Hi All

How do I go about ordering an AP? I am coming into WDW late at night and would like to have as little to do when I get their as possible. Can I order through MS? If so how does that work?

Thanks!

You can purchase your AP at any Guest Relations location at any park or DTD. All you need is your DVC Membership Card and a picture ID for each pass. If you pre-order, you will receive a voucher that still needs to be exchanged at Guest Relations.

We just got ours at guest relations at Hollywood Studios, it took all of 5 minutes. We did not get the vouchers before we left. This was our first time getting AP's since we are new DVC members.

If I preorder my annual passes through member services... my trip is not until August... do they activate first use???

You don't get the AP from MS, you get a voucher for an AP. The process is almost exactly the same as buying them at the Guest Services Window.

Since you still have to take your voucher to the GS Window, and get it exchanged for an AP. Which is then activated that day, regardless if you then go into a park or not. Renewals start the day your old pass expired, you can see my other posting earlier, but ~7 weeks between uses is the break even point.

The reason to buy the voucher is to lock in a rate, before a price increase. Other than that, if you have the credit card/cash/travelers cheques and your little blue card to buy the AP at the window you might as well do it that way. The voucher only saves you about 2-3 minutes. Most of the time is spent getting everyones name and information typed in.

We always order our new APs through MS online. We've done it many times. We like to get the monetary part done ahead of time. We always do the will call certificate. You print it out and take it to any guest relations window and show your picture ID and DVC card and they give you your real AP effective that day. We also do this for AP renewals, but you have to renew on the AP website not DVC. Once you put your card number in, it does recognize you as an DVC member and offers you the discounted renewal price. This process also offers the will call certificate. We'll be buying the 4 yo granddaughter her new AP next month and we have to renew DH's current AP that expires the end of April.

Thank you for the information everyone... I want to buy passes early.. so as I have the money for the pass saved.. I can buy it. I want to avoid using my credit card... so I will just use my debit each time I have the money for one. This way when our trip approaches... the only thing I will need is spending money... and yes... I do like to shop!:woohoo:
