rockin D bar until midnight or so. I guess I'll have to catch some zzz's by the pool (if I can find a chair!).

Disney gave no reason when they cancelled the Eco Tour. I'm bummed because we were on the Wonder in November without our kids and would have done it then (had I checked into back then). I'm thinking it has something to do with the tour company. A few months back they had this issue with parasailing.

I was going to attach my Mickey head to my lanyard somehow. I might just stick it in the holder.

MCWOLF my husband requires very sleep. He will be at Rockin D's have a few drinks till all hours and then rise and shine likes it nothing. How opposite we are. What's scary and tiring is I have a 7r old minature version of him.

I do have the lanyards from out last cruise for the Green Mickeys great idea once again from all your super creative people.

I think I will have a little fun and tell my DS (14) that he needs to wear a Lanyard at all times on the ship. That should make for some great entertainment. He already is not thrilled with the "Disney thing" so that could put him over the edge. Should I be so cruel?

I have to say I am getting so EXCITED!!!!!!!!! The thought of the sun, warmth and alcohol, Woohoooo, nothing could be better.:cool1:

Anyone know if the teens can wear jeans on casual night? Formal and semi formal night my DS(14) is all set, it's the other days when he lives in shorts.

We are up at about 5:30 here. Jen's bus comes at 7 so she is in the shower by 5:45 and ready in an hour. The dogs hear everyone up and they don't let me go too long. I don't think I got up that early when I worked. It catches up with me every once in a while. Last night I went to bed at 7 and up at 5---10 hours of sleep. I had a migraine and basically that is the easiest way to get rid of it sometimes--an ice pack and sleep. When the girls were young, we actually re-arranged our fridge so the yogurt and milk was reachable. They could come down and get breakfast without waking us.

No reason given for the cancellation although I think it has something to do with their contract with the tour provider. They come from another island to do the tours. You'll see them all leave as we leave.

I made some cute nametags that have a small green mickey on them. You could just use whatever paint shop program you have. There is usually a shape clip art and you just change the color. I laminated mine and will wear them around my neck I think. I took a photo from the disney.com website and added text to it.

Just a warning. Put your magnets up kind of high on your door. There are little gremlins that come and either take them outright or like to play switcheroo with the ones next door. Take a picture when you put them up. If they get stolen, you have the memories. I made a green mickey magnet--small--that says "Proud to be a Dis Member".

That brings another tip to mind. Make a little card that has your name, ship name, cabin number, sailing date, phone numbber on it. Take a picture of it. If your camera is lost, they will be able to get it to you assuming someone turns it in. Also put extra luggage tags IN your luggage.

Ok--just finished taxes. I am an accountant and I hate doing them.

We got Christine's clothes out and ready. She inherited some of my skorts that I used to fit into back in the glory days. Had to fight with her to try them on. She hated them at first---that sensory feeling. Then after 10 minutes AND seeing how cute she looked--she was hooked.

Karen---give us an update on Hannah. I hope all is well and you guys get to go. I think not going would be worse than going with a broken leg.

I hear a bottle of wine calling my name.

I'll check in tomorrow.

Deb

I just got a pack of the badge holders from staples - 10 each - we are only using 4 (maybe 3 since I usually pop my stuff in my pockets). So if anyone needs one, let me know.
We already had lanyards -

Great news!!!

Yesterday I learned that the meeting that I had to be at for work next Friday was moved back a day (to Thursday). I had scheduled my flight for late on Friday night which didn't get in to Orlando until midnight.

So with the change, it allowed me to change my flight to Thursday night which will allow my daughter and I to go to the Pirate and Princess Party on the 11th. Hooray!!!

My son and I had gone to this a while back, and we absolutely loved it. Now my daughter and I will get to share the experience!!! It was probably the best fireworks display that I have ever seen.

Of course this means that I will have one less night to get ready...and of course I haven't started packing yet (but I don't think we need to buy anything)... time to get my act together!

We are coming from the UK so wont have the green mickey things....unless I get creative with the computer ! (Though I have to work all day tomorrow - saturday - and have people coming to dinner so not much spare time before we fly on Monday ........and i haven't even thought about packing yet!) but will look out for you. We have identical twins with us (and there probably wont be many English accents on the boat) so we will stand out anyway!

Does anyone know if they have stuff for the grandparents organised? Is there a grandparents meet-up arranged by the ship?

We are Rachael (39 and 341 days), Colin (44), Tabitha (10 1/2) Harry (13 1/2); Tania (40 ha ha), Mick(43) Lauren and Abby (8) Luke (12) Granny Sue (60) and her friend Annie (hmmmmm about 50!!)

:cheer2:

Good Morning all. I had a panic attack this morning. We have so much to do this weekend. I woke up at 3 and just couldn't go back to sleep until a little after 4. Just too much to do for cruise, for house facelift, for kids going to bday party, etc.

It is crazy.

Deb

OK, I woke up during the night dreaming about reading tips here on the cruise threads. How bad is that! I also bought the badge holders and the clips last night at Walmart. FYI, they come 12 in the package and each part was under $2. for the set of 12.

They could probably also be used to put your room card in and clip to your shirt or shorts if you have no pockets.
